Abstract

Abstract: It was found that a problem about learning of Social science in the fifth grade of Pandanwangi 4 Elementary school in Malang city which was still conventional. It had an effect on the lowness of activity and the result of students’ learning on social science lesson. This research was aimed to describe application of Talking stick model, and the result of students’ learning after talking stick was applied. This research used class action research which was done by using two cycles and the subject of this research was the fifth grade of Pandanwangi 4 Elementary School Malang. The result of this research showed that the application of Talking stick model could increase social science learning which had standard competence ‘respecting a service and the role of hero in preparing independence of Indonesia’. Pandanwangi 4 Elementary School which located in Blimbing sub district Malang city. Therefore, it was suggested that the teacher has to apply Talking stick model in social science learning. Keywords: Talking stick, Social science of Elementary school. Abstrak: Ditemukan masalah bahwa pembelajaran IPS di kelas V SD Pandanwangi 4 Kota Malang masih konvensional, hal ini berdampak pada rendahnya aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model Talking Stick, aktivitas siswa ketika diterapkan model Talking Stick, dan hasil belajar siswa setelah diterapkan model Talking Stick. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dua siklus, dengan latar kelas V SDN Pandanwangi 4 Kota Malang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Talking Stick dapat meningkatkan pembelajran IPS, kompetensi dasar “menghargai jasa dan peranan tokoh dalam mempersiapkan kemerdekaan Indonesia” SDN Pandanwangi 4 Kecamatan Blimbing Kota Malang. untuk itu disarankan agar guru menerapkan model Talking  Stick dalam pembelajaran IPS

Abstract

Pada pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar guru masih sering menggunakan media visual berupa gambar. Selain itu, siswa kelas IV membutuhkan media pembelajaran yang berbasis video dan memiliki animasi. Akibatnya pembelajaran menjadi kurang efektif, siswa merasa bosan dan kurang tertarik untuk mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Dengan demikia untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, maka perlu adanya pengembangan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan materi dan kebutuhan siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian Research And Development (R & D) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang terdapat lima tahapan yaitu (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implication dan (5) Evaluation. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) berdasarkan dari hasil validitas ahli media dan materi memperoleh rata-rata presentase kevalidan sebesar 90,4% dalam kategori “sangat valid”. (2) Hasil kepraktisan dari angket guru dan siswa memperoleh rata-rata presentase sebesar 94,35% dalam kategori “sangat praktis” dalam pembelajaran. (3) Hasil keefektifan dalam penggunaan multimedia besi batu tuan ini dengan melalui uji coba kelompok kecil dapat diketahui dari hasil tes memperoleh presentase sebesar 88%, sedangkan pada uji coba kelompok besar dapat diketahui dari hasil tes memperoleh presentase sebesar 91%. Maka dapat dikatakan pengembangan multimedia besi batu tuan efektif dalam pembelajaran. Berdasarkan dari data tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan multimedia besi batu tuan dinyatakan valid, praktis dan efektif, sehingga media layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This research is a development research by designing the traditional game of Tabak Galang based on the local wisdom of Gombang. This study aims to determine the feasibility of the traditional game of Tabak Galang based on the local wisdom of Gombang for fifth grade elementary school students. The development procedure used in this study was adapted from the ADDIE development model which has five stages, namely analysis, design, design, implementation, and evaluation. Design and development includes limited testing and extensive testing to determine product feasibility. The results of this study were declared valid by the validator with a value of 91.6%, and the material received a value of 85.6%. The results of the limited trial were declared practical after obtaining the average overall result through a student response questionnaire with a score of 100% which showed more than 61% of students gave a positive response. And it is declared effective if 85% of students get a KKM score of 75, where eight fifth grade students get a score of 100% and have reached the criteria for completeness with an average value of 90. While the broad trial is declared practical after obtaining the average overall result through a teacher response questionnaire. which obtained 96% results and a student response questionnaire with a value of 95.5% which showed more than 61% of students gave a positive response. And it will be declared effective if 85% of students get a KKM value of 75 where 20 students of class V Mojoroto 4 Kediri, i.e. 95% have reached the criteria of completeness with an average value of 88. So the traditional game of Tabak Galang is suitable for use in learning, as well as the game of Tabak Galang This has advantages in improving students' critical thinking skills, collaboration in groups, group communication and a more pleasant classroom atmosphere.
