Abstract

Developing students skill in solving story-based question is one of infortant objectives mathematics teaching atschool, since such story-based question will upgrade student’s ability in problem solving. Problem solvingability should be possed by students, because through this activity student are expected to understandmathematic materials well, and indirectly the creativity of students can be attracted. In fact, during learningprocess is undergoing, most students find it difficult answering story-based question. On other hand, if thequestion not based on stories, they can answer perfectly. Besides that teachers conjess that they rarely give andteach story-based question for such questionsplaced at last number and teacher are unexperienced on how tosolve the questions. Therefore, class action research is badly needed to increase student learning result basesdon story-based question learning. By doing so, giving story-based question refering to the daily students willgive much attention the use and benefit of mathematics. It stand to reson students will give much attentiontoward the leaning process that will give positive effect toward their learning outcome. The result in thisresearch is learning with started with giving the essay that can increase the studying result of the 1st classstudent in SLTPN at the subdistrict Banuhampu Sungai Puar in Period 2000/2001

Abstract

Abstract: The results of that study are expected by every high school and achieve minimum mastery criteria. Lack of student learning outcomes are influenced by many factors. One is the learning prosess in the classroom. The research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and mathematics achievement with applied the approuch model of Think Pair Square. The subject of this research is student of class IX1 SMP Negeri 22 Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2014/2015, there are 32 students in the class, consist of 12 boys and 20 girls. The research are two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. At the end of each cycle, daily tests are carried out. Data collected through observation and tests in the form of daily tests. Observation is used to collect teacher and student activities during learning process, test is used to collect mathematic outcomes and will given in form daily test. The results show the activity of teachers and students in learning has been in line with the lesson plan and increase in students from the base score with the percentage 15,63% to 37,5 % on the first daily test and 71,88% on the second daily test. Results of this research indicate that the application of Structural Approach to Cooperative Learning Model Think Pair Square can improve learning process and improve the mathematics learning outcomes math class IX1 SMP Negeri 22 Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2014/2015. Abstract

Abstract: The research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and mathematics achievement with applying Quick on the Draw activity in cooperative learning type STAD. The subject of this research is student of class IX.4 SMP Negeri Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2014/2015, there are 34students in the class, consist of 13 boys and 21 girls. This researchis exercised in two cycles, and at the end of every cycle carried out mathematics achievement test. Data collected through observation and mathematics achievement test. The qualitative analysis descriptive narrative showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action of the first cycle to the second cycle. Then theresult of this research showed an increase in students from the base score with the percentage 8.82% to 20.59% on the first test and 64.71% on the second test. The results of the analysis concluded that Quick on the Draw activity in cooperative learning type STAD can improve the students learning achievement at class IX.4 SMP Negeri 22 Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2013/2014. Abstract

Kalkulus I adalah salah satu bidang ilmu yang diharapkan dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir. Hasil belajar Kalkulus I yang dicapai mahasiswa belum maksimal,  disebabkan proses pembelajaran masih bersifat konvensional. Mahasiswa sulit membangun pengetahuannya sendiri untuk menemukan konsep. Proses pembelajaran hanya bersifat skill dalam menyelesaikan soal. Alternatif yang ditempuh untuk meningkatkan prestasi mahasiswa adalah memilih model pembelajaran yang inovatif dan pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dengan menerapkan Reciprocal Teaching dalam model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk; 1) meningkatkan hasil  belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Kalakulus I, 2) mendeskripsikan keterampilan kooperatif dan mengelola  proses pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada Reciprocal Teaching dalam  model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD.  Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas Kolaboratif yang terdiri dari 2 siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari 3 kali untuk tatap muka perkuliahan dan 1 kali untuk pelaksanaan kuis. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 40 orang (6 pria dan 34 wanita). Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan Reciprocal Teaching dalam model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar Kalkulus I  mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Riau semeter ganjil tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is low of mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII4 of 22 Junior High School Pekanbaru in second semester of the 2016/2017 academic year. Subject of this research are 38 students, consist of 19 male and 19 female student with heterogenous level of academic capabilities. The type of this research is the Classroom Action Research that has purpose to improve the learning proses and to increase student’s mathematic learning outcomes by applied the cooperative learning with Talking Stick Type. This research consists of two cycles that each cycle composed of 4 stages, such as planning, implementation, observation and reflection. At every end of a cycle, math achievement test will be held. The research instrument consists of learning devices that involve Syllabus, Lesson Plan and Worksheet, and instrument data collector that involve the observation sheet and math achievement test. Observation sheets is analyzed by narrative descriptive analysis and math achievement test analyzed by statistic descriptive analysis. The result of the research showed that implementation of learning process on cycle II had happened improvement from implementation on cycle I. Weakness on cycle I is improved on implementation cycle II according with planning of improvement after reflection cycle I. Number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria increase from basic score to daily test II. The number of students who reach Minimum Mastery Criteria on basic scor, daily test I and daily test II are respectively 18 person (47,36%), 23 person (60,52%) and 30 person (78,94%). Results of this research indicates that application of Cooperative Learning with Talking Stick Type can improve learning process and increase mathematics learning outcomes from the students of class VIII4 of 22 Junior High School Pekanbaru in second semester of the 2016/2017 academic year at Basic Competencies 5.3 Calculates the surface area and volume of the Beam, Cube, Prism and Pyramid.Key Words: Cooperative Learning, Talking Stick Type, Learning Process, Student Mathematics Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is mathematics learning outcomes to low. This research aims to improve the learning process and improve the student’s mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of Cooperative Learning with Think Pair Square Approach. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research with two cycle. The research was conducted in class VIII.7 SMPN 20 Pekanbaru in the second semester of the 2015/2016 academic year with the subject of as many as 40 students. The research instrument consists of learning devices and instrument data collectors. Learning device used in this research is the Syllabus, RPP and LKS. The instrument data collector used in this research is the observation sheet and math achievement test. Data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis of quantitative data. Based on the data analysis, the percentage of students who achieve KKM on base score is 17 students with a percentage of 42.5% and increased in Kuis I of 21 students with a percentage 52.5% and also an increase in Kuis II at 26 students with a percentage 65%. So, result of the research showed that, the learning process has improved and the student’s mathematics learning outcomes in class VIII.7 SMPN 20 Pekanbaru also increased after applying the Cooperative Learning with Think Pair Square Approach. Cooperative Learning with Think Pair Square Approach can be used as an alternative in learning, because it can improve the learning process and improve the student mathematics learning outcomes.Keywords: Cooperative Learning, Think Pair Square Approach, Learning Process, Student Mathematics Learning Outcomes

