Abstract

Numerical literacy is the ability to collaborate understanding and knowledge of mathematics effectively in facing life's challenges. This ability is very important for every student to solve everyday problems, including dyscalculia students (having difficulty learning mathematics). This research is a qualitative descriptive describing the need for a digital-based module to improve the numerical literacy of dyscalculia students. The digital-based module is an application to be used anytime and anywhere. The subjects of this study were six teachers and 18 students with dyscalculia, a combination of six primary schools in Kudus Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. The instruments used in this study were interview sheets, observation sheets, and questionnaires for a digital module need. Students were classified as dyscalculia based the dyscalculia screening test and the WISC (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children) test. The data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. This study indicates that a digital module is needed by teachers to improve the numerical literacy of elementary school students, especially students with dyscalculia. The development of a digital module can increase students’ motivation and interest in studying abstract mathematical concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) find out the test result average of the students mathematic problem solving ability which uses the discovery- learning assisted by manipulative demonstrative tools is above KKM; (2) find out the students mathematic problem solving ability  which uses the discovery- learning assisted by manipulative demonstrative tools reaches 75% of classical completeness ; and (3) find out the increase of the students mathematic problem solving ability through the discovery- learning assisted by manipulative demonstrative tools. This study is an experimental research through the discovery-learning assisted by manipulative demonstrative tools with one group pretest posttest technique. Instrument used in this research is the mathematic problem solving ability test, students attitude scale questionnaire, learning device and observation sheet. Based on data analysis has been conducted, it is obtained conclusions that: (1) the test result average of the students mathematic problem solving ability which uses the discovery- learning assisted by manipulative demonstrative tools is under KKM; (2) the students mathematic problem solving ability  which uses the discovery- learning assisted by manipulative demonstrative tools doesn’t reach 75% of classical completeness; (3) the discovery- learning assisted by manipulative demonstrative tools can increase the  students mathematic problem solving ability.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengembangkan E-modul Berbasis Etnomatematika untuk menghasilkan suatu media pembelajaran yang valid dan praktis sehingga dapat menumbuhkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan minat belajar siswa kelas VII. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan Model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Developmet, Implementation and Evaluation). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP N 2 Nalumsari Jepara. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara, tes kemampuan, angket minat belajar, angket analisis kebutuhan, lembar angket validasi ahli dan lembar angket respon. E-modul berbasis etnomatematika berisi mengenai materi segiempat dan segitiga yang di kaitkan dengan unsur kebudayaan Jawa Tengah. E-modul berbasis etnomatematika berisi beberapa fitur-fitur yang lebih menarik yaitu Pengetahuan Budaya Jawa Tengah (PANDAWA), Sekilas Materi (SEMAR), Latihan Soal Mandiri (LARASATI) yang berisi mengenai soal latihan berbasis kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-modul dinyatakan pada kriteria valid dengan skor 3,24. Hasil uji kepraktisan guru dan siswa didapatkan hasil rata-rata 3,28 dengan kategori praktis. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran e-modul berbasis etnomatematika dapat menumbuhkan kemampuan komunikasi dan minat belajar siswa kelas VII.

Abstract

Slow learner have difficulties in mathematics subjects so it is necessary to develop math module based on local wisdom Gusjigang Kudus. The purpose of this research is to know the result of questionnaire of  slow learner need to develop the module of math based on local wisdom, and  result of interview with teacher. The type of research is qualitative. The subject is the teacher and the slow learner in SD 1 Muhammadiyah Kudus. Techniques of data collection using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of the questionnaire analysis, the needs of slow learner concluded that slow learner need a mathematical module that can help understand the material, help solve daily problems, and take advantage of local wisdom in the area. Based on the teacher interviews, the module that can help slow learner does not exist yet, and the books in the schools do not emphasize issues related to local wisdom.

Abstract

Teacher at SDN 4 Puyoh Kudus District rarely make the learning process through learning discoveries aided props on the material Volume beams and cubes. This is due, they are accustomed to using expository teaching methods which place more emphasis on the process of delivering the material verbally from teacher to student. Thus, the response of the students in the learning of the discovery needs to be examined. This study aims to investigate the response of primary school students towards learning mathematics through learning discoveries aided props. This research uses descriptive qualitative research design in which the subject of the study was nineteen students. Data collection techniques are by using questionnaires, observation sheets, documentation and interviews. The results showed that the students showed a positive response tehadap mathematics learning using discovery learning props aided by the average percentage of students who responded positively to 82.11%. In addition, the activity of students during the learning process using the learning-aided invention nice props with an average percentage of 83% of student activity. Abstract

Karanganyar Village is a village that produces traditional children's toys with toys based on coastal environmental structures. This traditional children's toy is one of Jepara's superior products that has not been developed by the Department of Industry and Trade and MSMEs in Jepara. This results in the underdevelopment of superior local products and local cultural wisdom compared to children's toy developers in other areas such as Purwakarta and Yogyakarta. The service program is a regional superior product development program in traditional children's toy producing centers, especially at Mekar Maju MSMEs. The specific objective of this program is to assist partners in developing superior local products in Karanganyar Village in the form of traditional children's toys so that they have a variety of toys with educational value and child-friendly and helping partners develop technology-based business management patterns. The main priority in this program is solutions to problems in the production process, product design, and marketing management. The results of this service activity can help MSMEs in (1) improving the business climate, (2) increasing access to productive resources, (3) developing products and marketing for MSMEs, (4) increasing the competitiveness of HR and MSMEs

