Abstract

Kata kunci : Adversity Quotient, Resiliensi, Penderita Kanker stadium lanjut, RSUD Ulin BanjarmasinABSTRACTPatients with advanced-stage cancer face difficulties in the fight against chronic disease, so it takes adversity quotient type climber to survive, rise up and adapt (resilience). Purpose of this study was to find out correlation between adversity quotient and resilience in patients with advanced-stage cancer. Samples were 60 patients with advanced-stage cancer who underwent chemotherapy in Edelweis room, using accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using a scale of adversity quotient and a scale of resilience. Based on Pearson's product moment correlation test, it was found out that the higher adversity quotient, the higher resilience, and conversely. The effective contribution of adversity quotient to resilience was 95.1% while remaining 4.9% was likely influenced by other variables, such as empathy and reaching out. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the adversity quotient and resilience in patients with advanced-stage cancer in Edelweis Room was in the high category. Keywords: adversity quotient, resilience, patients with advanced-stage cancer, Ulin hospital Banjarmasin
