Penggunaan Deteksi Tepi (Canny) pada Sistem Pengenalan Tulisan Tangan Aksara Lampung Berbasis Jaringan Syaraf Tiruan

Abstract

Intisari--- Canny merupakan salah satu metode pengolahan citra, karena secara luas canny dianggap sebagai metode deteksi tepi standar dalam industri dan digunakan di sebagian aplikasi pengolahan citra seperti pada bidang pengenalan pola. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat aplikasi pengenalan tulisan tangan aksara Lampung dan dapat diterjemahkan kedalam bahasa Indonesia. Sistem pengenalan tulisan tangan aksara Lampung dikembangkan dengan teknik pengolahan citra dan jaringan syaraf tiruan backpropagation. Sistem terdiri dari dua perangkat, yaitu perangkat pelatihan dan perangkat aplikasi. Perangkat pelatihan digunakan untuk melatih jaringan syaraf tiruan. Pelatihan dilakukan sebanyak 5 kali dan secara bertingkat untuk menghasilkan bias dan bobot. Perangkat aplikasi digunakan untuk melakukan pengujian terhadap jaringan yang sudah dilatih dan menterjemahkannya kedalam bahasa Indonesia.  Hasil pengujian perangkat aplikasi aksara Lampung memberikan rata-rata persentase kesalahan sebesar 22% dari pengujian karakter dan pengujian kosakata diperoleh persentase kesalahan sebesar 40% dari 100 kali pengujian. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode canny dapat mengenali karakter aksara Lampung tetapi belum mencapai tingkat optimal.Kata kunci--- canny, pengolahan citra, pengenalan pola, tulisan tangan, aksara Lampung, backpropagation. Abstract--- Canny is one method of image processing used, because it is widely regarded as the canny edge detection methods standard in the industry and is used in most applications in the field of image processing such as pattern recognition. The purpose of this research is to develop handwritten recognition aplication of Lampung character  and to translate it into Indonesian language. The system handwritten recognition of Lampung character is developed using image proccesing and backpropagation artificial neural network. The system consists of two programs, they are training program and aplication program. Training program was used to train the neural networks. The training is carried out for five times and multiplications to get bias and weights. Aplication program was used to test the trials to networks which has been trained and translate it into Indonesian language. The testing resulta give the errors percentase at 22% of character testing and 40% of 100 vocabularies testing. The conclusion is canny method could recognise some of the characters but it has not reached the optimum rate.Keywords--- canny, image processing, patten recognition, handwritten recognition, character Lampung, backpropagation.
