Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the level of S/C and the factors value that affect the level of S/C atlactating dairy cattle in BBPTU-HPT Baturraden Purwokerto Central Java, onApril, 29 th – May 13 th 2014.This research used sensus method with primary and secondary data. Analysis data used regression analysiswith SPSS (Statistics Packet for Social Science) program.The result showed that the S/C at BBPTU-HPT Baturraden is 2,12±1,23. Factors affecting the value of S/Cform the herds man and the cattles. On the level of cattle are the education of herds man that negativelyassociated with factor value 0,615, number of the cattle that positively assosiated with factor value 0,067,herdsman knowledge that positively assosiated with factor value 0,721 and the distance between the cowshedwith office that negatively assosiated with factor value 0,060. Factor affecting the S/C on dairy cattle arelactation level that positively assosiated with factor value 0,174, days open that \positively assosiated withfactor value 0,238, mating post partus that negatively assosiated with factor value 0,214, calving intervalthat negatively assosiated with factor value 0,326, lactating duration that positively assosiated with factorvalue 0,278 and dry period that positively assosiated with factor value 0,343.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the conception rate and the factors value that affect in beef cattle in the district Jati Agung, South Lampung regency. This study was conducted in April 2014 to 1,410 head of beef cattle belonging to 776 farmers. The research used a survey method with primary and secondary data. Analysis data used regression analysis with SPSS ( Statistic Packet for Social Science) program.The results showed that the conception rate in the district Jati Agung is a great identity for 36.03 ± 1.16. Factors that effect conception rates in beef cattle in the district Jati Agung is distance between the cowshed with house that negatively assosiated with factor value 0.003, number of factor concentrate that negatively assosiated with factor value of 0.027, amount of forage factor that negatively assosiated with factor value 0.003, a large area of the cage that negatively assosiated with factor value 0.020, and amount of beef cows that maintained that negatively assosiated with factor value 0.049 and a positive association was never followed a course that positively assosiated with factor value 0.112. The factors that influence conception rates in beef cattle farm level is great on long weaning period that negatively assosiated with factor value 0.013, mating postpartum that positiively assosiated with factor value 0.376, calving interval that negatively assosiated with factor value 0.412, the age of cattle that positively assosiated with factor value 0.006, the first estrus postpartum artificial insemination that positively assosiated with factor value 0.133 and time to insemination that negatively assosiated with factor value 0,406.

Abstract

Thawing is a method by melting back of semen that had been frozen prior to artificialinsemination (AI). The temperature and duration of thawing has a major influence on the state of thespermatozoa, especially the integrity of spermatozoa in the semen. The combination of temperatureand duration of thawing that will either be able to prevent damage to sperm , so it still has a highfertility rate. In common, lowland is an area that has low temperature and humidity, so it will have aneffect of thawing’s temperature. The purpose of this study was to determine the temperature andduration of thawing of Brahman’s frozen semen which have the most optimal to get used inartificial inseminations in lowlands area.Research was conducted in March 2014 using a completely randomized design (CRD) with a3x3 factorial. The first factor is the temperature (34°C, 37°C, and 40°C) and Factor II is duration ofthawing (10 seconds, 15 seconds, and 20 seconds) with 3 replications. Parameters observed in thisstudy is the percentage of sperm motility and live spermatozoa. The results were analyzed usingANOVA and Duncan's test at the advanced level of 5 % and 1%. The results showed that temperatureand duration of thawing give effects to the quality of the frozen semen of Brahman cattle, but has nointeraction between them. The most good quality spermatozoa at a temperature of 40ºC spermmotility is 37,77% and the percentage of live spermatozoa is a 40,83%. Duration of thawing at 15seconds sperm motility is 38,33% and the percentage of live spermatozoa is a 39,77%.

Abstract

The research aimed to: (1) determine the response of estrous onset of Ongole Offspring at thevarious parities after the injection of prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) twice; (2) determine the responseof estrous duration of Ongole Offspring at the various parities after the injection of prostaglandinF2α (PGF2α) twice. The research was held in November until December 2012, located in PunggurDistrict, Central Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. This research used CompletelyRandomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and four replications. The treatments wereOngole Offspring heifers (P0); Ongole Offspring which have calved once (P1); and OngoleOffspring which have calved twice (P2). The variables observed was performed statistically byanalysis of variance on level of 5% or 1%. The result of the research showed that parity was notsignificantly different (P>0,05) on the estrous onset and the estrous duration of Ongole Offspringat the various parities after prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) injection twice. The estrous onset ofOngole Offspring at the various parities after the injection of prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) twice P0,P1, P2 in a row were 45,57; 43,26; 52,53 hours, whereas the estrous duration of Ongole OffspringPO P0, P1, P2 in a row were 13,58; 18,65; 15,72 hours.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to : (1) knowing blood descriptions (red blood cell, white blood cell, andhaemoglobin) of broiler at closed house with kind of litter material, and (2) finding the best litter for broilerblood descriptions at closed house. The research was conducted during 26 days since April 16, 2014 to May10, 2014 at the PT Ramajaya farm’s on Krawangsari village, sub District Natar, South Lampung District.The chicken used was broiler strain cobb with trademark CP 707 product by PT. Charoen pokphandIndonesia tbk for 270 chicken. Broiler start to get handling between age of 14 and 26 days. The researchmethod was experimentally with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) were divided into 3 treatments andrepeated for 6 times, that is p1: rice hull; p2 : wood shavings; p3 : straw. The data were analysis withAnalysis of Variance and if it shows 5%. The result indicated that the treatmentis : (1) litter from rice hull,wood shavings, straw did not have significant effect (P>0,05) on red blood cell, white blood cell andhaemoglobin of broiler. Litter rice hull, wood shavings and straw are good for broiler maintained at closedhouse.

