Abstract

AbstractThis research was aimed at determining how students' mathematical communication skills in solving material of “Linear Program” who have high self-efficacy, moderate self-efficacy and low self-efficacy in SMA Negeri 9 Pontianak. The method in this research is descriptive study with descriptive qualitative research form. Techniques of data collection used are measurement techniques and direct communication technique. Data collection tools used in this study were questionnaires, written tests and interviews. It was found that students with high self-efficacy were able to express daily events into language or mathematical symbols; they were able to reflect pictures into mathematical ideas and were able to explain the results of answers in their own language or words. Students with moderate self-efficacy are being able to express daily events into language or mathematical symbols, are able to reflect images into mathematical ideas and write answers given with words but are incomplete and incorrect with information contained in the problems. Students with low self-efficacy find it difficult to understand the commands of the problems and are unable to solve the problems given. Keywords: Linear Program, Mathematical Communication Skills, Self-efficacy

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to know and describe the teacher?s class management, student?s learning activities, student?s respond and student?s outcomes in the implementation of reciprocal teaching approach in the operation of fraction topic at class VII SMPS LKIA Pontianak. The research method is descriptive method. The form of research is preexperiment with One Shot Case Study design.The research subjects are 15 students. Based on data analysis that review four aspects, the results are : (1) the teacher?s class management categorized very good with an average score 3,94; (2) student?s learning activities categorized active withan average percentage score 83%; (3) student?s respond categorize positive with percentage score 81%; and (4) student?s outcome is not reached classical completeness with only 67% of student can achieve the criteria of minimum completeness. Because only three out of four aspects that achieved, the conclusion of this research is the implementation of reciprocal teaching approach is not effective to apply in the operation of fraction topic at class VII SMPS LKIA Pontianak. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode penemuan terbimbing berbantuan media graphmatica terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi fungsi kuadrat di kelas X SMA Kemala Bhayangkari Kubu Raya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experimental Design dengan rancangan penelitian Control Group Only Posttest Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MIA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan X MIA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Berdasarkan uji t menggunakan program SPSS 17.0 for windows diperoleh nilai Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.031 <  0.05, yang artinya terdapat perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar antara siswa yang diberi pembelajaran menggunakan metode penemuan terbimbing berbantuan media graphmatica dan siswa yang diberi pembelajaran menggunakan metode ekspositori. Berdasarkan  perhitungan Effect Size, diperoleh nilai effect size sebesar 0,53 yang artinya menggunakan metode penemuan terbimbing berbantuan media graphmatica memberikan kontribusi sedang terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Kata kunci: Penemuan Terbimbing, Media Graphmatica Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of media-assisted guided discovery method graphmatica on student learning outcomes in a quadratic function of matter in class X SMA Kemala Bhayangkari Kubu Raya. The method used is Quasi-Experimental Design with the study design Posttest Only Control Group Design. The sample in this study were students of class X MIA 1 as a control class and X MIA 2 as the experimental class. Based on t test using SPSS 17.0 for Windows obtained the Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.031 <α = 0.05 which means that on average there is a difference between the learning outcomes of students who were given a guided discovery learning method aided graphmatica media and students who were learning to use the expository method. Based on Size Effect calculations, the value of the effect size of 0.53, which means using the media-assisted guided discovery graphmatica contributed were the results of student learning. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tahapan berpikir siswa kelas VIII SMP berdasarkan teori Van Hiele ditinjau dari gaya kognitif Field Dependent dan gaya kognitif Field Independent. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah 27 siswa kelas VIII SMP Islam Bawari Pontianak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes yang diberikan kepada subjek terpilih berdasarkan gaya kognitifnya. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif field dependent khususnya pada gaya kognitif slightly field dependent berada pada tahap visualisasi/pengenalan (tahap 1) dan untuk gaya kognitif strongly field dependent berada pada tahap pra-analisis. Sedangkan siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif field independent khususnya gaya kognitif slightly field independent berada pada tahap pra-analisis. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya kesamaan tahap berpikir antara gaya kognitif strongly field dependent dan slighly field independent.   Kata Kunci: Teori Van Hiele, Gaya Kognitif Abstract: This research aims to analyze the thinking levels of eighth grade students based on Van Hiele theory in terms of field dependent and field independent cognitive styles. This  research used qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of this research were 27 eighth grade students of SMP Islam Bawari Pontianak. The data collection technique in this research was test method that was given to chosen subjects based on their cognitive style. The data analysis result showed that students with field dependent cognitive style especially on the slightly field dependent cognitive style were at visualization/recognition level (level-1) and on the strongly field dependent cognitive style were at pre-analysis level. Meanwhile students with field independent cognitive style especially on the slightly field independent cognitive style were at pre-analysis. This fact showed that there were similarities of thinking levels between strongly field dependent and slightly field independent cognitive styles. . Keywords: Van Hiele’s Theory, Cognitive Style

