Abstract

ABSTRACT.The prevalence of overweight among adolescents continues to increase, which can increase the risk of non-infectious diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart health problems, as well as psychological problems. In Aceh, the cases of obesity and overweight in adolescents reach 11.6%, and this is thought to be caused by a diet dominated by processed instant foods, soft drinks, fast food, and a lack of physical activity. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between fast food consumption habits, snacking habits, duration of watching television and playing games, physical activity, nutrition knowledge, pocket money, and place of residence with obesity among students of MAN 1 Banda Aceh. This study uses a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected through questionnaires and measurements of weight and height. The study was conducted at MAN 1 Banda Aceh from July 18-25, 2022 with a sample of 95 students from MAN 1. Data analysis was conducted using univariate analysis, bivariate with logistic regression tests, and multivariate with logistic regression tests. The study results show that the proportion of students who experience obesity is 30.53%. Variables that have a relationship with the incidence of obesity in students of MAN 1 Banda Aceh are frequent consumption of fast food (OR = 3.71; 95% CI = 1.67-8.26; p = 0.001), frequent snacking (OR = 4.07; 95% CI = 1.78-9.30; p = 0.001), poor nutrition knowledge (p = 0.02; OR = 2.76; 95% CI = 1.17-6.51), living in a boarding house (p = 0.001 OR = 40.55; 95% CI = 4.80-341.93; p = 0.001), and living in a dormitory (OR = 7.69; 95% CI = 1.76-33.53; p = 0.007). However, in the multivariate test results, only the variables of living in a boarding house (OR = 44.21; 95% CI = 3.10-547.24; p = 0.005) and living in a dormitory (OR = 8.6; 95% CI = 1.30-56.65; p = 0.025) have a relationship with the incidence of obesity. It is recommended that students who live in boarding houses pay more attention to and regulate their eating patterns such as the type of food, meal times, and portions, as well as avoid and control factors that have the potential to cause obesity. Packed meals can be one way for parents to prevent their children from consuming unhealthy foods.Keywords: Obesity, teenagerABSTRAKPrevalensi kelebihan gizi pada remaja terus meningkat, yang dapat meningkatkan risiko penyakit non-infeksi seperti diabetes, hipertensi, dan masalah kesehatan jantung, serta masalah psikologis. Di Aceh, kasus kegemukan dan obesitas pada remaja mencapai 11,6%, dan hal ini diduga disebabkan oleh pola makan yang didominasi oleh makanan olahan instan, minuman ringan, makanan cepat saji, dan kurangnya aktivitas fisik. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi hubungan antara kebiasaan konsumsi makanan cepat saji, kebiasaan ngemil, durasi menonton televisi dan bermain game, aktivitas fisik, pengetahuan gizi, uang saku, dan tempat tinggal dengan obesitas pada siswa/i MAN 1 Banda Aceh. Studi ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan Cross-sectional. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan pengukuran berat dan tinggi badan. Studi dilakukan di MAN 1 Banda Aceh dari tanggal 18-25 Juli 2022 dengan sampel sebanyak 95 siswa/i MAN 1. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis univariat, bivariat dengan uji regresi logistik, dan multivariat dengan uji regresi logistik. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa proporsi siswa/i yang mengalami obesitas sebesar 30,53%. Variabel yang memiliki hubungan dengan kejadian obesitas pada siswa/i MAN 1 Banda Aceh adalah sering mengkonsumsi makanan cepat saji (OR=3,71; 95% CI=1,67-8,26; p=0,001), sering ngemil (OR=4,07; 95% CI=1,78-9,30; p=0,001), pengetahuan gizi kurang (p=0,02; OR=2,76; 95% CI=1,17-6,51), tempat tinggal di kos (p=0,001 OR=40,55; 95% CI=4,80-341,93; p=0,001), dan tinggal di asrama (OR=7,69; 95% CI=1,76-33,53; p=0,007). Namun, dalam hasil uji multivariat hanya variabel tempat tinggal di kos (OR=44,21; 95% CI=3,10-547,24; p=0,005) dan tinggal di asrama (OR=8,6; 95% CI=1,30-56,65; p=0,025) yang terdapat hubungan dengan kejadian obesitas. Disarankan kepada siswa/i yang tinggal di kos untuk lebih memperhatikan dan mengatur pola makan seperti jenis makanan, waktu makan, dan porsi makan, serta menghindari dan mengontrol faktor yang berpotensi menyebabkan obesitas. Rantangan dapat menjadi salah satu cara orangtua untuk mencegah anak mengkonsumsi makanan yang tidak sehatKata kunci: Obesitas, Remaja
