Abstract

AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis kesulitan siswa dalam belajar mata pelajaran matematika terhadap penyelesaian soal yang membutuhkan kemampuan berfikir tinggi atau High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Informan penelitian ini yaitu guru kelas IV dan siswa kelas IV MIN 2 Palembang. Data kualitatif tersebut dianalisis menggunakan reduksi, kemudian disajikan, lalu penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa bentuk kesulitan belajar siswa yaitu siswa mengalami kesulitan memahami simbol (pengetahuan faktual), kurang memahami cara mengerjakan operasi penjumlahan bilangan bulat (pengetahuan prosedural), dan kurangnya ketelitian pada soal-soal HOTS mata pelajaran matematika materi operasi penjumlahan bilangan bulat. Faktor-faktor penyebab siswa kesulitan belajar dalam penyelesaian soal HOTS yaitu kurangnya ketelitian dalam mengerjakan soal HOTS, kurangnya kemampuan/kompetensi awal siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika, proses pembelajaran yang dialami kurang/belum maksimal, dan siswa kurang memahami soal HOTS.AbstractThe purpose of this research was to analyze the students' difficulties in learning mathematics to solve question problems that require high-level thinking abilities (HOTS). The research type used in this study was descriptive qualitative. The data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The informants of this research were the teacher and the students of the fifth grade at MIN 2 Palembang. The qualitaive data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The result indicated that the students' learning difficulties were having difficulties of understanding symbols (factual knowledge), lack of understanding of integer operations (procedural knowledge), and lack of accuracy in high order thinking problems especially integer operations of mathematics. The factors causing students learning difficulties in completing HOTS questions were lack of thoroughness in the HOTS question process, lack of students' initial abilities in mathematics, lack of learning experiences, and lack of understanding HOTS questions.
