The Indonesian nation at that time communicated using the Malay language, which influenced and encouraged the growth of unity and brotherhood among nations. It was at that time that the Indonesian youth raised the Malay language to become Indonesian, that is, as the unifying language for the entire Indonesian nation (Youth Pledge, October 28, 1928). The national awakening encouraged the rapid development of the Indonesian language. The proclamation of Indonesian independence on August 17, 1945 has confirmed the position and function of language as the state language. Now, the Indonesian language has been used in various corners of Indonesia by the community as the language of national unity (Bengkulu Language Office, 2017).
