<![CDATA[ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Numbered Head Together dan tipe Think Pair Share di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Babalan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Babalan yang berjumlah 9 kelas dan menjadi sampel penelitian ini adalah 2 kelas yang telah dipilih secara acak yaitu kelas VIII-2 menjadi kelas eksperimen I dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Numbered Head Together dan kelas VIII-4 menjadi kelas eksperimen II dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Think Pair Share dengan masing-masing kelas berjumlah 31 orang siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua jenis instrumen yaitu pretest dan posttest yang telah divalidasi dalam bentuk soal uraian. Pada kelas eksperimen I NHT, nilai rata-rata pretest adalah 29,75 dan nilai rata-rata posttest adalah 78,94, sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen II TPS , nilai rata-rata pretest adalah 30,73 dan nilai rata-rata posttest adalah 85,04. Dari hasil analisis data pretest dan posttest dilakukan uji normalitas untuk mengetahui apakah data berdistribusi normal dan uji homogenitas untuk mengetahui apakah data homogen. Setelah diuji, terbukti data berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Setelah data pretest dan posttest terbukti berdistribusi normal dan homogen, dilakukan uji hipotesis untuk menjawab hipotesis penelitian dengan menggunakan uji t dua pihak. Dari hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh thitung = < ttabel (2,00) sementara kriterianya terima H0 jika –ttabel (-2,00) < thitung ( ) < ttabel (2,00) ( tidak memenuhi) sehingga tolak H0 dan terima Ha. Hal ini berarti bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Head Together dan tipe Think Pair Share di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Babalan..Kata Kunci : Model Pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Head Together (NHT) dan Think Pair Share (TPS), Komunikasi Matematis ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is determined whether there are differences in the ability of students' mathematical communication taught by using the model of learning Numbered Head Together and Think Pair Share type in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Babalan. This type of research is a quasi experiment. Population in this research is all class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Babalan which amounts to 9 class and become sample of this research is 2 class which have been chosen randomly that is class VIII-2 become experiment class I by using model of learning Numbered Head Together and class VIII-4 into second experimental class by using Think Pair Share learning model with each class of 31 students. This study uses two types of instruments: pretest and posttest that have been validated in the form of a description problem. In the experimental class I NHT, the average pretest value was 29.75 and the mean posttest was 78.94, whereas in the experimental class II TPS, the pretest average was 30.73 and the mean posttest was 85,04. From the analysis of pretest and posttest data, normality test is used to find out whether the data is normal distribution and homogeneity test to know whether the data is homogeneous. Once tested, the data proved normal and homogeneous distributed. After the pretest and posttest data proved to be normal and homogeneous distributions, hypothesis testing was done to answer the research hypothesis by using two-t test. From the hypothesis test results obtained tcount = -2.22 <ttable (2.00) while the criterion receives H0 if -ttable (-2.00) <tcount (-2.22) <ttable (2.00) (does not meet) so reject H0 and accepting Ha. This means that there are differences in students' mathematical communication skills taught by using cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together and Think Pair Share type in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Babalan.
