Abstract: The country of Indonesia is now experiencing business development in the culinary field, so that local restaurants or restaurants compete to rack their brains to provide good and unique services in increasing the interest of their respective customers. Coupled with the increasingly rapid development of globalization, many foreign-style restaurants/restaurants have emerged which are being loved by local people. However, the Indonesian state with a Muslim majority population will certainly be careful in choosing a restaurant, because in Islam there are halal and haram laws that regulate them, so that a restaurant is expected to have a halal certificate from the MUI as the government agency that oversees this, as well as in waroeng steak and shakes. The purpose of this study, how important and its role is to use a halal certificate in the waroeng steak and shake business. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The type of research used is field research. The data used are primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that 1). Halal certificates are very important in the restaurant business, this can be seen from the results of research conducted by researchers on the waroeng steak and shake business. 2). The role of halal certificates in the waroeng steak and shake business in increasing customers is very large.
