Abstract

Many girls feel pain when menstruation comes. This complaint called dismenorrhea and usually occurs 2 or 3 years after menarche. Girl’s knowledge about dismenorrhea is far from what people expected, there must be information media to increase their knowledge. One of the information media which can be used beside tv, radio, poster, brochure, magazine, and newspaper is leaflet. To find out the effectiveness of leaflet toward girls knowledge score about dismenorrhea. The research population was female teenager of Christian Junior High School 01 of Purwokerto years of 2010. The sample was 50 persons. The data was analyzed was using average score of knowledge level and pair “t” test. 1) the girls knowledge average score before accepting the leaflet is 55,20, this result shows the less of their knowledge. 2) The girls knowledge average score after accepting the leaflet is increasing become 74,00, this result shows the better knowledge. 3) The leaflet effectiveness toward the change of girls knowledge about dismenorrhea, (P=0,000). Leaflet is very effective toward the change of girls knowledge about dismenorrhea.   Key words: Leaflet, knowledge score.

Abstract

Age impacts a mother's experience to achieve psychological maturity, so does self- concept, a good self-concept also gives good impacts on the achievement was of a mother’s role. The research objectived to find the influence of age and self-concept tothe achievement of mother’s role when her baby was 0-6 months old in Bojongsari village, Bojongsari districts, Purbalingga regency.This research used the analytical method with cross sectional approach. The population in this research were the mother’s whose their babies were > 6 months to a year old in the Bojongsari village with population of 79 people. The sampling technique usedsimple random sampling with 44 samples of respondents. The univariate analysis used the frequention distribution and bivariate analysis used the test of rank spearman. The known research result most of the mothers who was 20-35 years old (54.5%), the mother did not work (56.8%) more than the mother work (43.2%), both good and less good self-concept was equivalent (50.0%). The role of mother achievement that unfavorable was more (52.3%) than good (47.7%). The role achievement of mothers who are not working (52,0%)  better than those who are working  (18.2%). There was an influence of  age and self-concept to the achievement of mothers role when her baby were 0-6 months old in Bojongsari village, Bojongsari Districts, Purbalingga regency in 2013.(ρ = 0.008) and (ρ = 0.000).
