Abstract

Lecturer plays an important role in teaching Englishas a foreign language, in spite of the success of teaching English itself depends on the many factors, one of them is students’ participation in the English class. In the other words, the teaching of English becomes useful and more systematically when the lecturer is fully aware of the aims and values of teaching of English subject since the core principle of any teaching  is “know what you do and only do what you know”. Hence it is essential to understand the aims and values of teaching English. In linguistics study,performance and competence are different, competence is study about language rules in the abstract form or one’s capacity to use a language, while performance is the application of one’s ability in the concrete form, or the actual application of this competence in speaking or listening. Chomsky (1965:18) said that  performance is the effect or the application of competence. Further he said that clearly, the actual data of linguistic performance will provide much evidence for determining the correctness of hypotheses about underlining linguistic structure. Notice the following figure. The data collection procedures in the present study are based on classroom participant observation, student interviews, and questionnaire  are the primary sources of data collection. As a point of departure, unstructured interviews conducted with English and students to gain initial understanding of the learning English as a foreign language. This also serves as a pilot study, paving the way for designing the guidelines for the semi structured individual interviews. Notes taken in these unstructured interviews were included in the data analysis. Taking lecture involves the lecturer and the students in formal setting. Lecturer is one who transfers special knowledge (English teaching materials) to his students in form of academic setting. They are engaged in academic norms, for example lecturer has qualified education (magister or doctorate degree) and the students  have already registered their status as a university student. The lecturer’s function is threefold. In the presentation stage of the material, the lecturer serves as a model, setting up situations in which the need for the target structure is created and modeling the new structure for students to repeat. The lecturer was required to be skillful manipulator, using questions, commands, and other cues to elicit correct sentences from the students. The students wanted the lecturer to give more opportunities for English practice. They can learn from mistakes and develop in real situation. Role play is one of methods can be applied in teaching English. The students like this methods (96%) because they can imitate and practice their English pronunciation.

Abstract

Today, especially during the covid-19 pandemic, as it is today, all activities of educational institutions or madrasas/schools must carry out the online learning process. One of the learning innovations that can be carried out by madrasas/schools is by implementing blended learning-based distance learning. This study aims to determine how management, learning planning, and evaluation of learning based on blended learning are carried out at MA Al Azhar, Banjar, Indonesia. The number of respondents in this study consisted of 15 teachers spread across various fields of study. The study used qualitative data analysis techniques with descriptive methods. As a result, research shows that at the planning stage, schools had previously formulated a special curriculum that was adapted to the blended learning model carried out during the covid-19 pandemic, this was also supported by very adequate learning facilities and infrastructure. At the implementation stage, there are differences in the use of the learning approach with real events in the field, namely the time shift in utilizing learning. MA Al Azhar applies a 50% system: 50% in the use of learning, a week of face-to-face learning and the following week is an online system. At the evaluation stage, MA Al Azhar carried out face-to-face and online-based evaluations such as the use of evaluations through recapitulation results on google classroom and excel on google classroom.

Abstract

Pendidikan kepramukaan merupakan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler yang wajib dilaksanakan oleh satuan pendidikan sesuai kurikulum 2013 dalam membentuk karakter peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan serta memperoleh gambaran tentang manajemen kepramukaan di SMA Negeri Kota Bandung yang dikaji berdasarkan implementasi pendidikan kepramukaan, faktor penghambat, solusi mengatasi hambatan, dan hasil dari pendidikan kepramukaan terhadap karakter siswa. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui teknik observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, Implementasi manajemen pendidikan kepramukaan dalam membentuk karakter peserta didik di SMA Negeri Kota Bandung secara umum dilakukan melalui tahapan manajemen namun belum maksimal menginternalisasikan nilai-nilai kepramukaan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dikarenakan masih terhambat oleh kompetensi pendidik, motivasi peserta didik dalam berorganisasi, dan peran serta orang tua peserta didik.

Abstract

This study aims to find educational values in the procession of elopement. The term of elepement refers to an activity consciously carried out by two people (a man and a woman) to make an agreement to become a legal husband and wife. Meanwhile, value education in this context refers to the attributes that characterize the behavior of the activity. Researchers used a qualitative approach with the method of observation and interviews. The observation method was non-participant, while the interview was conducted in depth. The selection of respondents as the object of the interview was carried out in a purposeful manner. The data obtained from the use of the two methods were used as valid data for in-depth analysis to give new findings or new theories. The findings of this study indicated that the elopement activity carried out by male and female couples has become the culture of the local community to lead to a legal husband and wife. This accompaniment activity is only carried out by couples who have a low level of education. In other words, contraband rarely or even does not occur in highly educated (bachelor) couples. Education contributes positively to awareness and prevents these stragglers from acting as shortcuts or imposing their will because the woman's parents do not agree with her daughter's husband-to-be.