Abstract

             Abstract: This classroom action research is aimed at improving learning process and improving math achievement by implementing Cooperative Learning Model with structural Think Pair Square (TPS) Aproach. The research subjects are 40 heterogeneus academic ability level students of the VIII7 class of Junior High School 25 Pekanbaru in academic year of 2016/2017. The research consested of two cycles in which each cycle consisted of four phase, i,e: namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. By the end of cycle, daily test was held. The data was collected by means of observation and daily test. The action success indicators were if there is learning process improvement and the increasing number of students passing Minimum Completeness Criteria (MCC) in daily test I and daily test II. The research shows that teachers and students participated actively in the learning process. Therefore it can be said improvement of learning process took place in every meeting. Furthermore, the number of students passing MCC on base score, daily test I (first cycle), daily test II (second cycle) were respectively 16 students (40%), 20 students (50%), and 28 students (70%). The percentage of MCC achievement also indicates the increase after the implementation, thus it can be said that the students math achievement also increase. Finally, the research also shows that cooperative learning model with structural Think Pair Square (TPS) approach can improve math achievement of VIII7 class of Junior High School 25 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research which aims to improve the learning process and the result of learning mathematics by applying Discovery Learning model. The subject of this research were the students in the class VIII3 of SMP Negeri 4 Siak Hulu that consist of 22 boys and 19 girls at the second semester of academic year 2017/2018. Instruments on this reserach constisted of syllabus, lesson plans and worksheets, and instruments of data collection which is observation sheets and the test result sheets. The function of observation sheet is to obtain data from the learning process, while the function of results sheet of the mathematics learning tests is to obtain the results of the study. The descriptive of observation sheets and students’ mathematic tests showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycles and improve the students’ achievement of learning mathematic. On the knowledge competence, from the basic score with percentage 41,46% experience improvement in Cycle I with percentage 65,85% and 78,05% in Cycle II. On the skills competence, the number of students who reach the minimum criteria of mastery learning from Cycle I with percentage 73,17% improve to 87,81% in cycle II. Based on the results of this research can be concluded that the implementation of the Discovery Learning model can improve the learning achievement of the second semester students of class VIII3 of SMP Negeri 4 Siak Hulu in the second semester academic year 2017/2018.Keywords: Students’ Math Achievement, Discovery Learning Model, Clasroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a classroom action research aims to improve and eenhance the learning outcomes math. Implementation of the research done in class IV SDN 005 Langgini Bangkinang, were 20 students the second semester of 2012. The research was conducted by two cycles, each cycle performed three learning sessions and one tests. Quantitative data obtained through testing for learning outcomes and qualitative data about the activities of teachers and students through observation sheet. Quantitative analysis of the result of the analysis showed that the average score of the class IV SDN 005 Langgini has increased. Quantitative an increase in motivation, interests, and activities of students and teachers with type cooperative learning STAD. Based on the results of this study concluded that with the implementation of cooperative learning model type STAD can improve student learning outcomes math class IV SDN 005 Langgini.Key word: learning outcomes, learning cooperative type STAD.

Abstract

Mathematical thinking is a mathematical process, which includes five aspects; mathematical understanding, mathematical communication, mathematical connections, mathematical reasoning and mathematical problem solving. Discrete Mathematics is one of the subjects that can develop students thinking skills. One of the lessons that can be applied to improve students mathematical thinking skills is the Alberta Inquiry learning model. This research aims to discover the effect of mathematical thinking capabilities with the learning model of Alberta Inquiry towards the learning achievement of Discrete Mathematics Study Program FKIP of Universitas Riau in the even semester of 2017/2018 academic year. The form of this research is a quasi-experimental research. The experiment design used in this research is the Single Group Pretest /Posttest design Without Control Group. The sample of this research is students of the 6th semester Mathematics Study Program of Class A in the even semester of 2017/2018 academic year consisting 31 peoples.Based on the considerations of the researchers taken class A as the sample in this research with the reason that students in class A first took Discrete Mathematics courses in the even semester of 2017/2018 academic year. The result of the normality test of pretestand postest showed that the pretest data werenot normally distributed (sig = 0,004 < α = 0,05) and the postest data was normally distributed (sig = 0,200 > α = 0,05). The results of two similarity test average obtained sig = 0,00< α = 0,05 means postest value is better than pretest. The results of testing the determination index coefficient obtained the value of r2xy = 0,52with Kp = 52%. In other words itcan be concluded that there is an effect of mathematical thinking ability with Alberta Inquiry learning models towards Discrete mathematics learning outcomes is 52%.
