The aim of the research was to improve students' ability in reading text by using metacognitive strategy. The subjects of the study was the first semester of the students of STIE ALWASHLIYAH SIBOLGA 2020.They were 30 students. The researcher provided a textual reading media with metacognitive strategy learning methods to help students know about the reading text so that students more active and understood and then the teaching and learning activities efficiently help the students and also more fun. This type of research is experimental research. The research design used is to use statistical groups. With the value of Ttest 124,103 while Ttable 2.0106, from these values we can conclude 1) Method of Metacognitive Strategy and media in reading text can improve students' ability in reading skills 2) Method of Metacognitive Strategy and media in reading text have an important role in improving the students’ abilityin reading skill. The study discusses how this Prophet stories writing is structured and its linguistic features by using descriptive method. The writing of Prophet stories is started by an introduction, followed by body of essay and the final paragraph is the conclusion as the closing of the story. The introduction provides some general idea related to the topic discussed then the body of essay discusses the specific ideas of the topic or the sequence of events occurred in the story. The last paragraph of the story is the conclusion provides suggestions, offer and commands to the people as the readers because there are some valuable moral lessons to take based on the ideas/meaning of the stories of the Prophet. Based on the linguistic features, the stories of the Prophet mainly use some tenses. Simple Past is used to describe the past events/activities occurred in the era of the Prophet and Present tense is used to describe fact or general truth and nowadays situation. Besides, the meaning or ideas of the stories are written mostly in statement (declarative sentence) in active voice but a few sentences are written in passive voice. Some ideas are also written in interrogative sentence (questions) found in introduction and imperative sentence (command) in the conclusion paragraph. This research examined the modification of the concept of CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) in English for Tourism lectures in English literature studies at the Muslim Nusantara Al-Washliyah University, Medan. English For Tourism lectures involved theoretical and practical training in their implementation. One important theory taught to students was about how to communicate well and correctly in the world of tourism. Students often experienced difficulties in communicating and understanding various very diverse cultures in Indonesia in particular and in foreign countries in general. Language and culture learning not only provided an understanding of the definition but students were required to be able to find their own knowledge. Lecturers must have concepts that spur students to be able to think critically and creatively. One of the appropriate learning concepts for teaching English for Tourism courses was the concept of CTL (Contextual Teaching And Learning). The concept made it easier for students to understand all the theories that were conveyed during the lecture. CTL made innovative, creative and effective learning. CTL modification in English for Tourism lectures could make lectures more creative, and require students to think more critically. Pengabdian ini mengkaji pelatihan media pembelajaran poster kartun terhadap guru-guru di TK Kemala Bhayangkari 03 Medan. Kosakata merupakan hal yang sangat penting dan mendasar dalam pembelajaran bahasa dalam hal ini bahasa Inggris. Para guru di sekolah TK khususnya di TK Kemala Bhayangkari 03 Medan mendapatkan kesulitan dalam mengajarkan kosakata bahasa Inggris terhadap peserta didik mereka. Peserta didik cenderung bosan dan tidak bersemangat selama proses pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Inggris tersebut berlangsung. Para guru di sekolah tersebut membutuhkan media pembelajaran yang tepat untuk mengajar kosakata bahasa Inggris. Media pembelajaran tersebut adalah poster kartun. Poster kartun merupakan media pembelajaran yang modern. Peserta didik menjadi semakin antusias dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran di kelas. Hal tersebut membuat mereka lebih bersemangat dan aktif belajar di kelas. Pelatihan dengan media pembelajaran ini mampu membantu para guru sekolah TK untuk melaksanakan kegiatan pengajaran kosakata bahasa Inggris agar lebih menarik dan atraktif.

Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat di MTs Az Zuhri bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan Reading text kepada seluruh siswa dengan menggunakan metode snowball throwing. Metode ini diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak positif kepada seluruh siswa agar mereka memiliki kemampuan berbahasa Inggris khususnya dalam kemampuan membaca.Pelatiahan ini juga memberikan rasa percaya diri siswa ntuk dapat menggunakan bahasa Inggris dilingkungan sekolah. Dimana permasalahan yang terjadi pada siswa MTs Az Zuhri yakni kurangnya metode pembelajaran reading dan siswa belum tertarik dan terbiasa membaca text dalam bahasa Inggris. .Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanan dengan metode pelatihan dan ceramah. Hasil dari pelatihan ini sangat memuaskan karena dengan menggunakan metode Snowball Throwing ini siswa lebih akif dikelas dan memberikan suasana yang menyenagkan di dalam kelas agar suasana belajar mengajar lebih menarik.

