Abstract

Infant Low Birth Weight (LBW) is still a problem in the health sector especially perinatal health. The prevalence of LBW estimated 15% of all births in the world with limits from 3.3 to 38%. Nationally, the numbers of LBW in 2007 was 11.1% experienced a slight decline of about 10.2% in 2013. About 56% of infant deaths occurr in the neonatal and most neonatal deaths occur in 0-6 days (78.5%), mostly caused by LBW. The proportion of LBW had increased for a period of five years ie 2011-2015 increased. This study aims to determine the prevalence and characteristics of mothers who give birth with low birth weight in RSU Goeteng Taroenadibrata Purbalingga. This research is quantitative descriptive design. Sampling in this study using total sampling, which were all mothers who gave birth in category of low birth weight in RSU Goeteng Taroenadibrata Purbalingga of years 2013-2015, a number of 512 respondents. Results showed that prevalence of LBW in dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata Purbalingga year 2013-2015 amounted to 16.1%, largely on the classification LBW. Prevalence of LBW is 93.2%, there is an increased prevalence of LBW in 2013-2015, most LBW occurred at the age of the mother is not at risk (20- 35 years) amounted to 73.8%, gestational age are not at risk (> 37 weeks) amounted to 51.6%, did not give birth to Gemelli 85.5%, 52.3% multiparous parity, women with complications of pregnancy amounted to 68.9%. The hospital is expected to publish policies for health workers and pregnant women about the preventive efforts of LBW. Keywords: Prevalence, Characteristics, Mother with LBW Infant

Abstract

ccording to the MOH in 2010, the direct cause of maternal deaths in Indonesia related to pregnancyand childbirth, especially that of bleeding (28%), then that is pre-eclampsia (24%), infection (11%),complications of puerperium (8%), prolonged labor / loss (5%), abortion (5%), and others (14%).Although abortion is not the biggest cause of maternal mortality, but the incidence of this requiresmore attention because abortion can cause complications such as bleeding, perforation, sepsis, andshock which can ultimately lead to maternal death. Hospital Cilacap in the incidence of abortion in2012 as many as 331 cases (12.7%) of pregnant women in 2595, increased in 2013 as many as 355cases (13.8%) out of 2557 pregnant women. The purpose of this study to know the description of riskfactors associated with abortion in pregnant women in hospitals Cilacap in 2013 based on maternalage, parity, history of abortion, and pregnancy spacing. This research method using retrospectivestudy approach. This study uses secondary data taken in August, 2013 in General Hospital Cilacap.Sampling using sampling saturated with the number of 355 respondents. Abstract

Nutritional status during pregnancy will affect the nutritional status of newborns. Anemia and in pregnancy can affect the growth and development of the fetus during pregnancy and thereafter such as LBW, stunting at infants and toddlers. RSUD dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata as Referral Hospital from Puskesmas inside and outside Purbalingga. The aim of this research is to know the relationship of nutritional status during pregnancy to the weight and length of newborn. Analytic survey research design with cross sectional approach. Sampling technique using puposive sampling, sample of pregnant woman's research is not anemia 20 people and anemia 20 people. Univariate data analysis was in the form of frequency distribution, bivariate analysis in the form of chi square and strength of relationship seen from OR parameter. The result of the research showed that there was correlation between anemia pregnant mother with newborn's body length (p = 0,022) and newborn weight (p = 0,001 ). Anemic pregnant women have 4.8 chances of having a short body length compared to mothers not anemic. Anemic pregnant women have a 9.3 times chance of having LBW compared to mothers not anemic. The health worker handles pregnancy with anemia as early as possible to prevent the growth and development of the fetus. Keywords: Nutritional Status of anemia, birth weight, baby's length