Abstract

This study aims to find the forms of respect used by the Bima Dompu community in their social interactions as the actualization of value education in the form of respect. In other words, applying the form of RESPECTS is the actualization of value education for the Bima Dompu community. The state of respectless in Indonesia language is called bentuk hormatan. Researchers used a qualitative approach (description). This approach describes phenomena or events that occur naturally. The methods used in this research were the observation and interview methods. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. The research location was in the Bima district, West Nusa Tenggara academic year 2020. The study’s findings indicated that the Bima Dompu community uses a form of RESPECTS to actualize educational values in their social interactions. Applying the importance of this form of RESPECTS has become a tradition and characteristic of those communities. An example of a state of RESPECTS (mention someone’s name) is if the person's name is Ahmad, becomes Hima for a nickname for people younger than that person. While the mention of a form of RESPECTS for the age and older than the age in calling still mentions the original name (Ahmad). This is a concrete form of teaching the values of politeness education passed down from generation to generation to create a nuance of harmony in society

Abstract

Abstract: Identifying lecturer–student interaction and preference toward four english skills. Objectives: The aim of this research was to find out the patterns of classroom interaction and preference toward four English skills for students of  Islamic Financial Banking Department. Methods: The data collection procedures in the research were based on classroom participant observation, student interviews, and questionnaire. The language that used for student interviews was English, and sometimes combined with Indonesia language. The last instrument was questionnaire used to know the students’ preference toward four English skills. Findings: The findings of this research indicated that the classroom interaction can be created through mutual understanding and appriciating between lecturer and student, in form of the manner of lecturer’s performance in the classroom, presenting interested and motivated materials, and applying reinforcement. Conclusions: The students’ preference toward four English skills indicated that 61 (61%) students liked reading skill very much.Keywords: Lecturer-student interaction, four English skills, interview. Abstrak: Mengidentifikasi interaksi dosen-mahasiswa dan kecenderungan terhadap empat keterampilan berbahasa inggris. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan pola-pola interaksi dalam kelas dan mengidentifikasi kecenderungan terhadap empat keterampilan berbahasa Inggris bagi mahasiswa jurusan Perbankan Syariah. Metode: Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan angket. Wawancara menggunakan bahasa Inggris, dan dalam hal tertentu menggunakan bahasa Indonesia. Angket digunakan untuk mengetahui tingkat kecenderungan mahasiswa terhadap empat keterampilan berbahasa Inggris. Temuan: Interaksi dalam kelas dapat tercipta karena adanya saling memahami dan menghargai antara dosen dan mahasiswa, dalam hal ini dosen menampilkan performa yang layak dan meyakinkan dalam menyajikan materi ajar dan memotivasi mahasiswa, serta menerapkan metode reinforcement. Kesimpulan: Kecenderungan mahasiswa terhadap empat keterampilan berbahasa Inggris ditunjukkan dengan 61% mahasiswa cenderung menyukai keterampilan membaca. Kata kunci: Interaksi dosen-mahasiswa, empat keterampilan berbahasa inggris, wawancara. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v9.i2.201918

Abstract

The background of this research is that there has not been a habit of using academic information systems by both lecturers and students, there are no educational staff from the field of computer science or informatics, and the limited budget they have. This research approach is a qualitative research with case study method. The results of this study indicate that academic information system planning refers to the blue print for the development, management and utilization of higher education information systems. The organization assigns a direct assistant to the Head of Academic and Student Affairs who is assisted by two operators, whose operational direction is based on a decree issued by the leadership which is fully managed by the Telecommunications Center. Coordination of academic information systems based on the participation and support of all parties. Control is carried out directly by the Chairman as the leader. The obstacles faced in general are that there is no budget available considering the need for the development of an Academic Information System that requires a large amount of money, the age of most of the lecturers is old so it is quite difficult to adapt to changes towards digital and the ability of lecturers to use information systems is still low. The solution is to encourage students and lecturers to want to get used to adapting and learning in the use of academic information systems

