Abstract

Anemia is related to reproductive health problems especially in women. Anemia is a deficiency of hemoglobin (Hb) levels in the blood i.e. hb levels <12 gr / dl . Adolescents who experience anemia will result in impaired growth and development, weak due to frequent infections, the purpose of this study to determine the effect of guava juice on hemoglobin levels in young women. This research uses Quasi Experimental design one group pretest postest design. The research design used is to divide the samples into two groups, namely the treatment group and the control group. The number of samples of 30 young women with Purposive Sampling techniques. Analyze univariate and bivariate data using computerized dependent t-tests, using SPSS. The results of the average hb research before administration of guava juice is 10.8 gr% Hb minimum before administration of guava juice is 10.6 gr% and the maximum Hb measurement result is 11.2 gr%, while the standard deviation of Hb before administration of guava juice is 0.13 and the average HB after administration of guava juice is 11.4 gr %, Minimum HB is 10.6 gr% and the maximum Hb measurement result is 12.5 gr%, while the hb deviation stadar after administration of guava juice is 0.13 After the test t paired sample obtained the average difference before and after treatment is 0.6. So p value = 0.001 < 0.05 then Ha received Ho rejected, meaning guava juice affects the increase in hemoglobin levels in young women.
