Abstract

Despite the long and wide application, traditional medicine is known for its minimum efficacy. Nanoparticle technology has reported to optimally address this weakness by enhancing the ability of the medicine to penetrate the biological membrane and, thereby, increasing the absorption. In this research, Etlingera elatior (ginger flower) extract, which has antioxiandt activity, was formulated into nanoparticles with ionotropic gelation method using chitosan (0.08, 0.09, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3%) and 0.01% NaTPP. The nanoparticles were characterized by their particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential, and entrapment efficiency against total phenolic compound, flavonoid, and anthocyanin. The ones with the best properties were then analyzed with Scanning Electron Microscopic (SEM) method and tested for its antioxidant activity against DPPH. The results showed that all of the formula variations produced particle size in the range of 147.0-566.2 nm with a polydispersity index of < 0.5 and zeta potential between 0.45-45.90 mV. Also, the absorption efficiencies of phenol, flavonoid, and anthocyanin were 72.62-84.24%, 55.18-92.05%, and 75.67-97.96%, respectively. Overall, the best characteristics were presented by the combination of 0.1% chitosan and 0.01% NaTPP, which produced 246.4-nm nanoparticles with a polydispersity index of 0.418, and zeta potential of 26.60 mV. These nanoparticles also contained phenol, flavonoid, and anthocyanin with good absorption efficiencies, namely 78.5186%, 92.05%, and 97.96%, respectively. SEM analysis showed that these nanoparticles were round and had a soft surface. The radical scavenging activities of the extract and the nanoparticles against DPPH, as presented by the IC50 values, were 19.614 ppm and 160 ppm.

Abstract

Antidiabetic are many drugs available in the market, but most medications have side effects that are relatively high and cause toxicity, so it needs tobe develoved search of new drug compounds were more potent drugs with side effects as low. Various research have shown that bitter melon (Momordica charantia L) has an effect antidiabetic. But it is not known specifically as antidiabetic compounds that act on bitter melon (Momordica charantia L). This study was conducted to predict the active compounds of bitter melon (Momordica charantia L)potent as antidiabetic in silico, through the molecular docking, Drug scan, PreADMET and molecular dinamics simulation. The results of the 26 active compound bitter melon (Momordica charantia L) obtained one potential compounds that are active against nuclear reseptor RORα that is goyaglikosida-h and more potent than Rosiglitazon

Abstract

In this research, docking process was carried out from 1,3-dibenzoylthio- urea derivates compound to ribonucleotide reductase receptor. The receptor used was 2EUD with ligand GCQ (Gemsitabine Diphosphate) obtained from the website of protein data bank (PDB). The purpose of this research was to ????ind out the inter- action and toxicity of 1,3-dibenzoylthiourea derivates compound to ribonucleotide reductase receptor. All compounds was docked using ArgusLab 4.0.1 applications. The docking process performed by the method of ArgusDock. The validation of dock- ing used RMSD value gained < 2 that is 1, 704524 on calculate size X=16.5, Y=17.25 and Z=16.75. The analysis of docking result showed that 1,3-bis[(3-methylphenyl) carbonyl]thiourea compound can be predicted to have lowest free binding energy (ΔG) than comparative ligand and parent compound. From this research result can conclude that 1,3-bis[(3-methylphenyl)carbonyl]thiourea to inhibitor activity of ri- bonucleotide reductase receptor. Toxicity test accomplished using ToxTree applica- tion, with parameter such as Cramer Rules, Benigni / Bossa rulebase and Kroes TTC decision tree.  Key word: Docking, 1,3-dibenzoylthiourea, ribonucleotide reductase inhibitor, toxicity

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai pengaruh perbedaan metode ekstraksi terhadap kadar polifenol total atau total phenolic content (TPC). Pada penelitian ini, bunga kecombrang (Etlingera elatior (Jack) R.M.Sm) diekstraksi dengan dua metode yaitu maserasi dan refluks. Nilai TPC ditetapkan secara spektrofotometri menggunakan pereaksi Folin-Ciocalteu (FC) dan dihitung sebagai GAE (Galiic acid equivalent) yaitu jumlah kesetaraan gram asam galat dalam 100 gram ekstrak. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai TPC dengan metode maserasi (0,905g GAE/100g ekstrak) dan metode refluks (1,058g GAE/100g ekstrak) memberikan perbedaan yang bermakna  (p˂0,05) terhadap kadar fenol total.

