Abstract

Introduction: Trauma to the teeth and its supporting tissues often occurs in trauma patients. The involvement of orofacial trauma is estimated to be around 15% of all emergency patients, and 2% of these cases involve dentoalveolar trauma. Objective: Case report of a 53-year-old man case of gum, with complaints of tooth, gum, and head pain due to trauma from motorcycle accidentCase Report: Complaints experienced by a single motorcycle accident and hit a wooden board with the position of the face hit first, patients have lost consciousness shortly after the accident. Complaints of pain in the upper lower lip and gum, avulsion on teeth 11,21 and mobility on teeth 12,22,31,32,41,42.Discussion: The patient had previously treated in a community health service so that the airway inspections and handling were not carried out. Observative was carried out in consultation with the Neurosurgery section for a history of loss of consciousness, than the definitive care by attaching an Eyelet splint for a fixation to the maxillary anterior teeth, and fixation with Erich arch bar for the mobile mandibular anterior teeth. These actions was performed under general anesthesia. Conclusion: Interdental Wiring (IDW) is an intraoperative fixation technique for dentoalveolar trauma, in this case eyelet splints and Erich arch bar were used. Patients with head trauma should be consulted to Neurosurgery department before the definitive treatment.

Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the whitening effect and tooth sensitivity after bleaching treatments using iBrite in-office whitening system. Methods: The clinical report accommodated 27 patients using the iBrite in-office whitening system for bleaching treatments. Prior to the procedure, patients were screened for eligibility and underwent basic tooth cleaning. Recorded data of before and after treatments including clinical images, VAS scales, and VITA scales were assessed. Follow-ups were completed three months and six months after the in-office treatment. Results: After treated with iBrite in-office whitening systems, on average 6.3 shades of tooth color change were observed in 27 patients. In term of tooth sensitivity, male patients are more likely to feel sensitive after the treatments compared to the female patients. Most teeth sensitivity relieved in three to four days, and no other sensitivity was observed 6 months after the original in-office treatment. Conclusion: The iBrite in-office whitening system provides a fast, comfortable and convenient tool for tooth whitening. The low-irritating, yet still professional-grade whitening effect makes it as an ideal tooth whitening system to use in the dental office.

Abstract

Abstract

One of the basic requirements for succesfull transplantation is an adequate size of recipient site with sufficientalveolar support. If the transplantation is performed into a fresh extraction site, the recipient site can easily beadjusted to the transplantation. However, the situation is different in patient with premolar aplasia or early molarloss with marked atrophy of the alveolar process, need additional surgical procedures like bone autograft orsplitting osteotomy of the alveolar process. This paper discussed the effect of bone autograft and splitting osteotomyon root development of transplanted immature third molars. The conclusion is these additional surgical prosedureshad a negative effect on the pulpal and periodontal condition of transplantated immature third molars. This may berelated to revascularization disturbances of pulp due to nutrient insufficiency of the recipient site.

Abstract

The insertion of dental implants in atrophy maxilla is a complicated issue because no bone support due to expansionof maxillary sinus and atrophy of maxillary ridge alveolar. Surgery by sinus lifting with autogenous bonetransplantation has been proven to be an acceptable treatment to get bone support. The lateral window techniqueand transalveolar osteotomy sinus lifting are the methods to correct the height of inadequate bone in the posteriorarea of maxilla for preparation of implan dental insertion. Technique of transalveolar osteotomy sinus lifting isnoninvasive compared to lateral window sinus lifting technique.