The study deals with improving students’ vocabulary mastery through watching English films. The formulations of the problem are (1)Is watching English films effective in increasing students’ vocabulary? (2) What English film can improve students’ vocabulary?. The purpose of the study is (1) to find out the effectiveness of watching English film can increase students’ vocabulary. (2) to know kind of English film can improve students’ vocabulary. The sample of this research is forty students from the second yearsstudents of SMA Ksatria Medan. The technique of the collecting of the data by using questionare and test. ABSTRAK Budidaya lebah madu lebih banyak dilakukan di bawah daerah penyangga hutan. Kelompok Budidaya Trigona Batu Katak yang dijalankan Bapak Kelengi Sitepu merupakan penjual sekaligus peternak di dusun Batu Katak, Desa Batu Jong-Jong. Bapak Kelengi Sitepu memproduksi madu unggulanya yaitu Trigona Batu Katak. Proses pengolahan Madu ini dimulai ketika lebah madu siap panen. Kemudian dilakukan pemerasan sari madu menggunakan alat sederhana, dan ditampung ke dalam jerigen untuk dikemas. Proses pemerasan pengemasan madu dilakukan di rumah secara manual. Kendala yang dialami oleh pengusaha madu ini adalah pengemasan yang masih sederhana belum menggunakan label dan botol yang menarik sehingga sulit untuk menembus toko. Berdasarkan permasalahan mitra tersebut diatas, kami akan memberikan solusi dengan metode pelaksanaan yaitu pendampingan dan penerapan pengemasan dan label kemasan. Hasil yang dicapai setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan tersebut adalah Dapat membuat kemasan botol madu lebih menarik sehingga memiliki daya saing dipasaran salah satunya pada saat pandemic covid 19 ini,pihak Kantor Balai Besar Taman Nasional Gunung sudah memesan dan mengkonsumsi Madu Trigona Batu Katak. Kata Kunci: Kemasan, Madu, Lebah, Budidaya ABSTRACT The cultivation of honey bees is mostly carried out in the buffer zones. The Trigona Batu Katak Cultivation Group, which is run by Mr. Kelengi Sitepu, is a seller as well as a breeder in Batu Katak hamlet, Batu Jong-Jong Village. Mr. Kelengi Sitepu produces his superior honey, namely Trigona Batu Katak. This honey processing process begins when the honey bees are ready to harvest. Then the honey juice is squeezed using a simple tool, and it is put into a jerry can for packaging. The process of squeezing the honey packaging is done at home manually. The constraints that serve honey entrepreneurs are the simple packaging, not using attractive labels and bottles, making it difficult to get through to the collection. Based on the partners' problems mentioned above, we will provide a solution with the implementation method, namely assistance and application of packaging and packaging labels. The results achieved after the implementation of this activity were being able to make honey bottle packaging more attractive so that it had competitiveness in the market, one of which was during the COVID 19 pandemic, the Mount National Park Office had ordered and consumed Trigona Batu Katak Honey. Pandemi Covid-19 yang melanda negara Indonesia memberikan dampak yang terlihat nyata dalam berbagai bidang yaitu di antaranya ekonomi, sosial, pariwisata, dan pedidikan. Pelaksanaan pendidikan di Indonesia dalam masa pandemi Covid-19 mengalami beberapa perubahan yang terlihat nyata. Dampak Covid 19 juga terjadi di Desa Karya Selamat. Desa Karya Selamat adalah salah satu desa di Kecamatan Medan Johor. Permasalahan mitra dalam kegiatan ini kurangnya supporting kepada masyarakat terhadap pentingnya menjaga kesehatan dimana terlihat dari masih banyak masyarakatnya yang belum mematuhi protokol kesehatan di masa pandemik ini. Covid-19 yang telah melanda Indonesia membuat munculnya kosakata baru dalam bahasa Inggris yang digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan hal yang berhubungan dengan Covid-19. Oleh karena itu masalah ini juga muncul pada masyarakat di Desa Karya Selamat Johor. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini anatara lain memberikan support kepada seluruh warga Desa Karya Selamat agar peduli terhadap pencegahan covid 19 dalam bentuk memberikan penyuluhan kepada masyarakat seperti selalu menggunakan masker apabila melakukan kegiatan diluar rumah, menjaga kebersihan dengan rajin mencuci tangan dan menggunakan handsanitizer serta tetap jaga jarak dan memberikan pelatihan kosakata baru dalam bahasa Inggris yang sering muncul pada masa pandemi ini. Metode pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakuakan yaitu melalui pembekalan, penyuluhan dan pendampingan seminar edukasi dan sosialisasi Covid-19 dan evaluasi kegiatan. Kemampuan serta keterampilan dalam berkomunikasi kepada masyarakat sekitar adalah power dalam menyampaikan tujuan dari program pengabdian yang akan dilakukan. Mahasiswa harus memiliki kemampuan untuk memotret kondisi nyata masyarakat di wilayah kegiatan terkait dengan pengelolaan kesehatan diri dan lingkungan, sebagai informasi untuk merumuskan pendekatan- pendekatan yang sesuai dengan kearifan lokal sesuai dengan kebiasaan masyarakat sekitar.
