Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the percentage of ration during the day and night on the performance of medium type roosters in postal cages. This research was conducted in August- October 2018 in a postal cage, Integrated Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The experiment was designed in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments, namely giving ration 30% at day and 70% at night ration (R1), 50% at day and 50% at night (R2), and 70% at day and 30% at night (R3). All treatments were repeated six times with each replication consisting of 8 chickens, so that the total experimental chickens were 144 chickens. The material used in this study was 2 weeks old of Lohman strain chicken. The results showed a significant effect (P<0.05) between the percentage of giving ration at day and night on ration consumption, but no significant effect (P>0.05) on body weight gain, feed conversion, and income over feed cost ( IOFC). The result also showed that giving ration 30% during the day and 70% at night was the best proportion for feed consumption. Keywords: Medium type rooster, Postal cage, Night, Ration, Day

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of tumeric and curcumin on the amount of erythrocytes,leucocytes, and haemoglobin level in the broilers. This study was conducted from Frebruary –March 2013, in the unit of trial poultry house of Rama Jaya Lampung, located in Fajar Baru IIVillage, Jati Agung District, South Lampung. 180 Broilers strain Cobb were used in this study.This study consisted of three treatments, P0: usual drinking water; P1: tumeric boiled water 10g/600 ml; and P2: curcumin boiled water 10 g/600 ml. Each treatment consisted of 6 replicationswith 10 broilers for each replication. 1 broiler was taken from each block of 18 cage blocks forbeing a sample. Then, data obtained were variance analyzed by using significant level of 5% . Ifsignificant result was obtained on the variance analysis, Least Significantly Different Test wascontinued on the significant level of 5% (Steel dan Torrie, 1993).The result of this study showed that tumeric and curcumin were not significantly different(P>0,05) on the amount of erythrocytes, leucocytes, and haemoglobin level. The average of theamount of erythrocytes were P0 (1.128.333/mm3), P1 (1.440.000/mm3), dan P2 (1.386.667/mm3).The average of the amount of leucocytes were P0 (7.767/mm3), P1 (7.792/mm3), dan P2(7.908/mm3). The average of haemoglobin level were P0 (7,6 g/100ml), P1 (8,5 g/100ml), dan P2(8,5 g/100ml). On the treatments given with tumeric and curcumin, they had higher average oferythrocytes, leucocytes, and haemoglobin level than the one without treatments.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the use of turmeric and ginger in the drink water onphysiological responses broiler and determine the best treatment of the physiological responsesbroiler. The experiment was conducted in February -- March 2013 in the experimental cagesowned by PT. Rama Jaya Lampung is located in the village of Fajar Baru II, Jati Agung District,South Lampung Regency. Chickens used were as many as 180 Cobb broiler strain tail. Thisresearch was conducted using Completely Randomized Design with three treatments and sixreplications. The treatment given in this research is T0 : normal drink water; T1 : turmeric boiledwater 10 g/600 ml, and T2 : ginger boiled water 10 g/600 ml. Physiological responses samplingperformed 10 % of the number of experimental units. Then the data were analyzed using a rangeof 5% significance level and atau1% (Steel and Torrie, 1993). Variables measured wererespiratory rate, heart rate, and rectal temperature. Based on the results of this study thatadministration of turmeric and ginger on broiler aged 16 and 24 days did not significantly affectrespiratory rate, heart rate, and rectal temperature.

Abstract

Lampung Province as a livestock area resulted in needed for food supplies that available onfollow throughout the years, so the attempted of feed based on agriculture waste industry, one of themis pineapple leaves. However, the pineapple leaves in a fresh condition have a high crude fiber contentand low protein content. Therefore, the pineapple leaves will be ammoniateed with urea addition atdifferent dosages in order to lessen the high fiber content. This study aimed to determine the effect ofurea and the best dosage on ammoniation of pineapple leaves of Smooth cayene variety onorganoleptic (color, texture, smell), dry matter, ash, and crude fiber content.This study was held in the Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Feed, Department of AnimalHusbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, Lampung University and pineapple leaves samples obtained fromPT Great Giant Pineapple, Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung. The treatments using a CompletelyRandomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The treatments consist of ureaaddition at a dosage of 0%; 1,5%; 3% and 4,5%. The observation data were analyzed by usingvariance analysis with significant level of 5% and or 1%, and will be followed by the Least SignificantDifference test (LSD) if the value of the variance analysis showed the significant result.The results of this study showed that urea addition at different dossages had no significant effect(P>0,05) on organoleptic (color, texture, smell) and crude fiber content of pineapple leaves, butsignificantly (P<0,05) to the ash content and was highly significant (P<0,01) to the dry matter. Thebest treatment on ammoniation of pineapple leaves of Smooth cayenne variety is urea addition atdosage of 1,5%.

Abstract

The purpose of this observation was to know the effect of suplementation lactic acid bacteria inoculum, flour cassava, and the combination between lactic acid bacteria inoculum and flour cassava to  pH value, NH3, and silage nutritional quality of waste cassava plant.  This observation used Complately Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions.  The treatment consists of P0: silage of waste cassava plant without suplementation, P1: silage of waste cassava plant with 30 ml lactic acid bacteria inoculum suplementation, P2: silage of waste cassava plant with 5%  flour cassava suplementation, dan P3: silage of waste cassava plant with combination between lactic acid bacteria inoculum and flour cassava suplementation.  The result of this observation showed that significant effect (P<0,01) to pH value, NH3, the levels of dry matter, and crude fiber silage of waste cassava plant, besides the treatment gave significant effect (P<0,05) to the ash content.  The levels of ether extract, crude protein content, and Nitrogen Free Extract (NFE) had not significant affected (P>0,05).

