Abstract

A Church teaching that presents more specifically Mary as a model in divine worship is Marialis Cultus. This apostolic letter, promulgated by Pope Paul VI on February 2, 1974, aims to promote the veneration of the Blessed Virgin Mary especially in divine worship. The Marialis Cultus clearly shows the virtues of the virgin Mary, namely humility which is shown by listening to the Word of God and carrying it out, always praying and expressing her hopes to God. This research uses a literature study approach by collecting various primary and secondary references related to the Marialis cultus document, catechesis on Mary as a model of the Church and analyzing the text and context of the Catholic Church today regarding the implementation of catechesis on Mary. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing from various references used. The findings in this study are that the Church sees that the actual situation carried out by the people is really concerning, for example: The people have not fully opened themselves to God, humility has not been truly realized so that some people have not listened to the word and implemented it, or listened only to the mind not to the heart, praying just praying without effort and perseverance. So that one solution to answer the situation of this kind of people is the catechesis of the people about Mary which is sourced from the Marialis Cultus document.

Abstract

Research with the theme above is the result of research motivated by the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, which resulted in a change from the offline to online lecture system. This has an impact on the student mentoring process at Pontianak State STAKat. Routine spiritual life assistance activities by lecturers which are usually carried out every day in the morning have been stopped since the pandemic until we are now entering our 3rd year without direct face-to-face contact. The reality is that the influence of this shift in the learning system means that the lecture process is not completely optimal. The aim of this research is to find out and explore how lecturers at STAKat Negeri Pontianak can use e-learning, what e-learning platforms are used, the applications, what are the obstacles, and whether the final goal of teaching is conveyed to the target (students)? This research uses a qualitative approach. The informants in this research were lecturers at the Pontianak State STAKat. The lecture process, which was initially carried out offline, especially as a university that produces candidates for Catholic Religion Teachers, Catechists, is an effort to form prospective pastoral workers who are knowledgeable and faithful, have good behavior, not just make people smart. In the lecture process which has been taking place online for the last 3 years or so, it is hoped that the knowledge conveyed is not just known and studied, but is truly understood and applied in everyday life in real action. Therefore, prospective pastoral workers must continue to experience the process of forming or developing themselves through spiritual life assistance. The findings from the results of this research are that even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, lecturers, especially Catholic lecturers in the role, are trying as hard as possible to learn using e-learning applications, carrying out lectures while still paying attention to all cognitive aspects and spiritual life support for prospective pastoral workers

Abstract

The enhancement of religious education within society is influenced by various factors, including culture, which plays a significant role in shaping personalities and knowledge of the Christian faith. This study aims to examine the extent of the influence of "umpasa/umpama" in Batak Toba culture on religious education in the Parish of Saint Paulus Onan Runggu. The research method employed is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The study population comprises adult parishioners of Saint Paulus Onan Runggu, with a sample size of 40 individuals. The validity of the research instrument was tested using the Product Moment correlation formula, and the instrument's reliability was assessed using the Spearman Brown formula. The data analysis showed that the calculated chi-square (x²) was greater than the table chi-square (x²), indicating that the hypothesis could be accepted. The critical value of the Product Moment correlation at a 95% confidence level, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.312 and a sample size (N) of 40, was computed. The hypothesis testing result for the role of "umpasa/umpama" in Batak Toba culture as variable X on religious education in the Parish of Saint Paulus Onan Runggu as variable Y yielded a calculated t-value of 0.708, which was compared to the table value of 0.312. If the calculated t-value exceeds the table value, the hypothesis is accepted; otherwise, it is rejected. Therefore, the hypothesis is accepted, indicating that "umpasa/umpama" in Batak Toba culture significantly influences religious education in the Parish of Saint Paulus Onan Runggu.

Abstract

Abstrak Kualitas diri atau bobot rohani seseorang selalu terkait erat dengan pengalaman nilai dan keyakinan yang berasal dari beragam aspek kebudayaan, agama, sosial, ekonomi, politik, dan ideologi. Spiritualitas individu mencerminkan panggilan hidup serta nilai-nilai yang diyakininya, yang turut membentuk cara individu tersebut merespons dan menjalani kehidupan sehari-hari. Sekolah Tinggi Agama Katolik Negeri Pontianak berupaya menjadi wadah bagi pembentukan komunitas yang berilmu dan beriman Katolik, khususnya dalam mencetak calon guru agama Katolik atau katekis yang bermanfaat bagi gereja, masyarakat, dan negara. Salah satu aspek penting dalam proses ini adalah pembentukan hidup rohani, yang mencakup Pembentukan Diri, praktik doa pribadi dan bersama, kajian kitab suci, penghayatan liturgi, dan partisipasi dalam Persekutuan Kristiani. Penelitian yang menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dilakukan untuk memahami fenomena serta tantangan yang dihadapi dalam pembentukan hidup rohani mahasiswa dan dosen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi pembentukan hidup rohani saat ini sangat memprihatinkan
