Abstract

Brassica juncea is one of vegetable consumed by many people. One of the ways to expand genetic diversity is by inducing the occurrence of mutations. Mutations can be induced by offering chemical mutagens as well as physical mutagens. One of chemical have been successful to induce mutation is colchicine. The aim of this research was to determine effect of colchicine on Brassica growth. This research was conducted in June 2019 in the Experimental Field, Labuhanbatu University. The result show that soaking brassica seeds using colchicine make a decrease in the average plant height, leaf widht and number of leaves compare to control cause abnormal cell division. Abstract

The objectives of this research is to know the production of Dena-1 varieties under and without oil palm tree (TM 8) using peat soil media in polybags. The results showed that there were differences in the production of Dena 1 soybean varieties planted under palm and open areas using peat soil media, where soybeans planted under oil palm (TM8) were unable to produce only reach vegetative growth, while soybeans were planted in the open yields average number of pods of 5-6 plant pods, average number of seeds of 10 crop seeds and average seed weight of 1.31 grams of planting. Keywords: crop, peat, soybean

Abstract

Today many processed foods using basic materials out. The growing industry out even more rapidly and produce abundant waste. Industrial know in the treatment process generates solid waste and liquid waste. Solid waste is generated from the screening process and clotting, this waste is usually processed into tempe gembus and fodder. The liquid waste is generated out of the washing process, boiling and printing out, therefore the volume of wastewater produced is very high.Waste know will cause a lot of environmental problems. Liquid waste contains high levels of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and acidity (pH) is high. However, effluent, rich in organic matter such as proteins, carbohydrates, fats, oils and much more. The study was therefore to utilize liquid waste know as ameliorant land will be required. This research aims to use wastewater know that abundant in society as ameliorant soil to improve plant growth and production. This study uses a randomized complete block design (RBD) with four treatments (0 ml, 100 ml, 250 ml and 400 ml / plant). Plants indicators used in this study is pakcoi mustard (Brassica few). The results showed that the liquid waste out can improve soil chemical properties and a positive influence on the growth and yield of pakcoi. Giving liquid waste out with a dose of 400ml / plant gives the best results in improving soil fertility, growth and crop production pakcoi. Abstract

Patchouli (PogostemoncablinBenth) is a plant that has been known to take oil extraction. One of the patchouli propagation techniques is cuttings. This research aims to get the best consentration of induced of Patchouli root. The research was conducted in STIPER Labuhanbatufrom January 2017 to June 2017. The plant material was Patchouli at the cuttings with a bud. The results showed that the best concentration to obtain a high percentage of life (90%), root length (22.27 cm) and the highest number of roots (5.03 units) in patchouli plants was treated with a 25 ppm IBA immersion. Keywords: bud, cuttings, extraction, propagation

Abstract

The fish waste can be utilized to be one of the profitable products, including Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC). Utilization of POC rich in macro and micro elements is expected to increase the growth and production of Ipomoea reptans Poir. In this study studied the technique of processing fish waste into Liquid Organic Fertilizer and apply it to Ipomoea reptans Poir. The results showed that POC of fish waste in kangkung plants with 10, 20, and 30 mL doses significantly increased plant height compared to without POC, and the best result was obtained in POC 30 mL because it can increase plant height growth from 29,35 cm (control) to 32.75 cm. The provision of POC in the number of leaves increase no significant effect. Unlike the case with the observation of Fresh Weight Plant after the provision of POC-based waste fish. The results showed that POC was significantly influenced by observation of fresh weight of plant, where the highest weight (113,33 gram) was obtained at kangkung plant after POC 30 ml, while the lowest (47,66 gram) was shown by plant without POC. Keywords: Ipomoea reptans, Fish Waste, Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC)

Abstract

This study aims to see the differences in the speed of sprout growth with immersion systems and without water immersion. The results showed that there were differences percentage of seeds germinated between seeds that were given water immersion for 12 hours (85%) and were not given water immersion (65%). For the other parameter average days of sprouting, where the seeds that are given water immersion are more quickly induced by sprouts as much as 60% age 7 days after seedling, compared not given water immersion can only be induced by 40%. Likewise, the 17th day after the seedlings were induced by 85% for soaking seeds and 65% for seeds that were not soaking. Keywords: Rubber, Sprout, Water immersion

Abstract

Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum indicum L.) is an ornamental plant that is included in an important contribution in the ornamental plant business. Related to chrysanthemum buds grown in vitro in culture tubes or bottles with a tightly closed to avoid bacterial and fungal contamination and to protect the humidity of the culture environment. However, this tight cap often affects the composition of the gas in a jar or bottle, which inhibits plant growth. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of photoautotrophic on the growth of chrysanthemum buds in the in vitro culture process and the differences in invitro and exvitro chrysanthemum stomata. This research was conducted in March 2016 to May 2016 in the Microtechnical Laboratory, IPB University. Research results obtained from research on the position given to research conducted on the number of roots, the number of books and the number of shoots. The influence of the environment of exvitro also significantly affects the number of stomata, stomata width and stomata density. Keywords :ex vitro,  in vitro, photoautotrophic
