Abstract

Speaking is considered the most important skill of language especially English because having ability to speak is one of the evidence that someone has good proficiency of the language itself. Therefore, it is very urgent to teach speaking to the students in order that they master it well. To teach speaking, the teacher must design learning activities as well as possible and it also must be supported by various teaching media especially visual media such as pictures, realia, television etc. in order that learning activities is more various, interesting and motivates students to participate actively. The presence of visual media presents different learning experience which can stimulate students to think creatively so that they always get new idea to express when they want to speak. Therefore, the more various the teacher uses the media, the better learning objectives students achieve

Abstract

One of the goals of education is to produce a generation that has commendable behavior as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. This community service activity aims to equip teachers at Pondok Pesantren Matholiul Anwar either theoretical or practical to instill prophetic values ​​in teaching and learning activities in the classroom. This community service activity is carried out by providing counseling which is conducted through presentation from the resource persons and followed by a question and answer or discussion session. From this activity, the teachers seemed enthusiastic in participating and they were very enlightened and helped to further strengthen the practice of instilling prophetic values ​​in teaching and learning activities. This community service activity is expected to improve the quality of a more integrative teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Education plays a vital role in human civilization. It is not free of some problems. One of them is students, learning interest, especially in English learning. At the same time, English one of the skills in this digital era because English becomes an alternative language in global communication. Community service through English Learning Assistance for Students by Using Method of Telling Legend of Madura at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Miftahul Ulum Gunung Tangis Desa Rek-Kerrek Kecamatan Palengaan is aimed at help teacher and students solve the problems with various learning methods and media which present more exciting and enjoyable new atmosphere. From the result of assistance, it was found that students got much more interested and zealous to participate in learning proses. This community service is expected to be a model for teachers in designing more various learning activities to increase students’ motivation and interest in learning the English language.(Pendidikan yang berperan sangat penting dalam peradaban manusia tidak terlepas dari berbagai permasalahan. Salah satunya minat belajar siswa yang kurang terutama dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Sedangkan bahasa Inggris merupakan salah satu keahlian bahasa yang harus dikuasai di era digital ini karena bahasa Inggris menjadi bahasa alternatif dalam komunikasi global. Pengabdian masyarakat melalui Pendampingan Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Bagi Murid Melalui Metode Cerita Legend of Madura di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Miftahul Ulum Gunung Tangis Desa Rek-kerrek Kecamatan Palengaan bertujuan untuk membantu guru dan murid memberikan solusi atas permasalahan tersebut dengan variasi metode dan media pembelajaran yang manghadirkan suasana baru yang lebih menarik dan menyengangkan. Dari hasil pendampingan yang dilakukan ditemukan bahwa siswa jauh lebih tertarik dan bersemangat dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diharapkan menjadi acuan bagi guru dalam merancang kegiatan pembelajarang yang lebih bervariasi sehingga bisa meningkatkan motivasi dan minta siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris).

Abstract

Instilling Islamic moderation values is done to respond to the coming of some people bringing radicalism which is considered to disturb the peace and harmony of the social life of Indonesian people. Islamic moderation is a response to radicalism that must be implanted and infected to young generations. This research was intended to know how Islamic moderation values were implanted and what Islamic moderation values were implemented in teaching speaking through group work activity. This research used descriptive qualitative field research. The data collection instruments were observation and interview. The steps of data analysis were data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. This research revealed that the lecturer employed group work activity. In group work activities, the students were divided into seven groups. The member of the group consisted of five or six students. Each student in the group had their roles such as a master of ceremony, moderator, and presenter. In playing their role, they respected one and another. They discussed the topic within the group. No one dominated.  After doing a discussion within the group, then each group had their turns to present their topic. If one group were presenting, the rest became the audience and vice versa. Therefore, Islamic moderation values such as Syura (discussion), Tasamuh (tolerant), Tathawur wa Ibtikar (dynamic, creative, and innovative), and Musawah (egalitarian) were implanted and implemented through group work activity in teaching speaking