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan Open-Ended terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi tabung dan kerucut di kelas IX SMPN 1 Sungai Raya. Penelitian ini berbentuk eksperimen semu dengan rancangan posttest-only control group design. Teknik yang digunakan adalah teknik pengukuran melalui tes tertulis berbentuk essai. Dari hasil posttest diperoleh skor rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 11,58 dan skor rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas kontrol sebesar 9,68. Dari hasil perhitungan uji U Mann Whitney, diperoleh  atau , maka terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Perhitungan effect size diperoleh sebesar 1,19. Sehingga kontribusi penggunaan pendekatan Open-Ended masuk dalam kriteria tinggi. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Open-Ended berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi tabung dan kerucut di kelas IX SMPN 1 Sungai Raya.   Kata kunci: Pendekatan Open-Ended, Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif, Tabung dan Kerucut Abstract: This research is aimed to determine the effect of the Open-Ended Approach toward student’s creative thinking ability in cylinder and cone material of ninth grade of SMPN 1 Sungai Raya. The form of this research is quasi experiment with posttest only control group design. The technique that is used in this research is measurement techniques via written tests in the form of essays. From the posttest result, it is known that the creative thinking ability of students’ average score in experiment class is 11,58 and the creative thinking ability of students’ average score in control class is 9,68. From U Mann Whitney test calculation, it is known that  or , so there are differences in creative thinking ability of students of experiment class and control class. Effect size calculation is 1,19. So the contribution of Open-Ended Approach included in high criteria. Based on these data, we can conclude that the Open-Ended Approach had effect on student’s creative thinking ability in cylinders and cone material of ninth grade of SMPN 1 Sungai Raya.   Keywords: Open-Ended Approach, Creative Thinking Ability, Cylinder and Cone

Abstract

 AbstractThe current tendency of mathematics learning process still depended on teacher. Teacher domination in learning process cause passive students learning  activities and classically unreached KKM in school.The implementation of Realistic Mathematic Education Approach can be considered as a solution. This research aims to find out and describe the effectiveness of The effectiveness of Realistic Mathematics Education Approach in Rectangular Learning Material at SMPN 6 Pontianak. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The research subject was class VII D. The completeness of learning outcomes classically reached 67,74%, students’ learning activities during learning process was categorized active with the average percentage is 71,93% and teacher’s class management was categorized good with the average is 3,08. The conclusion that can be determine is Realistic Mathematics Education Approach in Rectangular Learning Material is noteffectiveto be applied in SMPN 6 Pontianak.Keywords: Effectivity,Approach, Realistic

Abstract

AbstractCooperative learning belongs to one of the learning models that is often and practically used by teachers. Cooperative learning is a strategy of learning that involves the participation of students in a small group to interact with each other. Cooperative learning expected learning outcomes of students can make for the better. This research aims to describe the effectiveness of TAI type of cooperative learning on cartesian coordinate matter in class VIII SMPN 21 Pontianak. Research method used is descriptive method. Research design used are direct observation technique and measurement technique. The results are teacher?s class management categorized very good, student?s learning activities categorized active and student?s output not reach the classical completeness. Based on that result, the conclusion is TAI type of cooperative learning on cartesian coordinate matter in class VIII SMPN 21 Pontianak not effective because there is one category that can?t be fulfilled. Abstract

AbstractThis research wants to look at learning difficulties and the cause of learning difficulties for autistic chidren in the addition and subtraction of whole number in SMPLB Bina Anak Bangsa Pontianak. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Subject in this research were 3 out of 5 children with class IX SMPLB Bina Anak Bangsa Pontianak selected based on test results. The object of this research is the learning difficulties experienced by children with autism. Data collection techniques using observation, written tests and interviews. Data collection tools such as observation sheets, learning outcomes tests and interview guidelines to explore deeper the difficulties and causes of learning difficulties for autistic children. The results showed the learning difficulties of autistic children who appeared in mathematics learning the addition and subtraction of whole numbers 1) difficulty in the concept of the addition of identities, 2) difficulty in the concept of subtraction using the countdown method, 3) difficulties in using borrowing methods in reduction operations, 4) difficulty in understanding questions in the form of stories. The cause of learning difficulties in learning mathematics is the addition and subtraction of whole numbers 1) the lack of variations of housing questions given, 2) the lack of practice questions in the borrowing method, 3) the story problems in the learning of the addition of enumeration numbers are less relevant, and 4) the teacher gives a less varied practice of story questions. Keywords: Alphabetic Order, Bold, Capitalize Each Word, Font 11

Abstract

Abstract       This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model on algebraic material at class VIIA SMP Negeri 6 Pontianak. The research method is qualitative research and research design is a pre-experimental design. The subjects of this study were 28 seventh grade students of Pontianak State Middle School. There are three aspects that are used to determine the effectiveness of cooperative learning models with TPS, such as the implementation of learning, student activities, and completeness of student learning outcomes. There are two techniques for collecting data, namely measurement and observation techniques. The tool used in this study is a test of student learning outcomes in the form of essays, of observation of the implementation of learning, and observation of  of student activity. Data were analyzed and found that the implementation of learning was categorized very well, student activities were obtained during the two meetings including the active group, but the standard test scores did not meet the requirements. Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan higher order thingking skills siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah statistika dengan cara menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mencipta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan bentuk penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah delapan orang siswa kelas XI IPA 3 MAN 2 Pontianak. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat dua orang siswa kategori tinggi, terdapat dua orang siswa kategori sedang, terdapat dua orang siswa kategori rendah, dan terdapat dua orang siswa kategori sangat rendah. Berdasarakan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah statistika sebagai berikut: siswa kategori tinggi mampu menyelesaikan masalah statistika dengan cara mengenalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mencipta, siswa kategori sedang belum mampu menyelesaikan masalah statistika dengan cara mencipta. Sementara untuk siswa kategori rendah dan sangat rendah hanya mampu menyelesaikan masalah statistika dengan cara menganalisis saja.   Kata Kunci : Higher Order Thingking Skills, Statistika Abstract: The purpose of this research is to describe student’s higher order thingking skill to solve the problem about statistic with analysis step, evaluate step, and create step. The method that used is qualitative descriptive method. The subjects in this research are eight students in grade XI IPA 3 MAN 2 Pontianak. The result of this research show that, two students categoried in high category, two student in medium category, two students in low category, and two students in very low category. Based on this research, can be concluded that the students are in high category can solve the statistic problem with analysis step, avaluate step, and create step. Students are in medium category can’t do the synthesis step. While for students are in low and very low category only can solve the problem with analysis step.
