The results of this descriptive study indicate that changes in land use in the city of Bandar Lampung going along with the growth and development of urban areas reflects the rate; patterns and the impact of variation in each part of the city. Factor of economic growth, population growth and community preferences (which is a reflection of the variable capital , information, and accessibility) are factors trigger land-use changes that are reflected in changing patterns of land use areas of the city. Therefore, it takes a variety of incentives and dis- incentives policy in the control of land use change, given the opportunity cost of owned land resources, both economic and non-economic.  In addition, in an effort to achieve sustainable urban development, the expansion of public access is needed in determining the allocation of land use and the provision of public space is increasingly widespread and qualified as a service provided by the city government to the citizens. At the same time,  the city government to seriously land consolidation efforts and the establishment of land banks (land banking) in an effort to anticipate the  economic development in the era of globalization and the free market.Keywords: land use; growth area; spatial
