Abstract

Abstract: This research was based on the student achievement in learning mathematics especially grade VIID SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru still get poor result. This fact indicated by the result of the test only 40,54% on the test about Set. This research is a class action reaserch. This research aims to improve the learning process and improve learning result in mathematics in grade VIID SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru by implementation of think talk write strategi of the learning model cooperative type of student team achievement division (STAD). The subject of this research were the students in the class VIID SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic year 2016/2017. The instruments of data collection were observation sheets that used to observe teacher and students activities during the learning process and students mathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in descriptive narative, while the students mathematic tests were analyzed in statistic descriptive. The descriptive showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycles. The result of data analysis show an increasing number of student learning mathematic from the basic score is 40,54% to 54,05% on the first test and 62,16% on second test. Based on the result of data analysis could be concluded that the impelemtation of think talk write strategy in cooperative learning type of STAD approach can improve mathematic learning process and learning outcomes in grade VIID SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru in the second semester of academic year 2016/2017.Key Word : Students Math Achievement, Think Talk Write Strategi, Cooperative Learning Type of STAD.

Abstract

Abstrack: The background of this study is students low in mathematical of  X grade at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru and never doing to implementation problem based learning model. This research conducted in second semester of academic years 2016/2017. The aimed of study is to find out whether there is significant effect of using “problem based learning model” toward students mathematical of X grade at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru. The study employed the pre-experimental research focus on static group comparison study design. The sampling of technique was purposive. There were two sampling in this study; the experimental class was using “problem based learning model” and the control class with conventional learning. In collecting data used daily test as pre-test and test scores as post-test whether to see how the students ability in before and after giving a treatment. The finding of this research showed experimental class better than control class. So, it can be concluded  there was significant effect of using problem based learning model toward student’s mathematical of X grade at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Abstract : The aim of this research is to develop interactive computer-based tutorial for mathematics class VII topics of lines and angles. This research use development model by Borg and Gall modified by Sugiyono (2011). Development is done through the following steps: (1) potentials and problems; (2) data collection; (3) media design; (4) validation; (5) revision; (6) small group test; (7) revision; (8) large group test; and (9) revision. At the stage of potentials and problems, researchers created a needs analysis of the results of interviews with teachers of Mathematics. Based on the needs analysis, learning media developed for six class meetings. Learning media is validated by three experts and further revised based on the input from validators. The revised learning media was tested on a small group consist of five students of class VII. The learning media was revised and test in large group involved 21 students of class VII SMP N 1 Rengat. From the large group test results, the learning device improved. The result of data analysis and discussion shows that interactive computer-based tutorial for mathematics class VII topics of lines and angles are valid with an average value of 3.57 and is practical to use by students of class VII.

Abstract

Abstrak: The background of this research is not optimal results VIII2 grade students' mathematics learning SMPN 9 Pekanbaru with the percentage of students who reached the KKM is 50%. Facts on the ground showed not achieving the KKM is related to the learning process that students have not been optimally engage in learning activities. In connection with this, the researchers to improve the learning process in order to improve student learning outcomes through a research. It is expected with the implementation of this study, the learning process students become better so that students are engaged in an optimal learning and increase student learning outcomes. The Subjects were students of SMPN 9 Pekanbaru VIII2 grade total of 36 students with academic ability level heterogeneous. Instruments collecting research data is observation sheet activities of teachers and students and math achievement test in the form of daily tests. The observation of the teacher and student activity was analyzed as a basis for reflection and see the improvement of the learning process is carried out. While the achievement test used to determine students' mathematics learning outcomes. Based on the analysis of research data, there is improvement of learning process where the student has begun to actively ask and motivated to engage actively in the learning process and learning outcomes of students increased mathematics obtained. KKM achievement was 50% prior to the action and increased to 52.78% in the first cycle and became 83.33% in the second cycle. Based on these results it can be concluded that the application of the structural approach to learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) can improve learning outcomes VIII2 grade math student of SMPN 9 Pekanbaru even semester 2015/2016.Kata kunci: Hasil Belajar Matematika, Pembelajaran Kooperatif Pendekatan Struktural Numbered Heads Together (NHT), Penelitian Tindakan Kelas.

Abstract

Abstract: The research was classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and mathematics learning outcomes with applied the cooperative learning type of think pair square (TPS). The subject of the research is students of class VIII5 SMP Negeri 11 Pekanbaru in the second semester academic years 2014/2015. There are 38 students in the class, consist of 17 boys and 21 girls who have heterogeneous academic ability. The research are two cycles, each a cycle has four stages, that are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Each end of the cycle of daily tests carried out. Data collected through observation and tests in the form of daily tests. Data analysis was performed with narrative descriptive analysis and descriptive statistical analysis. Results of this research showed that the teacher’s activities and students have done well after doing the action. Most of students were excited and active in learning process. Such as while they were doing the steps of learning, presenting students’ worksheet or questions, responding the friend’s presentation and giving the conclusion of learning. The action is successful if the number of students who achieve a score of minimum mastery criteria increase in daily tests I and II. The number of students who achieve a score of minimum mastery criteria on basic, daily test I (first cycle) and daily test II (second cycle) are respectively 36.8%, 42.1%, and 71.05%. Results of this research indicates that the cooperative learning structural approach type of think pair square can improve learning process and students' mathematics learning outcomes math class VIII5 SMP Negeri 11 Pekanbaru in the second semester academic years 2014/2015.Key words: Mathematics learning outcome, Cooperative learning, Think Pair Square, Class action research

