Abstract

Packed ice snacks are often sold in Elementary School environment at city center area, central city, and suburbs area of Malang. The packed ice snacks were made traditionally by the people using water and the water wells. Schools used as a place to sell by the sidewalk vendors, the school also provided the best-selling to selling ice because the elementary school children with their high activity may cause them thirst, and it will allow them to buy packed ice snacks sold in around the school. Generally, the elementary school students do not know the types of snacks consumed, they just know that by drinking ice can relieve their thirst, other than that they didn’t think about the dangers posed by drinking unhygienic ice. By drinking unhygienic ice will cause sickness on students that can affect their learning activities in school. One of types of beverages sold in elementary school is packed ice. Packed ice is likely to be contaminated by pathogenic bacteria which enabling certain standards to ensure the cleanliness. Water and food contaminated by pathogenic bacteria digestive tract is very dangerous to drink, particularly the water that comes from the well which it less qualified microbiology quality. Keywords: quality, microbiology, snack ice pack, MPN value, Coliform bacteria, Coliform fecal bacteria, E. coli bacteria.

Abstract

Kota Ternate adalah pusat pelajar di Provinsi Maluku Utara. Beberapa kasus kekerasan dan pengedaran narkoba di Kota Ternate sangat meresahkan pihak orangtua dan sekolah. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi bagi pihak sekolah dan pelajar dalam mencegah kekerasan dan penyebaran anrkoba dengan mengintegrasikan suatu model pengabdian GEN AKTIF dalam ekstrakurikuler. Dua sekolah model digunakan sebagai mitra yakni SMP IT Albina Ternate dan SMA Nurul Hasan Kota ternate. Pelaksanaan IbM dimulai dengan kegiatan sosialisasi Anti Narkoba berupa Olimpiade Anti Narkoba untuk pelajar SMA Sekota Ternate. Tahapan kedua ialah pendempingan mengenai GEN AKTIF dan penyuluhan anti narkoba, anti kekerasan dan anti aids. Pendampingan mengambil waktu selama empat bulan yang dilaksanakan disekolah masing-masing. Selanjutnya evaluasi oleh tim pengabdi. Semua rangkaian usulan tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan program IbM pelajar Kota Ternate dalam GEN AKTIF (Generasi anti kekerasan, narkoba dan zat adiktif). Rangkaian program melibatkan siswa secara langsung dalam mengelola kegiatan dan pembentukan model komunitas sekolah bernuansa anti kekerasan dan narkoba dikalangan pelajar. Akhir program, tim mendapatkan perubahan pengetahuan peserta baik dari SMP maupun SMA tentang narkoba, aids dan kekerasan, yakni : pengetahuan peserta SMA rata-rata meningkat dari 30% menjadi 67%; peserta SMP meningkat dari 22% menjadi 61% pada tes akhir. Respon peserta juga menyatakan bahwa 100% peserta senang dengan kegiatan ini, dan 93% peserta mendapat pengalalan baru dan bermanfaat bagi masa depan.

Abstract

Tamalene MN. 2017. Traditional knowledge on the use of local food crops by Togutil Ethnic in Halmahera Island, Indonesia. Asian J Agric 1: 66-72. Food crop is an important component in the life system of Togutil ethnic group in Halmahera Island. The main characteristic of the ethnic is their nomadic life despite the existence of some sedentary groups. Generally, the ethnic consumes wild food plants growing in their natural ecosystem. This paper presents selected result of food crop studies conducted in Halmahera Island Indonesia. The botanical supply of food crops of the ethnic has high usefulness in their social and cultural activities. Data was collected through in-depth interview method to key informants chosen based on purposive sampling. Plant species was identified in the Laboratory of Herbarium Botany Bogoriense of the Biological Research Center of Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI). 48 species of 23 families of food crops are used by Togutil tribe of Halmahera Island Indonesia. The food crops identified were wild plants of 45.83% growing in bushes habitat and primary forest and cultivated crops of 56.25% planted in the garden and yard. Other uses of the food crops were as medicinal plant of 64.28%, house building of 29.17%, and handicraft and adhesive for animal of 4.17%. In the cultural aspect, food crops were used for hunting ritual, medium of exchange (barter), welcoming guest ritual and traditional ritual. The value of Cultural Food Significance Index (CFSI) in very high significance category was 64.58%, high significance was 27.08%, and low significance and very low significance are 4.16%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Indonesian forest honeybee conservation e-module on students' environmental literacy skills in natural resource management courses. This study uses a one-group pretest and posttest design. The sample in this study was 22 students of natural resource management class who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. The learning was carried out 5 times, starting with the pretest and ending with the posttest. The data collection instrument used a multiple-choice test of as many as 29 questions which were conducted online using google form. Data analysis using N-Gain Score. The results showed that the gain-score was 0.8. So, can be concluded that the effectiveness of the Indonesian forest honeybee conservation e-module is quite high in improving students' environmental literacy skills, especially in the aspects of ecological knowledge, conservation knowledge, the attitude in presenting data and information, scientific behavior (having curiosity and caring for the environment), and wise behavior and responsible.

Abstract

Upaya mencari obat baru untuk mengobati penyakit malaria di negara Indonesia telah dilakukan, dimana banyak daerah endemis di Indonesia masih dijumpai penyakit Malaria seperti wilayah kepulauan Papua dan Maluku.Berbagai etnis di Indonesia memiliki khasanah budaya yang berbeda.Pada setiap etnis, terdapat beranekaragam kearifan lokal masyarakat, termasuk di dalamnya adalah pemanfaatan tumbuhan untuk pengobatan tradisional.Masyarakat adat kesultanan Jailolo merupakan salah satu etnis yang masih menggunakan tanaman sebagai obat tradisional.Pengetahuan lokal ini merupakan potensi untuk pengembangan obat dan ramuan anti malaria baru terstandar.Kebijakan terhadap pengembangan ramuan obat ini perlu dilakukan untuk menghindari maraknya Biopiracy dan Intellectual Property yang dilakukan oleh pihak luar terhadap kekayaan plasma nutfah Indonesia. Tumbuhan yang dimanfaatkan sebagai ramuan obat anti Malaria masyarakat adat Kesultanan Jailolo yaitu tumbuhan Justicia ganarussa, Alstonia scholais L. Carica papaya L. Orthosiphon aristatus, Tinospora crispa  Miers, Lansium domesticum, Ficus septica Brum L.Phyllanthus niruri L. dan Curcuma domestica Val.. Temuan penelitian ini yaitu masyarakat memanfaatkan 9 tumbuhan obat yang diramu dalam tiga ramuan campuran dan enam ramuan tunggal.
