<![CDATA[Prophylactic Antibiotics in Heart DiseaseInfective endocarditis (IE) is an uncommon but lifethreatening infection. Despite advances in diagnosis, antimicrobial therapy, surgical techniques, and management of complications, patients with IE still have high morbidity and mortality rates related to this condition.
