Abstract

Abstrak: Salah satu mata pencaharian utama masyarakat di Desa Oelolot Kecamatan Rote Barat, Kabupaten Rote Ndao ialah petani tambak rumput laut. Latar belakang dilakukannya pembinaan dan pendampingan ini adalah karena kurangnya pemahaman petani rumput laut Desa Oelolot Kabupataen Rote Ndao tentang varian penjualan dan pengolahan rumput laut yang berdampak pada minimnya pendapatan mereka. Maka, tujuan kegiatan ini adalah adanya peningkatan pemahaman tentang varian pengolahan dan penjualan rumput laut. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemberian pemahaman tentang gizi makanan hasil olahan rumput laut (agar-agar) dan pendampingan (praktek) pengolahan rumput laut menjadi agar-agar serta alternatif penjualan olahan rumput laut. Hasil yang didapat adalah meningkatnya pemahaman petani rumput laut Desa Oelolot tentang gizi makanan hasil olahan rumput laut dan alternative pengolahan dan penjualan rumput laut berupa agar-agar demi peningkatan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan petani rumput laut.Abstract: One of the main livelihoods of the people in Oelolot Village, West Rote District, Rote Ndao Regency is seaweed farming farmers. The background for this coaching and assistance is due to the lack of understanding of seaweed farmers in Oelolot Village, Rote Ndao Regency about the sales and processing variants of seaweed which have an impact on their minimal income. Thus, the aim of this activity is to increase understanding of the variants of processing and selling seaweed. The method used is providing an understanding of the nutrition of seaweed processed foods (jelly) and assistance (practice) of processing seaweed into jelly as well as alternative sales of processed seaweed. The results obtained are the increased understanding of seaweed farmers in Oelolot Village about the nutrition of seaweed processed food and alternative processing and sales of seaweed in the form of jelly for the sake of increasing the income and welfare of seaweed farmers.