Abstract

Sintrong merupakan satu jenis tanaman yang banyak dikonsumsi sebagai lalapan oleh masyarakat sunda. Sintrong diketahui memiliki kandungan senyawa polifenol yang memiliki potensi sebagai antibakteri. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan penetapan kadar polifenoldan uji aktivitas antibakteri dari ekstrak etanol daun sintrong. Penetapan kadar polifenol dilakukan dengan metode Jeong et al (2005) menggunakan reagen Folin-Ciocalteu dengan asam galat sebagai standar. Uji aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi agar. Hasil pengujian diperoleh kadar total senyawa fenolik ekstrak etanol daun sintrong adalah 1,8581 g GAE/100 g ekstrak dan konsentrasi hambat minimum ekstrak terhadap Escherichia coli ATCC 89391 sebesar 8% setara dengan konsentrasi Tetrasiklin HCl 8,698 µg/ml serta konsentrasi hambat minimum terhadap Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 65381 sebesar 8% setara dengan konsentrasi Tetrasiklin HCl 11,913 µg/ml.Kata kunci : Sintrong, ekstrak etanol, polifenol, antibakteri

Abstract

Telah dilakukan isolasi dan identifikasi senyawa tanin dari ekstrak air kulit batang kelapa gading (Cocos nucifera var. eburnea). Ekstraksi kulit batang kelapa gading dilakukan dengan cara infundasi. Ekstrak cair selanjutnya dikeringkan dengan metode freeze drying. Terhadap ekstrak selanjutnya dilakukan KLT analitik dengan eluen n-butanol : asam asetat : air (4 : 1 : 5). Eluen ini memisahkan tiga bercak noda dengan nilai Rf yaitu 0,51;0,67;0,78. Berdasarkan studi literatur dan pengamatan dibawah lampu UV 254 nm dan 366 nm bercak dengan nilai Rf 0,67 adalah senyawa yang diduga tanin. Senyawa dengan Rf 0,67 selanjutnya diisolasi dengan KLT preparatif. Isolat selanjutnya diidentifikasi dengan spektrofometer UV-Vis dan FTIR. Hasil analisis spektrofotometer UV-Vis menunjukkan bahwa isolat memiliki serapan pada panjang gelombang maksimum 333 nm. Hasil identifikasi dengan spektrofotometer FTIR menunjukan serapan – serapan spesifik dari senyawa tanin seperti rentangan OH asimetri pada bilangan gelombang 3424,96 cm-1, rentang CH pada 2923,56 cm-1, rentangan C=C cincin aromatik pada 1635,34 cm-1 C-O alkohol sekunder pada 1130,8 cm-1 dan benzene pada 759,816 cm-1. Kata kunci :          Kulit batang kelapa gading (Cocos nucifera Var. eburnea), tanin,      kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT), spektrofotometer UV-Vis, FTIR.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini untuk memberikan informasi tentang pangan fungsional dan suplemen makanan serta memperkenalkan contoh produknya yaitu susu kedelai berbasis mikroalga. Metode kegiatan dalam bentuk sosialisasi dengan cara diskusi dan pembagian produk. Sasaran kepada masyarakat terutama ibu rumah tangga dengan jumlah yang hadir 43 orang. Untuk mengetahui pemahaman peserta dilakukan evaluasi dalam bentuk kuisioner sertatanya jawab terkait materi yang disampaikan. Hasil yang telah dicapai bahwa peserta dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan terkait produk nutrasetikal dengan presentase rerata 80-90%, serta diharapkan dapat membuat atau mengembangkan inovasi produk lainnya. Abstract: This community service aims to provide information about functional foods and food supplements and introduce microalgae based soy milk products. Methods in socialization activities by discussion and product distribution. The target for the community, especially recitation participants, with the number of people attending, is about 43 people. To find out the understanding of the evaluation participants in the form of questionnaires and questions and answers related to the material presented. The results can increase knowledge related to nutraceutical products with a precented of 80-90%, and create or develop other product innovations.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan uji aktivitas sitotoksik dari ekstrak bunga kecombrang yang diekstraksi menggunakan pelarut dengan berbagai tingkat kepolaran terhadap sel T47D. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan yaitu refluks secara bertingkat dengan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat dan metanol. Hasil uji aktivitas sitotoksik diketahui ekstrak n-heksan memiliki potensi sitotoksisitas yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan ekstrak etil asetat dan metanol dengan nilai IC50 berturut-turut adalah 372,117 ppm; 455,263 ppm; 448,589 ppm.Kata Kunci : kecombrang, refluks, kepolaran pelarut, aktivitas sitotoksik

Abstract

Penentuan kadar total senyawa fenol pada ekstrak daun dan biji papaya (Carica papaya L) telah dilakukan dengan menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Sebagai senyawa pembanding digunakan asam galat yang direaksikan dengan reagen Follin-Ciocalteu dan natrium karbonat 7%. Nilai kadar total senyawa fenol dihitung sebagai GAE (Galiic Acid Equivalent) yaitu jumlah kesetaraan terhadap asam galat. Ekstrak daun papaya memberikan nilai kadar total senyawa fenol g GAE/100 g ekstrak sementara ekstrak biji pepaya memberikan nilai kadar total senyawa fenol g GAE/100 g ekstrak. Dengan demikian diketahui bahwa senyawa fenolik lebih banyak terdapat pada daun papaya dibandingkan pada bijinya.