Abstract

ABSTRAKGuru-guru di SD 4 Puyoh terbiasa mengajar dengan pola teacher centered sehingga mereka merasa kesulitan dalam mengembangkan berbagai kemampuan matematis siswa. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan praktik serta membantu para guru dalam mengembangkan berbagai kemampuan matematis siswa dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran berupa alat peraga matematika pada materi luas daerah belah ketupat dengan pendekatan luas daerah segitiga. Dengan adanya pengabdian ini, diharapkan dapat sangat menunjang guru-guru di SD 4 Puyoh dalam meningkatkan berbagai kemampuan matematis siswa SD. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu guru-guru di SD 4 Puyoh Kabupaten Kudus dapat mengenal dan memahami strategi (teori) dan media pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan matematis siswa. Selain itu, guru-guru juga dapat merancang dan menyusun media pembelajaran berupa alat peraga sebagai media pembelajaran matematika salah satunya pada materi luas daerah belah ketupat dengan pendekatan luas daerah segitiga. Guru-guru di SD tersebut pun memperoleh pengetahuan dan gambaran simulasi dan praktik pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran berupa alat peraga sebagai media pembelajaran matematika pada materi luas daerah belah ketupat dengan pendekatan luas daerah segitiga untuk meningkatkan berbagai kemampuan matematis siswa. Kata kunci: matematika; media; alat peraga. ABSTRACTThe teachers at SD 4 Puyoh are accustomed to teaching with teacher centered patterns so that they find it difficult to develop various mathematical abilities of students. The purpose of this dedication activity is to provide knowledge and practice as well as assist teachers in developing various mathematical abilities of students by using learning media in the form of mathematical teaching aids on the material of rhombic areas with the area approach of triangular regions. With this dedication, it is expected to greatly support the teachers at SD 4 Puyoh in improving various mathematical abilities of elementary students. The result of this community service activity is that teachers at SD 4 Puyoh Kudus Regency can get to know and understand strategies (theory) and learning media that can be used to improve students' mathematical abilities. In addition, teachers can also design and compile learning media in the form of teaching aids as a medium for learning mathematics, one of which is on the wide area of the rhombic area with a triangle area approach. The teachers at the elementary school also gained knowledge and illustration of simulations and learning practices by using instructional media in the form of teaching aids as a medium for learning mathematics in the wide area of rhombic areas with a wide area approach to triangles to improve a variety of mathematical abilities of students Keywords: mathematics; media; props.

Abstract

Selama pandemic covid-19, guru-guru di Kabupaten Kudus banyak yang merasa kesulitan dalam mengembangkan media interaktif yang dapat digunakan oleh siswa untuk mendukung belajar dari rumah. Tim pengabdian berupaya memberikan solusi membuat pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi animaker sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif di era pandemi covid-19. Program kegiatan ini ditujukan kepada 230 guru dengan menggunakan aplikasi zoom yang tujuannya memberikan pengetahuan dan praktik serta membantu para guru dalam 1) Pemanfaatan TIK dalam kegiatan pembelajaran selama pandemic covid-19; dan 2) teknik pengembangan dan penggunaan aplikasi animaker sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif di era pandemi covid-19. Tahapan pengabdian yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, follow-up dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu guru-guru di Kabupaten Kudus dapat: 1) memperoleh informasi dan pengetahuan tentang pemilihan strategi dalam proses pembelajaran sekaligus pembuatan media pembelajaran selama pandemic covid-19; 2) menerapkan aplikasi animaker sebagai software alternative untuk membuat media pembelajaran; dan 3) membuat media pembelajaran yang mampu menarik minat anak untuk belajar.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the ability to understand mathematics learning (understanding) students are still low, both junior high school. The ability to understand mathematics (understanding) in online learning needs to be developed for students to be able to understand the explanation of mathematical material. In online learning, many students find it difficult to implement learning. To overcome this, online learning with the ability to understand mathematics requires appropriate media and learning models in the learning process to be more effective. The alternative learning media used is Moodle-based media. With Moodle-based media, students will find it easier in the learning process. Online, mathematics learning can be accessed anywhere so that it is effective and flexible. Meanwhile, the learning model applied is the discovery learning model. Through the discovery learning model, students will be more active in the learning process. It can be concluded that students’ mathematical understanding abilities in online learning will be better if using Moodle-based media and with discovery learning models.

Abstract

Penguasaan bahasa Inggris merupakan faktor penentu dalam era globalisasi dan merupakan salah satu keberhasilan pembelajaran di pendidikan tinggi. Kemampuan bahasa Inggris siswa dalam Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika di Universitas Muria Kudus dapat dikembangkan melalui kursus Pendidikan Matematika Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan bahasa Inggris siswa melalui model pembelajaran angka konsep bahan kalimat dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris Pendidikan Matematika; (2) mengetahui aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran melalui model pembelajaran kalimat konsep pada nomor materi dalam kursus Pendidikan Matematika Bahasa Inggris; dan (3) mengetahui respon siswa terhadap model pembelajaran kalimat konsep pada nomor materi dalam kursus Bahasa Inggris Pendidikan Matematika. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika di Universitas Muria Kudus. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental melalui model pembelajaran kalimat konsep dengan teknik pretest posttest one group. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Model pembelajaran kalimat konsep pada nomor materi dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di Pendidikan Matematika dapat meningkatkan kemahiran bahasa Inggris siswa; 2) Ada perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kemahiran bahasa Inggris rata-rata siswa antara sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran kalimat konsep pada materi angka dalam kursus Pendidikan Matematika Bahasa Inggris; dan 3) Tanggapan siswa terhadap model pembelajaran kalimat konsep pada nomor materi dalam kursus Bahasa Inggris Pendidikan Matematika
