<![CDATA[This research aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education approach on mathematics conceptual understanding skill. The population in this study was all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 20 Bandar Lampung for the 2023/2024 academic year, distributed into 10 classes. The sample for this research was students in class VIII-A as an experimental class consisting of 30 students and VIII-C as a control class consisting of 29 students selected using a purposive random sampling technique. The research design used was a pretest-posttest control group design. Based on the results of the t-test, it was found that the average ability to mathematics conceptual understanding skill of students who took learning using the Realistic Mathematics Education approach was higher than the average mathematics conceptual understanding skill of students who took conventional learning. Thus, learning with the Realistic Mathematics Education approach influences mathematics conceptual understanding skill. Keywords: influence; mathematics conceptual understanding skill; realistic mathematics education AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 20 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2023/2024 yang terdistribusi ke dalam sepuluh kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen yang terdiri dari 30 siswa dan kelas VIII-C sebagai kelas kontrol yang terdiri dari 29 siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pretest posttest control group design. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes dengan instrumen lembar tes pemahaman konsep matematis yang sudah memenuhi kriteria valid dan reliabel. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t diperoleh bahwa rata-rata kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education lebih tinggi daripada ratarata kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.