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve thelearning process and to improve the student’s mathematical problem solving ability byapplying Problem Based Learning (PBL). The subjects of this research are the studentof class VII4 Junior High School 11 Pekanbaru at first semester of academic years2015/2016, which amounts to 38 students. This research consists of two cycles, eachcycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.Data collected through observation and student’s mathematical problem solving abilitytest. Data analysis is done by observation data analysis and student’s mathematicalproblem solving ability data analysis. The action is successful if the scores of teacher’sactivities and student’s activities increase in every meeting, improve the student’smathematical problem solving ability every cycle and improve the classical’smathematical problem solving ability. The result of observation show teacher andstudents activities are improve better than before in every meeting. Based on dataanalisys of student’s mathematical problem solving ability test show the average N-gainof student’s mathematical problem solving ability in first cycle has improve 0,26, itsmean the student’s mathematical problem solving ability in low classification and insecond cycle the average N-gain of student’s mathematical problem solving ability hasimprove 0,71, its mean the student’s mathematical problem solving ability in highclassification. The average score of classical’s mathematical problem solving abilityhas improve 16,5 in first cycle than beginning test and the average score of classical’smathematical problem solving ability has improve 29,66 in second cycle than first cycle.The result of this research showed that Problem Based Learning improve the learningprocess and increase the the student’s mathematical problem solving ability of classVII4 Junior High School 11 Pekanbaru at first semester of academic years 2015/2016.Key words: Student’s mathematical problem solving ability, Problem Based Learning,Classroom action research

Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research that aims to improve the students mathematics achievement by implementing the cooperative learning type STAD. The subject of this research was the third grade students at class III SDN 01 Pendalian IV Koto in the second semester academic years 2014/2015. There were 20 students which consist of 11 boys and 9 girls who have heterogeneous academic ability. This research was implemented in two cycles, and at the end of every cycle carried out mathematics achievement test. Data collected through observation and mathematics achievement test. The results of this research showed that the activities of teacher and students have done well after doing the action. The students learning process have more focussed on increasing the knowledge and students interaction become better. Most of students were excited and more active in learning process, such as while they were doing the steps of learning, like preresenting students’ worksheet or questions, respond to their friend’s presentation and giving the conclusion of learning. The action was successful if the number of students who got the score of minimum mastery criteria increase in mathematics achievement tests I and II. The number of students who got the base of score of minimum mastery criteria on the first mathematics achievement test I (first cycle) and the second mathematics achievement test II (second cycle) are respectively 25%, 45%, and 60%. The results of this research indicates that the cooperative learning type STAD can improve the mathematics achievement of the third grade students at class III SDN 01 Pendalian IV Koto.Keywords: Mathematics Achievement, Cooperative Learning Type of STAD, Class Action Research

Abstract

Abstract : This research aims to determine the influence of the implementation of problem solving strategy in TPS structural approach of cooperatif learning to the mathematical problem solving ability of students. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 25 Pekanbaru on odd semester academic year 2017/2018. This is a pre-experimental research which using the static-group comparison design. The population is all of students at grade VII in SMP Negeri 25 Pekanbaru. The sample in this research consists of two class, where the VII8 as an experimental class and the VII9 as a control class. Class experimental was implemented the problem solving strategy in TPS structural approach of cooperative learning and class control class was implemented TPS structural approach of cooperative learning. The instrument of collecting data in this research is early mathematical ability test and mathematical problem solving ability test (postest). The postest result was analyzed by parametric statistic test of Independent Sample T-test and the magnitude of the influence was calculated using the Cohen’s formula. The result of the research showed that implementation of problem solving strategy in TPS structural approach of cooperatif learning gave the positive effect to the mathematical problem solving ability students. The implementation of problem solving strategy in TPS structural approach of cooperatif learning had a magnitude of the effect for 79% toward mathematical problem solving ability the students of class SMP Negeri 25 Pekanbaru and included in the large category.Key Words : Problem solving strategy, Think Pair Share structural approach to cooperatifLeraning, mathematical problem solving ability

Abstract

Absract : This research was conducted based on the student’s low interest in math of students class VIII1at SMPN 1 Bantan with percentage 50%. This research was classroom action research. This research aimed to improve students’ interest in math with TSTST cooperative Learning Model. The subjects of this research were students of class VIII1 at SMPN 1 Bantan year 2015/2016. The numbers of students in this research were 20 students consist of 8 male students and 12 are female. The instrument of data collected were observation sheets activities of teachers and students and questionnaire of student’s interest in math. The observation sheets were analysed with qualitative, while the questionnaire were analysed by descriptive quantitative. Based on both analysis showed the improvement of students interest in math before and after the research. The result showed the increasing of students interest for 19% from the previous number before the research was done that is 59% to 70% after the research. Based on the result of the research, we can conclude that the implementation of Cooperative Learning Model type Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) can improve students’ interest in math of students class VIII1 at SMPN 1 Bantanacademic year 2015/2016.Keywords: Students interest in math, Cooperative Learning Model Type Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS), Classroom Action Research.
