Abstract

Translation techniques are expected to be solutions to cope with translation problems faced by translators. Due to this reason, translation learners are taught these techniques to be their provision in handling translation problems they will face as professional translators. This research is aimed at giving comprehension of the using translation techniques tendency in informal letter translation. Case study method is used in this research to analyze how English Letters students who have learnt translation through qualitative approach and document data collecting technique. This research uses Molina & Albir's (2002)Translation Techniques to identify the translation technniques used by the students.The result shows that the dominance of literal translation technique by a very significant data finding from the eleven techniques used with normal distribution ranging from 17 until 27 data per students.In the next research, it is hoped that there will be wider scope of study to analyze the trends of translation techniques in those students’ affiliation.Keywords: Literal Translation, Teknik Penerjemahan, Informal Letter

Abstract

Keberterimaan ilmu pengetahuan oleh santri menjadi daya ukur keberhasilan lembaga pendidikan melalui metode-metode yang diselenggarakan selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Keberagaman latar belakang mahasiswa dan kepakaran dosen menjadi pertimbangan dalam pemilihan thariqah pembelajaran bahasa Arab yang dapat berterima dan mampu mendorong pemercepatan pemahaman dan penggunaan bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap sejauh mana thariqah qawaid tarjamah dipergunakan sebagai metode pembelajaran yang relevan di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkap orientasi akademik memosisikan bahasa Arab selaku obyek studi kajian ilmiah yang diawali dengan thariqah qawaid tarjamah. Thariqah qawaid tarjamah erat kaitannya dengan analisis tata bahasa (qawaid), penghafalan kosakata (mufrodat), penerjemahan wacana dan latihan menulis (kitabah). Thariqah qawaid tarjamah diindikasikan melalui proses pembelajaran sebagai berikut: 1) fokus belajar berupa pendalaman dan pengasahan keterampilan membaca, menulis dan menerjemah; 2) penggunaan bahasa ibu; 3) kaidah nahwu tetap diperhatikan; 4) pengutamaan pembelajaran pada keberhasilan penguasaan mufrodat; 5) pengajar lebih mendominasi proses pembelajaran; 6) pembelajar difokuskan memelajari teks bacaan dengan rinci; 7) sumber belajar umumnya berupa teks literatur; dan, 8) gramatika lebih banyak dihafal. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penelitian lanjutan yang memfokuskan pada implementasi thariqah qawaid tarjamah secara mendalam.

Abstract

Background: Students who have a good understanding of mathematics tend to have proud learning achievements. Good mathematics learning outcomes are influenced by intelligence and material mastery. However, teachers interact more with the white board than with students. students feel less enthusiastic because the teacher asks students to listen during the delivery of the lecture. Purpose: This study aims to determine the appropriate method in conveying integer material to elementary school students. Design and methods: This research uses classroom action research methods on 25 of fifth grade students of SD Negeri Cibunian in the second semester. This classroom action research adapted the cycle scheme proposed by Kemmis and Taggart. This scheme consists of a series of plots, including planning, acting, observing, reflecting, and revised plans for each cycle. Results: The results of this study reveal the use of number lines in mathematics subject matter integers in class V can improve student learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the percentage of students who score above the pre-cycle passing score of 28% or 7 students complete learning, in the first cycle it increases to 56% or 14 students complete their learning, and in the second cycle it reaches 80% or 20 students complete learning.

Abstract

Pembelajaran dan pemerolehan bahasa Arab dapat mendorong meningkatkan perkembangan intelektualitas. Namun, mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Arab Universitas Djuanda yang berasal dari sekolah umum merasa asing dengan tipikal pembelajaran bahasa arab di kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui selera mahasiswa dalam menuliskan cerpen berbahasa arab, khususnya dalam menuliskan pembukaan cerita. Studi kasus ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui analisis deskriptif. Data penelitian ini berupa dokumen manuskrip teks narasi. Manuskrip hasil tugas cerita bahasa Arab pada mata kuliah Al Kitabah diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia dan ditelaah untuk menemukan tenor penulisan. Teknik triangulasi dilakukan untuk menguji validitas dan reliabilitas data dengan mengelompokan temuan dokumen dalam kategori jenis pembukaan dan dikonfirmasi melalui wawancara ke beberapa mahasiswa (responden) secara acak. Penelitian ini mengungkap 48% mahasiswa tetap menggunakan pembukaan berjenis deskripsi karakter. Mayoritas mahasiswa masih menggunakan teknik penulisan yang bersifat kultural yang didasari pada pemerolehan bahasa semenjak menjalani proses pembelajaran di sekolah hingga perguruan tinggi. Penelitian berikutnya disarankan untuk pembahasan struktur naratif dengan variasi lainnya (konflik, klimaks, penyelesaian, dan/atau penutup) ataupun dari sudut pandang lainnya yang menghasilkan kebaruan khususnya dalam dunia penulisan naratif

Abstract

Background: The writer interested to analyze the code switching and code mixing in Suhay Salim’s video because she is a bilingual speaker. She is able to speak both Bahasa and English. In each her video, Suhay Salim always uses code switching and code mixing. Purpose: The objective of this research is to know the types of code switching and code mixing used in the video, and also to know the reasons why the speaker used code switching and code mixing in her YouTube video. Design and methods: The data were collected through library research. The method of this research is descriptive qualitative method. Results: The result of this analysis is indicated that: (1) Types of code switching that found are situational code switching and metaphorical code switching. (2) types of code mixing found are insertion and alternation. (3) while the reasons to use code switching and code mixing are talking about particular topic, real lexical need, interjection, repetition used for clarification, and expressing group identity.
