<![CDATA[Significant role of SMEs and has been proven as a driver of economic growth needs to be developed in order to have competitiveness. SME competitiveness can be achieved either with the use of IT to enhance business transformation, the accuracy and efficiency of the information exchange. This study is aimed to: determine the adoption of IT by SMEs, determine the reason for SMEs to adopt or not adopt IT, and knowing factor inhibitors of IT adoption by SMEs. The study was conducted in 33 SMEs in the region Gedong Meneng, Bandar Lampung. The results of this study indicate that the level of computer adoption among SMEs is proved high enough.However, the rate of Internet adoption among SMEs is still very low. Used of computer technology by SMEs is still not optimized for the things that gives value to the business development and other strategic things. Constraints of computer and Internet adoption in SMEs is dominated by internal problems, such as: they do not need the internet, funding for technology investment, and limited human resources capable who can run the technology.  Key words:Information Technology, Small and Medium Entreprises]]>