Abstract

This research aims to response of onset estrus and estrus duration at various parity Bali cattle aftertwice injection of prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α). This research has been done in the Sukoharjo 2,Pringsewu District. The material is used as much as 12 cows, and the average weight rangeaverage cow is 285 kg. Methods of research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) withthree treatments, they are (P0), (P1) and (P2). Each other treatment was repeated four times, theyare 4 Bali cattle parity 0 or heifers, 4 Bali cattle 1 or cow that has begat 1 times, and 4 Bali cattleparity 2 or cows that have been lambing 2 times. Hormone’s name is prostaglandin F2α (Juramate®) at a dose of 2 ml / tail. The results showed that there were highly significant differences(P<0.01) in the treatment of P0 and P1 to P2, but no effect between P0 and P1 to speed the onsetof estrus, and the differences were highly significant (P <0.01) between treatment on P0, P1, andP2 to the long estrus. The average respon of onset estrus for each successive treatments are P0 =44.15 hours; P1 = 48.89 hours; P2 = 22.33 hours. The average of estrus duration areRespectively : P0 = 12.94 hours; P1 = 20.85 hours; P2 = 16.63 hours.

Abstract

The research aimed to: (1) determine the effect of parities on the precentage of estrous andconception of Bali cows after estrous synchronization with prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) injectiontwice; (2) determine the best parity of Bali cows after estrous synchronization with prostaglandinF2α (PGF2α) injection twice from the various parities of Bali cows.The research was held in November until February 2013, located in Sukoharjo II Village,Sukoharjo District, Pringsewu Regency. This research used Completely Randomized Design(CRD) with three treatments and four repetitions. The treatments were Bali heifers (P0); Bali cowswhich have calved once (P1); and Bali cows which have calved twice (P2). Hormone used for thesynchronization was Juramate® with doses of 500 μg/cow or 2 ml/cow intramuscularly. Data ofpercentage of estrous and conception was analyzed by using Chi-square on significant level of 5%.The result of the research showed that estrous percentages after prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α)injection twice of Bali Cows P0, P1, P2 were 100%. The conception percentage of Bali cows P0, P1,P2 in a row were 100%; 75%; 75%. Based on the advanced test of Chi-square, parity was notsignificantly different (P>0,05) on the percentage of estrous and conception of Bali cows after theprostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) injection twice.

Abstract

The purpose of this reserch are to know value conception rate and the factors and magnitude factors which disturb conception Rate of Bali Cattles in Pringsewu Regency. This Research was held on December 2014 until January 2015 by using Bali Cattles that had been inseminated of 100 farmers as much 131 Bali Cattles and secondary data IB result from 5 Inseminators. Data was analysis by multifactors regression with SPSS (Statistics Packet for Social Science) program. The result showed that Conception Rate of Bali Cattles at Pringsewu Regency is 50,38%.  Factors that affect the conception rate are the system of provision of  water that positively associated with factor value 0,255, shape of enclosure wall that negatively associated with  factor value 0,142; Age of Bali Cattles that negatively associated with factor value 0,015, service per conception  that negatively associated with factor value 0,295. Abstract

The research was conducted on May 16—18 at the Laboratory of Technical Services Unit Regional Artificial Insemination Central Lampung, using semen from  Ongole cattle. aims of this research were determine the effect of different doses of rafinose and determine the optimal doses rafinosa in tris  yolk diluent for motility, percentage of live and abnormalities spermatozoa Ongole cattle. The experimental design used  completely randomized design with 6 treatments rafinosa doses (0,5%;  1,0%,  1,5%;  2,0%;  2,5%;  3%) in tris yolk diluent with 4 times replications. The data were analyzed using  analysis of varian with 5% or 1% significance level. Significantly different results was further tested by orthogonal polynomials.  The results showed that the addition of rafinosa doses effect were not significantly different (p>0.05) on percentage motility after prefreezing and Post Thawing Motility, the percentage of live sperm Post Thawing Motility, and the percentage of abnormal spermatozoa after equilibration, prefreezing, and Post Thawing Motility, but the effect is very significantly (p<0.01) on percentage motility spermatozoa after equlibration and percentage of live spermatozoa after prefreezing. Addition doses of rafinose significant effect (p <0.05) on the percentage of live sperm after equilibration. Addition doses rafinose based pattem ortogonal polinomial regression on percentege motility after equilibration with equations ӯ = 65,58-2,36x, the persentage of live sperm after equilibration with aquations ӯ=81,23-4,47x, and the persentage of live sperm after prefreezing with aquations ӯ=79,13-4,68x. Abstract

This study was conducted to 1) determine the effect local of probiotic supplements on shell thickness, weight loss persentage, and Haugh unit of eggs which stored ten days; 2) determine the optimal  level of supplements local of probiotic on shell thickness, weight loss presentage, and Haugh unit of eggs which stored ten days. This research was held on 08--19 December 2014  in the CV. Varia Agung Jaya henhouse laying  in  the District of  Seputih Mataram, Center of Lampung  Regency and continued on 20 December 2014--18 January 2015 in the Laboratory of Microbiology, Laboratory of Molecular Biology Faculty, University of Lampung. The study used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments of  local  probiotics in the diet (0%, 1%, 2%, and 3%) and 5 replications. Data obtained was analyzed using analysis of variance at 5% level and continued Orthogonal Polynomial test at 5% level. Based on these results we can conclude: effect of local probiotics in the diet (0,1,2, and 3%) no significant (P> 0.05) on the weight loss presentage and  Haugh unit of eggs which stored ten days, but significant (P <0.05) on  shell thickness. Increasing the percentage of local probiotic on the ration will improve shell thickness indicated by the regression equation ŷ = 0.42 + 0,24x, with r = 0.68 and R2 = 0.47.
