Abstract

This study aimed to produce learning of geography which valid and effective. This study was research and development (R & D) by reference to the stage of the 4-D models. The subyect Class X Students study of SMA 5 Semarang in 2014-2015 school year. The trial limited of scale taken from 15 students and the trail wide-scale was 35 students. The analysis of expert judgment using the standard formula Aikens V valid above 0:30, the valid device was on average above 0.30. Effective learning process is characterized by the thoroughness of learning outcomes on average 75-79 of value KMM 72, so that students achieve mastery in classical 80% of students. The improvement test of learning outcomes obtained t count of 4.78 tabel 1.70, so the value of  t count ≥ t table, so Ho rejected and Ha accepted. The learning achievement demonstrated an increase in N-Gain in the category of medium and high at 0.84 so that can be concluded that an effective learning effective. The learning kit was also practical based on student responses were very excellent amounted to 94% of students. Based on the such that learning valid and effective so that the objectives of learning development achieved.

Abstract

The success of education management is determined by the teachers’ readiness in preparing the process of education through teaching and learning instructions. At present, the problem is how the teachers’ performance is associated more with the quality of education. The performance of qualified teachers is demonstrated by the attitudes of the teachers who are capable and ready to play their professional role in the two major environments, school, and society. This study examines the teachers’ performance with various factors that influence it. This is a quantitative research study. The population was all business and management teachers of vocational schools (SMK) in Tegal City amounting to 202 teachers. The number of samples was 130 teachers. The data were collected through questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. The data were then analyzed employing the path analysis with SPPS software version 19 and Sobel test to assess the mediation variables. The results show that (1) the influence of compensation, academic supervision, and academic competence on the teachers’ work motivation was proven to be accepted; (2) the effect of compensation and academic supervision on the teachers’ performance was proven to be accepted; (3) the influence of work motivation on the teachers’ performance was proven to be accepted. Work motivation is a mediating variable. The results show a positive and significant influence. It is suggested that teachers continue to improve their work motivation and understand the academic supervision when performing tasks with various determining factors. Pedagogic competence needs to be continuously improved as a place to develop the teachers performance.

Abstract

Background : Low level of vitamin D impact the disease activity and the degree of fatigue in SLE patients. This study aims to determine the effect of vitamin D supplementation on disease activity and fatigue condition in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) patients with hipovitamin D.Methods: We performed an open clinical trial. Subjects were randomized into two different groups (supplementation or placebo) using simple random sampling. The treatment group got vitamin D3 softgel/ cholecalciferol 1200 IU/day or 30 mg/day, while the control group gotplacebo for 3 months. SLEDAI scores and FSS scores were calculated at pre and posttreatment. Results: There were 20 subjectsfor supplementation group and 19 subjects in the placebo group. From this study, before and after treatment, we found a significant difference of mean level of vitamin D in supplementation group (p=0.000), and no significant difference inpatients with placebo (p=0.427). Moreover, from the SLEDAI score analysis, observed a significant difference bothin the supplemented group (p=0.000) and the placebo group (p=0.006). FSS scores significantly different in the supplemented group (p=0.000). Incorrelation test, there was a negative correlation (r=-0763) between vitamin D level and disease activity (SLEDAI), and both showing stastistical significance between thepre supplementation (p=0.000) and post supplementation (r=-0846; p=0.000). Similarly to theFSS scores, there was a meaningfulnegative correlation (r=-0.931, p=0.000) between the level of vitamin D with FSS scores pre and post supplementation (r=-0.911; p= 0.000). Furthermore, there was a significant correlation between disease activity (SLEDAI) pre supplementation with fatigue condition pre supplementation (r=0.846; p = 0.000) and postsupplementation (r=0.913; p= 0.000).Conclusion: The supplementation of vitamin D 1200 IU per day in patients with SLE improve disease activity and degree of fatigue.