Abstract

ABSTRACT Caring behavior (care) of nurses is a guarantee of quality care services. Caring is a term that should be synonymous with nursing. Most students choose to enter nursing because they have a desire to care for others. While some nurses may be skilled, being a real nurse can be judged by the caring behavior they provide to clients. Caring is the essence of nursing which means responsiveness between nurses and clients. Knowledge of management strategies for improving Caring behavior in nursing care. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. This study resulted in five themes, the themes are 1) Planning strategies for improving Caring behavior in nursing care 2) Organizing an increase in Caring behavior in nursing care 3) Implementation of strategies for improving Caring behavior in nursing care 4) Evaluation of improving Caring behavior in nursing care 5) Factors the obstacles faced and solutions to overcome the inhibiting factors for increasing Caring behavior in nursing care. Caring behavior improvement strategy in nursing care is to form an altruistic humanistic value system that is taught to students while undergoing nursing education so that they have human values through planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating. Keywords: Strategy, Caring Behavior, Nursing Care  ABSTRAK Perilaku Caring (kepedulian) perawat menjadi jaminan akan layanan perawatan bermutu. Caring adalah istilah yang harus identik dengan keperawatan. Sebagian besar siswa memilih untuk masuk keperawatan karena mereka memiliki keinginan untuk peduli dengan orang lain. Sementara beberapa perawat mungkin terampil, namun menjadi perawat yang sesungguhnya dapat dinilai dari prilaku Caring yang mereka berikan ke klien. Caring merupakan intisari dari keperawatan yang mengandung arti responsive antara perawat dengan klien. Diketahuinya manajemen strategi peningkatan perilaku Caring dalam asuhan keperawatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Penelitian ini menghasilkan lima tema, tema tersebut yaitu 1) Perencanaan staregi peningkatan perilaku Caring dalam asuhan keperawatan 2) Pengorganisasian peningkatan perilaku Caring dalam asuhan keperawatan 3) Implementasi strategi peningkatan perilaku Caring dalam asuhan keperawatan 4) Evaluasi peningkatan perilaku Caring dalam asuhan keperawatan 5) Faktor penghambat yang dihadapi dan solusi mengatasi faktor penghambat peningkatan perilaku Caring dalam asuhan keperawatan. Strategi peningkatan perilaku Caring dalam asuhan keperawatan yaitu membentuk sistem nilai humanistik altruistik  yang diajarkan kepada mahasiswa saat menjalani pendidikan keperawatan agar memiliki nilai-nilai kemanusiaan melaui perencanaan, pengorganisasia, implementasi dan evaluasi. Kata Kunci: Strategi, Perilaku Caring, Asuhan Keperawatan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis manajemen supervise akademik dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru di SDN Dewi Sartika CBM Kota Sukabumi, dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriftif kualitatif. Studi dilakukan dengan menganalisis tahapan Perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan penilaian yang dilaksanakan di sekolah. Penelitian diawali dengan melakukan wawancara dan observasi lapangan. Dengan indicator perencanaan sebagai berikut: 1) mengidentifikasi perencanaan supervise, 2) merumuskan tujuan dan kriteria output supervise akademik, 3) menyusun jadwal supervise akademik, 4) menelaah instrument supervise akademik. Indicator pengorganisasian: 1) menentukan pelaksanaan supervise, 2) menentukan guru yang akan disupervisi. Indicator pelaksanaan: 1) menelaah administrasi perangkat pembelajaran, 2) menelaah rencana pelaksanaan pembeajaran, 3) melaksanakan supervise pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran, 4) melaksanakan supervise penilaian hasil belajar. Sedangkan indicator penilaian meliputi: 1) observasi supervise penilaian hasil belajar, 2) melakukan analisis hasil pengamatan pelaksanaan pembelajaran, 3) analisis data supervise akademik, 4) menentukan tindak lanjut supervise akademik. Manajemen supervise akademik ini dirasakan sangat perlu untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru terutama pendampingan guru di kegiatan pembelajaran implementasi kurikulum merdeka. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan observasi lapangan ditemukan ketercapaian sekitar 74,38% dengan kriteria cukup dalam kompetensi pedagogic guru membuat perencanaan, melaksanakan pembelajaran dan penilaian pembelajaran.

Abstract

The Open University provides study assistance services to students in the form of a Tutorial program. The implementation of the Tutorial managed by the Tutor as a facilitator has not run optimally. This situation becomes the background of the research problem. The purpose of this research is to analyze the management of Tuton and Tuweb tutors. The theory used is in the form of management functions initiated by Terry. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach that reveals the situation by describing the reality correctly and naturally in the distance learning procession. Data was collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and triangulation. The data obtained were then reduced, presented, and concluded. The results of the research generally reveal that management functions have been carried out but their implementation has not been fully implemented. Specific conclusions show (1) Planning: carrying out tutorial preparation meetings and tutor evaluations. (2) Organizing: determine the standardization of Tutors, standardization of recruitment, employment contracts, letters of assignment, and decrees for Tutors Tutons, and letters of assignments for Tutors Tuwebs. (3) Mobilization: organizing Tutor training and refreshment, Whatsapp Group communication, providing reminders and motivation, (4). Controlling: Tuton tutors do not have a routine control schedule yet. Tuweb tutors have a regular control schedule. (5) There are obstacles and solutions as well as future improvements. From these general and specific conclusions, the researcher recommends the Tutor management model to maximize the Tutor management which will have implications for improving the Tutor's performance in managing the Tutorial class.
