Abstract

Information technology is now used to allow users to manage information more quickly and effectively. Advances in technology in the hospitality  industry have evolved over the years. Strategic planning is implemented by companies/organizations to increase competitive advantage, minimize competitive disadvantage, and improve business process. This paper aims at producing IT strategic planning in the  hospitality industry to support the business process in a hotel. The method used in this research was adopted from a framework of IT Strategic Planning by Ward (2002). This study also used several measures such as SWOT and Porter's 5 Forces to analyze the  internal and external business environment of the hotel subject in this study. The results were a portfolio of new applications such as Mobile Web Application, CRM and Knowledge Management System which are proposed for the IT strategic planning in the hospitality industry.

Abstract

Information technology is employed to allow its users to manage information more quickly and effectively today. Advances in technology at the hospitality industry has evolved over the years. Strategic planning is one way that allows companies or organizations to increase competitive advantages and minimize disadvantages. The development of technology in the hospitality field has resulted in better business processes. This paper aims at producing IT strategic planning for the hospitality industry to support the hotel business processes. The method used in this research is the IT strategic planning framework introduced by John Ward. New applicationsportfolio such as Mobile Web Application, CRM, Knowledge Management System, Information Technology Balance Score Card (ITBSC) and Enterprise Architecture (EA) are proposedby the IT strategic planning at the hospitality industry. Keywords: IT strategic planning, tourism, portfolio application

Abstract

AbstrakKimia merupakan salah satu cabang ilmu fisik yang mempelajari mengenai susunan, sifat, dan perubahan materi yang ada pada dunia ini. Pembelajaran Kimia dilaksanakan untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir, bekerja, dan bersikap ilmiah, serta mengkomunikasikannya sebagai aspek penting dalam hidup. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah agar siswa dapat belajar secara mandiri melalui media alternatif, seperti perangkat ajar kimia berbasis sistem multimedia yang berisi materi kimia. Penelitian yang ada disertai dengan fitur animasi simulasi 3D, dilengkapi dengan fitur-fitur latihan kuis untuk siswa sehingga mudah memahami materi yang disampaikan. Metode perancangan aplikasi yang digunakan adalah metode waterfall. Metode waterfall dilakukan dengan lima tahap proses yang terdiri dari tahap communication, planning, modeling, construction, dan deployment. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini adalah aplikasi perangkat ajar kimia dengan menggunakan WebGL berbasis sistem multimedia yang dibuat menggunakan HTML5, dilengkapi dengan fitur animasi 3D dengan. Kesimpulan yang didapat adalah aplikasi ini dapat membantu siswa dalam kegiatan belajar, khususnya pada mata pelajaran kimia.Kata kunci: Multimedia, waterfall, kimia, WebGL, HTML5.AbstractChemistry is one branch of physical science that studies the composition, nature and changes of matter existing in this world. Chemistry Learning is conducted to foster the ability to think, to work and to be scientific and to communicate it as an important aspect in life. The purpose of this study is to facilitate students learn independently through alternative media such as teaching tools based on chemical multimedia systems that provides information on chemistry. The existing research would be accompanied by a 3D simulation animation that featured quiz exercises for students to easily understand the material delivered. Application design method used was waterfall method. Waterfall method was applied within five stages process consisting of communication, planning, modeling, construction and deployment. The result of this research was the application of chemical teaching devices using WebGL-based multimedia system created using HTML5, which featured 3D animation. The study showed this application could help students in learning activities, especially on chemistry subjects.Keywords: Multimedia, waterfall, chemistry, WebGL, HTML5

Abstract

The development of today's smartphone technology has a huge impact to the world of information technology and telecommunications. The emergence of a variety of applications for smartphones can improve the performance and effectiveness of an activity. Some restaurants have made use of smartphones in the business process, but only as a recording medium order or see a list of menus available in the restaurant. The purpose of this paper is to make the application as a whole that integrated the frontend and backend operations that help the process from ordering food, serving customer to managing restaurant data such as restaurant menus, employees, and transactions. The method used is the method of analysis (study of literature, analysis of similar applications, questionnaires, and interviews) and extreme programming design method. The results of this research is frontend application for food ordering and restaurant service and a backend system that has additional features such as restaurant profiles, restaurant menu data includes descriptions, recommended menuand images, promos, restaurant rating or menu rating, the waiter call feature, view bill and request features bill. The conclusion of this research is the developed application can help ordering process and restaurant servicesprocess in a restaurant with good customer satisfaction and good application performance.

Abstract

This research utilized Augmented Reality (AR) technology along with interactive multimedia applications to improve visual guidance and assist nonexpert users in assembling furniture. Rather than paperbased or video instructions, AR enhanced learning and manipulative-interactive approach. This research used the Waterfall model for development. It was divided into a couple of stages. It consisted of specifying the problem and requirements, designing the system, implementing and integrating it, and testing the system. Identifying problems and requirements was conducted through an online questionnaire and related works study. The graphics tool used was 3D Studio Max. Unity3d was used to develop the system with the software library from Qualcomm?s Vuforia for the AR implementation. The results show the mobile application called ARsembly. It serves as the early stage of concept model as it only assists the simple assembly. Through system testing performed by both researchers and end-users, ARsembly is proven to be useful and helpful in learning and performing furniture assembly.
