Abstract

Penurunan aktivitas siswi dipengaruhi oleh dismenore. Gejala ini terjadi pada siswi berupa nyeri perut, pusing, mual, dan nyeri pinggang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dismenore terhadap aktivitas siswi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian observasional dengan pendekatan belah lintang. Sampel terdiri atas 85 siswi yang dipilih secara acak sederhana di SMK Batik 1 Surakarta. Data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara  dan hasilnya dianalisis dengan uji chi kuadrat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai peratus penurunan aktivitas siswi pada kategori dismenore ≥ 6 mempunyai peratus lebih tinggi dari pada kategori dismenore < 6, dengan beda peratus sebesar 16,8%. Perbedaan tersebut secara statistik mendekati bermakna (p = 0,059). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa peristiwa dismenore berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas siswa. AbstractDecrease in student activities were influenced by dysmenorrhea. Symptoms of dysmenorrhea occur in girls generally in the form of abdominal pain, dizziness, nausea, and low back pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of dysmenorrhea on schoolgirl activities. This study was an observational research with cross sectional approach. The samples consist of 85 girls at SMK Batik 1 Surakarta those were selected with simple random sampling. Data were collected through interviews and the results were analyzed by chi square test. The results showed that the percentage of decrease in activities of schoolgirl those had dysme-norrhea ≥ 6 have a higher percentage than in the categories of dysmenorrhea < 6, with difference of 16,8%. The difference was statistically close to significant (p = 0,059). In conclusion, dysmenorrhea influenced schoolgirl  activities.Keywords: Dysmenorrhea; Decreased of activities; Schoolgirl

Abstract

AbstractThe research aims at investigating the effect of using YouTube video in teaching English grammar. The research was conducted at the English Education Program in Lampung in 2012. The population was all of the first semester students of English Education Program. The sample of the study consisted of 72 students distributed randomly on one experimental class who was taught by using YouTube video and one class as control class who was taught by using textbooks. The instruments for collecting the data were a questionnaire on students’ attitude to find out the students who have positive and and negative attitude, and a grammar test to find out the students’ achievement in learning grammar. Analysing data using ANOVA or analysis of variance and Tukey test leads to the conclusion that: (1) YouTube video as media ( = 27.75) is more effective than textbooks (=24.41) to teach grammar; (2) the students who have positive attitude have higher achievement (=29.11) than those who have negative attitude (=23.05); and (3) there is an interaction between teaching media and students’ attitude.Key word: YouTube video, textbook, attitude, grammar, experimental study.

Abstract

This article discusses teaching and learning Listening English, especially teaching and learning Listening to children which play an important role on language acquisition.  Listening is always referred to as a boring lesson. Most of students are always feel trouble before trying Listening lessons. This is a challenge for us as English teacher. Here we must make the class become more interactive. Listening is the basis for the development of all other skills and the main channel through which the student makes initial contact with the target language and its culture. On the Interactive class, students not only listen, filling in the blanks, and answer questions, but they also discuss, dialogue, debate in conversation with each other and teachers can also incorporate the game in that classroom learning more fun and interactive. Everyone can participate in the class of Listening in the sense that they can improve their skills in listening, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, and speaking. Teachers assess Listening through the application of appropriate assessment with learning Listening, such as how well they capture the information they hear from the voice or video then they can discuss it together with each other in the classroom (could play, debates, discussions, etc.).

Abstract

This article discusses and review two journal articles to determine the effect of video in English teaching and learning process especially in listening English, which is always referred to as a boring lesson. Abstract

