With the media, there is a communication process that involves conveying messages from one individual to another. Print media is one of the communication media that is very effective in conveying information. Media convergence enables professionals in the field of mass media, especially the Palembang Ekspres print media, to convey news and information as well as entertainment through various types of media that can be accessed by the public at large. The method used for this research is a qualitative method with a case study approach. Qualitative method is a research procedure that produces descriptive data in written or oral form from research subjects that can be analyzed. Palembang Ekspres is developing a new strategy by establishing an online portal or website to meet the needs of people who are increasingly using digital technology to read news. The challenge for the newspaper industry in the era of information and communication technology is very heavy, especially after the emergence of new internet-based media. Technological advances increase the speed at which news spreads, so that print media such as newspapers and magazines cannot compete with electronic media, television and the internet.
