<![CDATA[The age limit for couples getting married is very important in order to avoid the risks and negative effects of early marriage. The aim of the research is to test the maturity of the minimum age for marriage according to Law No. 16 of 2019 through scientific studies both psychologically and biologically in order to reduce the risks that occur to young couples. The type of research in this paper is normative with a statutory and conceptual approach. While the specification of the research is analytical descriptive, namely explaining the problem according to the research title. The data used is secondary data which consists of primary legal materials in the form of marriage laws, namely Law no. 16 of 2019 Law and No. 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage and secondary legal materials in the form of books, journals and writings related to the research title. Maturity of the statutory age limit for marriage through scientific studies needs to be reviewed whether it is in accordance with the capabilities of the human body both psychologically and biologically, because there is a lot that needs to be considered so that there is a balance in carrying out a marriage not only material abilities and age requirements but also mental maturity. body to be able to get married without ending in divorce and get healthy and quality offspring.]]>