Abstract

Building nation character should be always done specially by the teacher in the school bacause nation character is one of fundamental elements in preventing this nation from the attack of foreign or western cultures which are not suitable with our cultures. This study aimed at decribing how the character values inserted in teaching grammar using jigsaw and what values were inserted. The study used descriptive qualitative field research. The data obtained through observation, and interview. After analyzing the data, it was found that character values were inserted through jigsaw activity. The character values found were tolerance, democratic, curiousity, communicative, responsible. This reseach is expected to contribute to build nation character through teaching and learning process.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to examine whether the use of the Lost Twin Game in teaching pronunciation affects students' pronunciation and how significant the effect is on their pronunciation performance. This research was motivated by the phenomenon that there are various obstacles to teaching pronunciation at the school level including those related to students’ personal characteristics and teachers’ instructional methods. The participants of this study were eighth grade students of MTs Nasrul Ulum Bagandan Pamekasan, consisting of 20 students. This research is pre-experimental utilizing a pretest and posttest, and the data for this study were analyzed statistically using a t-test with SPSS 20. The results of this study show that the t-value 0.000 is lower than 0.05 which means that there is a significant effect of the treatment on the students’ pronunciation performance, and the treatment also accounts for the students' score increase by about 25%. It is, thus, concluded that the incorporation of the Lost Twin Game in teaching pronunciation is effective in improving students' pronunciation performance. ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji apakah penggunaan Lost Twin Game dalam pengajaran pelafalan mempengaruhi pelafalan siswa dan seberapa signifikan pengaruhnya terhadap kinerja pelafalan mereka. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena adanya berbagai kendala dalam pembelajaran pengucapan di tingkat sekolah termasuk yang berkaitan dengan karakteristik pribadi siswa dan metode pembelajaran guru. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII MTs Nasrul Ulum Bagandan Pamekasan yang berjumlah 20 orang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian praeksperimental dengan menggunakan pretest dan posttest, dan data untuk penelitian ini dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji-t dengan SPSS 20. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa t-value 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05 yang berarti ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari perlakuan terhadap kinerja pengucapan siswa, dan perlakuan tersebut juga menyebabkan peningkatan nilai siswa sekitar 25%. Abstract

In this modern era, education is required not only to be able to create intelligent students but also to be able to create students who have good attitudes. The attitude that is needed when they are in the midst of society. Such as tolerance, respect for the opinions of others, mutual cooperation and the others. Considering that these attitudes have begun to decrease by the times and the advancement of civilization. Therefore, an educator is expected to be able to develop the ability of students not only in the cognitive domain but also in the affective domain. In this case, the lecturer as educator can give directly positive suggestion or creating a good teaching and learning that contain some valuable meaning. Implementing cooperative can covered both cognitive aspect and affective aspect. The method of study is qualitative approach which descriptive design.This paper aims to describe what attitudes can be developed by applying cooperative learning methods and what strategies in cooperative learning can be done to encourage affective values ??of students. To Achieve the aims of this study, the researcher conducts the research in State Islamic Institute of Madura (IAIN Madura). The subject is the students of English department in the first semester.The result showed that cooperative learning can improve respect, tolerate and solidarity value of the students. Abstract

Microsoft Teams is a cloud app digital hub that brings channels, conversations, meetings, files and apps to Microsoft 365. Extensive reading is a kind of subjects at English department which let the students to read the articles as they want to read for pleasure, the important thing, they can get some informations as the result of their reading. Therefore, they can explore by reading aloud, writing, speaking or other things related with finding new vocabulary or practicing a good pronounciation. In this case, they can choose to read newspaper, magazine, bulletine, reading drama script, reading poetry or many other articles. Therefore, using microsoft team by zoom will support the teaching and learning process in this pandemic with virtual class, because with this platform, it can encourage them reading ethusiasticly with their team by various responses. The objectives of this research are how the lecturer implement microsoft teams in teaching Extensive Reading during covid 19 pandemic and what the students’ response on using microsoft teams in teaching Extensive Reading druing virtual class. To answer those aims, the researcher conducted the research which is qualitative appoarch. The result from observation (that the researcher has joined online class directly by using microsoft team by zoom) and interview of WA chatting show that using microsoft team is really helpful in extensive reading class, because the students shew positive responsive,namely the creations that resulted from their readings show that they really read the article as they want to read and chose to explore the informations the got by speaking (a news broadcaster by sharelink the youtube, news teller) then writing by making resume of the innformations they have read.

Abstract

The global problem that has been faced by society today is corona virus which is known as Covid-19. This pandemic forced some changed includes in education sector. The social distancing policy caused the learning through virtual. Unfortunately, the students who live in rural area can’t study. It because some reason includes the students have limited facilities. Therefore, this PKM gives opprtunity to the studentsto learn through some programs. The method of this research is Participatory Action research (PAR) which includes some procedurs such as planning, implementing, and evaluation. The research instruments are observation, interview and documentation. The result of the study were excellent class, writing class and teenager group discussion where are these programs provide chance for students to study during Covid-19.
