Abstract

Proses calendering adalah proses pelapisan kawat baja (steel cord) dengan karet (compound) menjadi steel treatment sebagai salah satu material penyusun dalam proses pembuatan ban. Pada proses produksi steel treatment di Plant R PT ACR tentu tidak lepas dari adanya produk cacat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif, peneliti mendapatkan cacat produk seperti supply compound kurang dan compound steel treatment lebih. Pada periode Desember 2020 sampai Februari 2021 frekuensi terjadinya kedua cacat produk tersebut sebanyak 254 kasus untuk supply compound kurang dan 147 kasus untuk compound steel treatment lebih. Penyebab utama kedua cacat produk disebabkan oleh faktor tidak sinkronnya kecepatan conveyor feeding yang men-supply compound ke mesin calender dengan kecepatan mesin calender. Dengan melakukan pengukuran kecepatan secara lansgung terdapat selisih yang cukup jauh. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan supply compound menjadi kurang atau lebih. Dengan permasalahan tersebut maka akan dibuat perancangan sistem kontrol yang dapat mensinkronkan kecepatan conveyor feeding agar sesuai dengan kecepatan mesin calender dengan menggunakan inverter sebagai pengendali motornya. Hasil penelitian ini dinyatakan dalam bentuk tabel yang menunjukan hasil perhitungan untuk memperoleh nilai frekuensi yang dibutuhkan oleh motor induksi. Sebagaimana diketahui kecepatan putaran motor dipengaruhi oleh frekuensi yang didapatkan oleh motor tersebut.

Abstract

In the production department of the D&K Building plant which serves as a place to assemble tire building materials to become a green tire, there is a jointless machine which functions to install jointless material to be assembled with other materials. The frequency of damage in jointless machine components is still high that causes the high losstime. The high losstime indicates a small value of reliability of the machine. The data needed in this study are damaged engine components, engine failure period, and engine component replacement time. In this study, critical components were analysed. The methods used in this analysis were FMEA, LTA and MTTF. The result of the analysis showed that the bearing is jammed with an average reliability of 49% with an MTTF value of 30 days. Broken bearings value an average reliability of 8.5% to an MTTF value of 56 days. Piping accessories (jointless stopper) the average value of reliability is 52% to an MTTF value of 145 days. The stopper bolt has an average reliability of 50% to an MTTF value of 385 days. The results showed that the determination of the critical component replacement time interval can determine the appropriate maintenance activities on the Jointless machine so that the right RCM decision for the company can be achieved.

Abstract

Hydropower on the lowest scale namely propeller pico-hydro, the turbine has a light workload so that allows it to be made from polymer materials with rapid manufacturing 3D printing technology.  In the design of the propeller turbine, the most concerned loading is the axial load which results in failure. A failure of designing the dimensions of the propeller turbine with polymer materials causes a fracture in the blades. This study aims to analyze how the effect of blade thickness on the performance of a propeller water turbine. Data collection in this study uses numerical simulation through computational fluid dynamics using SolidWorks Flow Simulation with the blade thickness variable used 1 mm to 3 mm with a fillet size 1.5 mm. Based on the results, the thickness of the blade affects the value of static torque. At a blade thickness of 2 mm, it shows the most optimal torque value compared to a thickness value below or above 2 mm.

Abstract

This paper discusses the building of a low-cost CNC router machine. In designing a CNC machine using an electrical actuator as the driving force, we use a nema 23 stepper motor combined with a pitch 2 mm timing belt to drive the machine on the x and y axes. On the z-axis, we use a stepper motor and a linear screw to drive the machine. This machine is often used to cut and engrave wood, acrylic, and PCB objects. The design drawing that has been made on the PC is sent to the microcontroller using serial communication, then the CNC performs work on the thing according to the coordinates. The spindle will create a pattern on the thing automatically according to the design drawing. Measurement was made using a caliper with an accuracy of 0.05 mm. This CNC machine is performing duly as ordered by the mach3 micro controller. The machine test results show an accuracy value of 99.85% on the x-axis, 99.74% on the y-axis, and 99.12% on the z-axis.

Abstract

reeper machine is a tool for flattening latex material that comes out of a mobile crusher which will become a creep sheet at the milling and crumbling station in the rubber factory. This study aims to determine the methods of maintenance and repair of creeper machines at the rubber processing factory of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VII Rejosari Unit at the Pematang Kiwah Rubber Factory. The methods used in data collection are introduction and observation, interviews and discussions, literature study and data collection in the field. The results of this study indicate the need for Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance and Breakdown Maintenance for Creeper Machines at PTPN VII Pematang Kiwah Unit so that the machines can work optimally.
