<![CDATA[This article aims to examine the Majelis Taklim institution as an Indonesian non-formal-based Islamic educational institution. Majelis Taklim is an Islamic educational institution that existed at the time of the Prophet Muhammad when he carried out his first da'wah, namely at the house of Arqom bin Al-Arqom. The organization of the Taklim Council certainly cannot be separated from the role of the government. One of them is contained in the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 55 of 2007 concerning Religious and Religious Education Article 23 concerning the Taklim Council. The Taklim Council is a forum for the formation of religious souls and personalities that play a balancing role in all movements of Muslim life activities. The Taklim Council is open not only to parents, but also to the general public, including young people who wish to gain knowledge through this non-formal education. The Taklim Council is expected to be able to contribute as a means in achieving Islamic ideals to create a society that is in accordance with Islamic values towards Khairu Ummah (the best people).]]>
