ANALISIS PENURUNAN KUALITAS DAN UPAYA PENGENDALIAN CEMARAN AIR SUNGAI RUPIT

Abstract

ABSTRAKLatar Belakang : Pemakaian air bersih yang tidak memenuhi standar kualitas dapat menimbulkan gangguan kesehatan, baik secara langsung dan cepat maupun tidak langsung secara perlahan. Sungai Rupit ialah salah satu sungai utama di Kabupaten Musi Rawas Utara yang tercantum DAS Musi. Sungai Rupit mempunyai debit rata- rata 54, 64 m3/ detik. Sungai Rupit ialah sungai yang melewati  Kecamatan Karang Jaya serta Kecamatan Rupit. Adanya keluhan terkait menurunnya kualitas air Sungai Rupit menjadi landasan dalam melakukan analisis kualitas air sungai berdasarkan Kriteria Mutu Air menurut Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 82 Tahun 2001, dan melakukan tindakan pengendalian terhadap cemaran air di sungai Rupit yang perlu dilaksanakan.Metode : Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini merupakan metode penelitian deskriptif dimana parameter yang diukur dan dilakukan pengamatan teridiri dari pH, TSS, BOD, COD,DO, Pospat, Nitrat, dan Fecal Coliform dengan metode pengambilan Purposive sampling.Hasil : Status mutu air sungai Rupit dengan tingkat indeks cemaran yaitu termasuk kategori cemaran ringan dengan nilai kisaran 0.676 mg/l - 3.268 mg/l dan  dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber air baku untuk pengolahan air bersih. Parameter pH, TSS, BOD, COD,DO, Pospat, Nitrat, Fecal Coliform semuanya dibawah baku mutu sungai kelas I, berdasarkan Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor : 82 Tahun 2001. Strategi pengendalian pencemaran Sungai Rupit diperlukan adanya pemeriksaan kualitas air sungai secara berkala, sosialisasi dan penegakan hukum bagi yang melanggar peraturan dan perundangan lingkungan hidup walaupun masih masuk dalam standar kualitas mutu air sungai.Simpulan : Cemaran ringan yang merupakan status mutu kualitas air sungai dengan parameter pH, TSS, BOD, COD,DO, Pospat, Nitrat,  Fecal Coliform sehingga masih dapat digunakan oleh masyarakat sebagai sumber air baku pengolahan air bersih. Selain itu, perlu dilakukannya kesepakatan dan juga penegakan aturan yang dibuat oleh pemerintah Kabupaten Musi Rawas Utara dalam rangka pengendalian cemaran air sungai Rupit. Kata Kunci : Kualitas pengendalian air, indeks pencemaran sungai, Sungai Rupit ABSTRACTBackground: The use of clean water that does not meet quality standards can cause health problems, both directly and slowly and indirectly. The Rupit River is one of the main rivers in North Musi Rawas Regency which is included in the Musi Watershed. The Rupit River has an average discharge of 54.64 m3/second. Rupit River is a river that passes through Karang Jaya District and Rupit District. Complaints related to the decline in the quality of the Rupit River water have become the basis for conducting an analysis of river water quality based on the Water Quality Criteria according to Government Regulation Number 82 of 2001, and taking measures to control water contamination in the Rupit Rivers that need to be implemented.Methods: The method used in this research is a descriptive research method in which the parameters measured and observed consist of pH, TSS, BOD, COD, DO, Pospat, Nitrate, and Fecal Coliform with a purposive sampling method.Results : The water quality status of the Rupit river with a contamination index level is included in the light pollution category with a value in the range of 0.676 mg/l - 3.268 mg/l and can be used as a source of raw water for clean water treatment. Parameters pH, TSS, BOD, COD, DO, Pospat, Nitrate, Fecal Coliform are all below class I river quality standards, based on Government Regulation Number: 82 of 2001. The Rupit River pollution control strategy requires regular river water quality checks, outreach and law enforcement for those who violate environmental laws and regulations even though they are still included in the river water quality standards.Conclusion: Light contamination which is of the quality status of river water with the parameters pH, TSS, BOD, COD, DO, Pospat, Nitrate, Fecal Coliform so that it can still be used by the community as a source of raw water for clean water treatment. In addition, it is necessary to make an agreement and also enforce the rules made by the North Musi Rawas Regency government in the context of controlling Rupit river water pollution.Keywords: Water control quality, river pollution index, Rupit River
