ABSTRACT Green bond has something to do with the loan aimed to support green project. Green bond is regulated in the Regulation of Financial Services Authority (hereinafter POJK) Number 60/OJK.04/2017 concerning Issuance and Requirement of Enviro-friendly (Green Bond) Debt Security. However, the indicators regarding propriety of the green project are not clearly regulated in POJK 60/OJK.04/2017. Unlike Indonesia, People’s Republic of Chine has issued the regulation of Green Bond in details and completely. Based on the issue, the legal issues discussed in this research involve: 1) what legal protection is given to Green Bond investors in regard to Greenwashing risk according to the POJK Number 60/POJK.04/2017 concerning Issuance and Requirement of Enviro-friendly Debt Security (green Bond)? And 2) How are Green Bonds in Indonesia and in People’s Republic of China compared? This research employed normative juridical method with statute and comparative approaches. The discussion of this research concludes that: 1) POJK 60/POJK.04/2017 has scarcely provided preventive legal protection for Green Bond investors from Greenwashing risk. Repressive legal protection refers to Article 90 and Article 104 of Act Number 8 of 1995 concerning Capital Market, and 2) Unlike Indonesia, People’s Republic of China provides more detailed rules in terms of providing preventive legal protection for Green Bond investors regarding Greenwashing risk, but China does not specifically regulate the repressive legal protection.