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know the influence of using turmeric and curcuma toward antibody titer AvianInfluenza (AI), Infectious Bursal Desease (IBD), and Newcastle Desease (ND) at broiler. This research isimplemented from February--March 2013 at PT. Rama Jaya Lampung experiments shed in Fajar Baru II village, JatiAgung Sub-district, South Lampung regency. The chicken that used is broiler rooster strain Cobb as much as 180head. This research is implemented by using Complete Random Design (CRD) with three treatment and sixrepetition. The treatment that used is regular water (P0); turmeric stew water 10 g/600 ml (P1); and curcuma stewwater 10 g/600 ml (P2). Taking of blood sample is implemented as much as 20% from total unit experiment. Thedata from this research is tested by using descriptive test. The mean of antibody titer Avian Influenza that producedafter 20 days vaccination is P0 (0,33 log 2), P1 (0,17 log 2), and P2 (0, 17 log 2). The mean of antibody titerInfectious Bursal Desease that produced after 15 days vaccination is P0 (6.400,92), P1 (4.391,43), and P2(5.098,50). The mean of antibody titer Newcastle Desease that produced after 20 days vaccination is P0 (4,42 log 2),P1 (4,42 log 2), and (5,00 log 2). The result of this research shows that by giving turmeric stew water have notpositive influence toward antibody titer Avian Influenza, Infectious Bursal Desease, and Newcastle Desease (P1lower than P0), meanwhile by giving curcuma have not positive influence toward antibody titer Avian Influenza andInfectious Bursal Desease (P2 lower than P0), but have positive influence toward antibody titer Newcastle Desease(P2 higher than P0).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the best strain of the performance of medium type roosters fed commercial broiler rations.  This study conducted for 7 weeks from 19 may to 06   july 2012, in the chicken coop department of animal husbandry, faculty of agriculture, University of  Lampung. The chicken is a rooster who used medium type strain Isa Brown and  Lohman each as much as 100  individuals.  This study compared two treatments are different strains rooster medium type  Isa Brown rooster and Lohman medium type srtain. Data obtained from the study were analyzed using student t-test on the real level of 5%.  The variables measured were ration consumpion, body weight gain, conversion ratio, and income over feed cost (IOFC).  The results showed that the strain Isa Brown had ration consumption  and body weight were significantly (P<0.05) higher than Lohman strain, but the conversion ratio and the type of medium IOFC cock  both strains were not significantly (P>0.05) . Abstract

The experiment was conducted for 1 mounth from 27th August to 26th September 2012, in the village of Campang, District Gisting, Regency of Tanggamus. Goats are used is pasca-weaning Boerawa goat as many as 20 goats with an average initial weight of 18,25 ± 6,13 kg/goats. This research used randomized block design, consisting of four treatments, with repeated five times, they are R0: bassal feeding, R1: bassal feeding + concentrate (Crude Protein 13%), R2: bassal feeding + concentrate (CP 16%), and R3: bassal feeding + concentrate (CP 19%). The results shows: (1) a significant effect (P <0.05) additions concentrates on bassal feeding to organic matter digestibility Boerawa goats pasca-weaning, the opposite effect was not significant (P>0.05) for dry matter digestibility, and (2) the best effect of the addition of concentrates in the bassal feeding to organic matter digestibility.

Abstract

Rooster medium type are constitute by-product of effort petelur's chicken hatch, one that is developed as breed of flesh producer. The success of the farm rooster medium type is influenced by many factors both external and internal factors. One of the internal factors which is also important in determining the growth rate is strain. The research aimed to determine the strain of roosters medium type which has better live weight, carcass, giblet, and abdominal fat by giving commercial broiler ration.  This research was up to 7 weeks of held from 19 May--7 July 2012 in the chicken coop of Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The roosters used are roosters medium type strain Isa Brown and Lohman as many as 200 heads (with each strain 100 tails). This research consisted of two treatments, those are T1: Roosters medium type strain Isa Brown and T2: Roosters medium type strain Lohman. For each treatment consisted of 20 experimental plots with the trial unit for each plot is 5 heads. Of each that slot is taken 1 chicken to be made sample for pruned. The data obtained from this research was analyzed by using t-student test with significant level of 5% (Steel and Torrie, 1993). The variables observed were live weight, carcass, giblet and abdominal fat. The result of this research shows that: strain Isa Brown having living wight and karkas's wight the better than strain Lohman , although wight giblet and resulting abdominal fat both of strain that not different reality (P>0,05). Abstract

The objective of the research was to know comparation of two strains of  broiler performance which were consumed with kunyit water.  Level of water kunyit as treatment was 10 g/600 ml.  Two strains of broiler were CP 707 unsexed and Lohmann unsexed. Every broiler strain consist of 100 Day Old Chicken (DOC).    Experiment  was  designed  with  two  treatments  of  strain  broiler  and  each  treatment  had  15 replications. Each replication was 6 or 7 DOC. Comparison of data was analyzed by using  t student on 5%  signification    (Steel  dan  Torrie,  1993).  Parameters  measured  were  water  consumption,  feed  intake, body weight gain, feed conversion, and income over feed cost. Results showed the highest effect of kunyit water  significant  (P<0,05)  of  broiler  performance  of  strain  CP  707  on  water  consumption,  feed  intake, and body weight gain, but no significant effect on feed conversion, and income over feed cost. Broiler of strain  CP 707 was the responsive to treated water kunyit of consumption which shown on its effect on performance.