Learning English is very complex because the English language consists of four skills namely listening, speaking, writing and reading. But in fact, many students still can not understand the word or phrase spoken in English. So many factors that students feel when they have difficulties in learning English listening. The difficulty arises from two factors: internal and external factors, therefore the author intends to examine where the difficulties in terms of internal factors and external factors.This research is descriptive qualitative as studies on issues generate descriptive data, or in other words, in this study the collection of data contained in the form of reports and descriptions. Its population was the students of English Program Study 3rd semester of Tarbiyah and Teacher Treaning Faculty the State of Islamic Studies  Raden Intan Lampung in the academic year of 2015/2016. The sample of this research were 40 people consisting of 33 women and 7 men.From the result of this research found that the factors causing difficulty in listening to students are; declining health condition or illness, the elusive material, a lack of support, lack of training to improve English listening whether with their classmates or with native speaker.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan strategi komunikasi pemasaran Brodo Footwear di Instagram dan minat beli mahasiswa Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). Dengan menggunakan teknik stratified propotional dan purposive sampling, sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 95 mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik angkatan tahun 2012 dan 2013. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui dua cara, yaitu penelitian kepustakaan dan penelitian lapangan. Responden mengisi kuesioner yang terdiri dari 20 pertanyaan berkaitan dengan variabel yang diukur. Analisis data menggunakan tabel tunggal, analisis tabel silang dan uji hipotesis Spearman. Hasil analisis penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang rendah tetapi pasti antara strategi pemasaran Brodo Footweardan minat beli mahasiswa di FISIP Universitas Sumatera Utara.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa pengaruh kreativitas iklan perusahaan Manulife terhadap brand awareness, menganlisa seleksi media, dan untuk melihat efek iklan Manulife pada pelanggan Manulife. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pesan yang dibawa oleh iklan Manulife berpengaruh kuat terhadap pelanggan asuransi tersebut. Para pelanggan juga lebih memilih merk Manulife setelah menonton iklan tersebut. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kreativitas iklan Manulife berdampak sangat signifikan terhadap brand awareness. Dan penayangan dalam jangka panjang iklan tersebut di televisi membuat pelanggan mengingat merk tersebut setelah menontonnya. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pemilihan media iklan Manulife sangat berpengaruh terhadap brand awareness.

Abstract

The research aims at investigating the influence of using describe and identify game toward students’ Speaking Ability. The students’ speaking ability at the tenth grade of SMA YP UNILA Bandar Lampung is still low. The writer applied quasi experimental design. The population of this research was the tenth grade of SMA YP UNILA Bandar Lampung. There were twelve classes of 424 students. The writer took the sample by using cluster random sampling technique, the sample were X MIA 4 as experimental class and X MIA 6 as control class. The writer conducted five meetings for each class consisting of one pre-test, three treatments and one post-test. In experimental class the writer used describe and identify game, whereas in control class the writer used dialogue memorization technique. In collecting the data, the writer used the instrument in the form of oral test. The instruments were pre-test and post-test, after giving the post-test, the writer, then, analyzed the data using independent sample ttest formula. After doing the hypothetical test, it was obtained the result of ttest was 8.7454 and the result of tcritical with the level of significance 0.05 was 2.00. The criteria to know the hypothesis is accepted or not, was tobserve higher than tcritical (tobserve > tcritical). From this statement, it is clear that 8.7454 is higher than 2.00. This result means that there is a significant influence of using describe and identify game towards students’ speaking ability at the tenth grade of SMA YP UNILA Bandar Lampung.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know the influence of using Highlighted Journal Strategy towards students’ writing ability in analytical exposition text at the second semester of the eleventh grade of MAN 1 Central Lampung in academic year of 2015/2016. The research methodology was experimental research with three times of meeting, 90 minutes for each meeting. This design used pre-test and post-test to find out students’ writing ability in analytical exposition text before the treatment and after the treatment. The population of this research was the second grade of MAN 1 Central Lampung. There were five classes and consist of 175 students. The writer used cluster random sampling when the writer took classes of five classes. The first class of experimental class is X1 A1 and the second of control class is X1 A3. In collecting the data, the writer used instruments in the form of writing test. After being tried out, the instruments were used for the pre-test and post-test. After giving the post-test, the writer analyzed the data using T-test formula. From the data analysis, it was found that the result of T-test was T-observed (2.8355) with T-critical (1.668). Since T-observed > T-critical, Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that there is a significant influence of using highlighted journal strategy towards students’ writing ability in analytical exposition text at second semester of the eleventh grade of MAN 1 Central Lampung in academic year of 2015/2016.
