ABSTRACT Background: The use of traditional medicine as a complementary or alternative medicine is increasing throughout the world. Knowledge, attitude can influence the choice of treatment. Research methods: The type of research used is an observational study using a Cross Sectional design which was carried out at the Tresna Werdha Community Home for Tama Indralaya using a questionnaire. Data analysis used Chi-square statistical analysis. The results of the study 19 respondents who had good knowledge mostly used traditional medicine, namely 63.2%. Similarly, respondents who have a level of knowledge in the medium category mostly use traditional medicine, which is 69.6%. Meanwhile, from a total of 18 respondents who have poor knowledge, most of them do not use traditional medicine, namely 72.2% of respondents. The 20 respondents who had a good attitude were mostly traditional drug users, namely 13 (65%), and similarly, respondents who had an attitude in the moderate category were mostly traditional drug users, namely 10 (76.9%) out of a total of 13 respondents. Meanwhile, for the group of respondents who have attitudes in the bad category, most of them do not use traditional medicine, namely 17 (60.7%) of the total 27 respondents. Conclusion: the results of this study can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and use of traditional medicine with (p: 0.020 : 0.05), and there is a significant relationship between attitudes and use of traditional medicine with (p: 0.033 : 0.05). Sugestion: the education about the benefits of traditional medicine should be held every months at eldry social institution. Keywords: Traditional Medicine, Knowledge, Attitude.
