Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat baseline keanekaragaman kupu-kupu di kawasan konservasi insitu PT Pembangkit Jawa Bali Unit Bisnis Jasa O & M PLTU Rembang. Data tersebut digunakan dalam penyusunan dokumen PROPER menuju peringkat hijau atau beyond compliance, sesuai dengan Lampiran V Peraturan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup Nomor 3 Tahun 2014. Sampling dilakukan dengan dua kombinasi metode, yaitu penangkapan dan perangkap menggunakan umpan buang sepanjang transek. Terdapat lima titik sampling dengan jarak tiap perangkap ±100 m (Titik I S 06° 38.191’ dan E 111° 28.663’; Titik 2 pada S 06° 38.179’ dan E 111° 28.696’; Titik 3 pada S 06° 38.165’ dan E 111° 28. 728’; Titik 4 pada S 06° 38.083’ dan E 111° 28.655’; serta Titik 5 yang terletak pada koordinat S 06° 37.966’ dan E 111° 28. 616’). Kupu-kupu yang diperoleh terdiri atas empat famili dan lima spesies, yaitu Pteridae (1 spesies), Purple emperos (1 spesies), Lycaenidae (1 spesies) dan Nymphalidae (2 spesies). Spesies tersebut secara berurutan, meliputi Eurema hecabe, Hypolimnas bolina, Zizina otis, Junonia orithya madagascarensis, dan Melanitis leda. Abstract

This study aimed to assess utilization of fertilizers as nutrient in the anaerobic reactor. Nutrient is one important characteristic of waste for the treatment. Nutrient is required for the growth and reproduction process of microorganisms which involved in the anaerobic process. The wastewater used in this research is tofu wastewater. Gandasil B fertilizer has N 6 mg/l and P 20 mg/l. While for Gandasil D fertilizer has N 20 mg/l and P 15mg/l. Anaerobic reactor has 1000 ml of capacity which contain 600 ml of wastewater, 100 ml of liquid fertilizer, and 300 ml of space blank. Anerobic reactor observed for 14 days with 5 observed parameters. Those parameters are TSS, VSS, COD, N, and P. After 14 days, added of Gandasil B fertilizer decreased the concentration of TSS, VSS, COD, N, and P amounted to 57,56%, 26,84%, 80,08%, 96,75%, and 93,18%. compared to the 0th day. While the addition of Gandasil D fertilizer decreased the parameters amounted to 3,48%, 6,21%, 86,72%, 58,10%, and 90,78%. In conclusion, Gandasil B fertilizer in the anaerobic reactor improves the rate of organic material degradation more effectively than Gandasil D fertilizer.Keywords - Anaerobic reactor, COD, fertilizer, N, nutrient, P, TSS, VSS

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the water quality and fish diversity in Brantas river. Three station for sampling locations were in the upstream (one station on Karangkates reservoir) and downstream (two stations on the Surabaya and Jagir river). Water quality parameters were BOD, COD, DO, pH, temperature, and the levels of heavy metals (Pb, Cr, Cu, and Cd). Fish specimens was identified using fish identification book. The results of this research indicated that there was a difference in the water quality of upstream and downstream of the Brantas river. On the upstream, the source of pollution was mostly from fish catching, agriculture, and industrial activities. While on the downstream of the river it mostly dominated by industrial waste and domestic waste. The water quality in both stations had far exceeded the quality standards that was included in the polluted category. The concluded that Brantas river has been contaminated by waste (heavy metals), exceeded the water quality standard. The diversity of fish in the downstream (Surabaya river) has the highest diversity values, followed Jagir river and in the upstream (Karangkates reservoir) has the lowest value of diversity. Brantas river water was included in the category of moderate diversity.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the effi ciency the TSS reduction of domestic wastewater by using hydraulic agitation in anaerobic biofi lter. The reactor consists of four columns. Each column has a sampling point. Upfl ow direction was operated in reactor in order to maximize the hydraulic agitation. Gravel was used as fi lter media to support the growth of biofi lm. The reactor treated wastewater of FST Airlangga University canteen which contains 8237.463 mg/l of TSS. Flow used during processing was 0.3 ml/min. Sampling TSS were performed on days 7, 14, 21, and 28. The results showed that the effi ciency of TSS were 64.57%, 76.16%, 94.23% and 98.46% respectively. The average TSS removal was 83.36%.

Abstract

The mangrove forest occurred in the north coast of Pasuruan Regency have not been reported about the vegetational and substrate compositions. The research's purpose were to analysis the vegetational composition and the chemical properties of the substrate. The result showed that this mangrove forest were dominated by association of Sonneratia alba - Avicennia marina. The result showed that soils had the natural reaction (pH 7.01-7.65), low in organic matter (2.18-4.27%) and total nitrogen (0.48-0.51%), but high in total phosphorus (15.19-29.22 ppm) and in exchangeable cation (Ca2+: 389.855-504.065 mg/100 gr, Mg2+: 409.522-441.400 mg/100 gr, K+: 228.900-390-435 mg/100 gr).
