Abstract

This study is experimental research that aims to know about the influence Adversity Quotient (AQ) of the achievement students’ mathematical critical thinking ability. The population of this study is the students of Junior High School in Cimahi City, West Java, Indonesia; while the sample is 79 students selected purposively. The instruments of this study are tests and non-tests. They are based on the assessment of good characteristics towards students' mathematical critical thinking abilities, while the non-test instrument is based on the assessment of good characteristics towards AQ. The results show that: (1) AQ gives positive influence to the achievement students’ mathematical critical thinking ability with the influence of 61%, while the rest of it (39%) is influenced by other factors outside AQ; (2) there are differences in achievement in the students’ mathematical critical thinking ability based on AQ level (climber, camper, quitter).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the ability of mathematical communication and student learning interest and describe it especially on triangle and quadrilateral material on the students of class VII PGRI 168 Cikalongwetan Junior High School. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects studied are class VII SMP PGRI 168 Cikalongwetan consisting of 6 people. The instrument used in the form of a written test that contains 5 items about mathematical communication and 25 students questionnaire scale student interest. The results were tested statistically using SPSS IDM software version 21 to find normality and correlation using product moment person. Data validity is done by triangulation technique and source triangulation. The results of the research show that there is a relationship that interplay between the ability of mathematical communication and student learning interest.

Abstract

This research to find out in depth about the relationship of self confidence to the ability to problem solving mathematics SMK students. The population in this research is SMK in Cipatat. Instrument in this research in the form of description of ability of mathematics  problem solving as much as 5 item, and self confidence questionnaire of student as much 30 statement. Methods in this research using correlational research  methods. The result of this research shows that there is a correlation (r) value on Person Corellation between self confidence with students’ mathematics problem solving ability is 0,597**. Form these results show the level of relationships that are classified and indicate the direction of a positive relationship
