Abstract

Dayak tribe is one of the tribes contained in Borneo which has a very distinctive "Telingaan Aruu" culture. The tradition is a tradition passed on from generation to generation to Dayak’swomen. However, this tradition has begun to be abandoned because of the assumption that the tradition is outdated. Therefore, there should be an introduction of the culture to the general public, so that the younger generation still know the existence of the tradition in Indonesia. Currently, women often use jewelry every day to complement the appearance and increase confidence. In addition, based on a data found, the export sales of Indonesian jewelry has also increased in the last five years. This is what opens up opportunities for custom made jewelry with today's societythat is modern jewelry with no leaving the elements of Indonesian culture, especially the Dayak tribe. To realize the idea, then conducted interviews, observations, and research for the consideration of making the design until the realization of products and marketing. The products are made from silver and consists of several types of jewelry, that isbracelets, necklaces, brooches, headpiece, and earrings.

Abstract

Fishing as a hobby growing very vast, proved by number of companies that still develop products specifically targeted to support fishing activities. But there is problem that hasn’t been solved by producers about how to create a product as a container that can maintain fresh shrimp bait remain alive as long as possible during fishing, especially in salt water, can’t last long or die when they reached the fishing spot because they didn’t have appropriate carrier. Researcher has the idea of using a method of stunning (immotilization) to keep the shrimp always alive and fresh so it can be used a bait for fishing. The goal of this study is to design a product that is able to keep the state of carried shrimp bait fresh and alive during fishing, as well as convenient and comfortable carries for saltwater fisher.Data collection method used ini this study are In Depth Interview (IDI) with the subjects consist of experienced fisher, seller of fishing equipment, and shrimp seller around Surabaya. Observation that took shrimp ponds, role-playing as salt water fisher in Sepulu, Madura. And Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with interviewees consist of saltwater fisher community and fishers who own boat.The result of this study is design of a shrimp bait carrier that capable to maintain the bait to be able to survive for a long time, namely 24-36 hours.

Abstract

Malangan mask is one-of Indonesia’s traditional culture which comes from Malang city, precisely coming from the kingdom of Kanjuruhan. Formerly, Malangan mask is used for traditional ceremonies, but by the growing of the era Malangan mask is used for entertain people using folklore. The characters that are famous in that folklore are Panji Asmorobangun and Dewi Sekartaji. By the growing of the era, foreign cultures are coming to Indonesia. It can be seen by young generation that love foreign cultures and modern cultures so that traditional culture from Indonesia faded. To resolve that problem, we begin this study with the purpose of uniting the Indonesia’s traditional culture with modern cultures. A lifestyle products are one of modern cultures. Lifestyle products grow with the era. One of lifestyle product which is popular to use are shoes. From the study, we try to put the Traditional cultures, which is Malangan mask, into a modern product which is shoes. The shoes are casual shoes using genuine leather for the material. This leather shoes design used Vigilant trend, a sub-theme of trend in 2018. Brand names for this lifestyle products is Piedre, which is an acronym of Piece De Resistance that have meaning masterpiece.

Abstract

Abstract – Inline skate is one of the emerging sports in Indonesia, especially among children. This is seen from the binding growth of inline skate community that has spread over 30 communities throughout Indonesia. While going to play, the children carry a variety of inline skate equipment along with their other personal needs so it takes a means of carrying a bag that can meet their needs. The research method used is a mixture that includes literature review, interviews, observation, and behavioral studies. Interviews were conducted with inline skate communities, designers as well as bag manufacturers, parent users, as well as tailor bags. Observations were conducted to find out the inline skate bags on the market, as well as behavioral studies conducted to find out the activities children do when going inline skating. This research produces a prototype in the form of functional bag for inline skating acitivity for children aged 8-12 years. With a compact shape, the bag can adjust the shape of the skates and the storage on the bag can be more leverage, making it easier for children to carry it. Then, the bag is also designed waterproof and ventilated system back so safe to use exercise in the outdoor area. In addition, the product also comes with product management, branding, and cost analysis calculations so that the product is ready to be marketed.
