<![CDATA[The phenomenon that occurs at Sidoarjo Antarctic High School is that students have decreased empathy. When students experience difficulties and disasters, most of the other students just ignore them and turn to look at their gadgets and laugh when they see other people's difficulties. This occurs due to students' lack of self-awareness to think about caring for others or lack of empathy. The aim of the study was to test the effectiveness of group counseling services using cinematherapy techniques to increase empathy for class XII-IPS students in high school Sidoarjo Antarctica. This research uses a quantitative method with nonequivalent control type pretest-posttest group design. Data was collected using purposive sampling technique through a questionnaire with a sample size of 12 people in the low empathy category and currently. Two hypotheses were formulated and tested using independent analysis Example of T Test. The results of the study show that the implementation of counseling services group with effective cinematherapy techniques to increase class student empathy XII-IPS at Sidoarjo Antarctic High School. Recommendations for further research are that cinematherapy techniques have freedom in the film references used, further research can explore the types of films that can be used to help solve counselees' problems through cinematherapy techniques.____________________________________________________________________Fenomena yang terjadi di SMA Antartika Sidoarjo adalah siswa memiliki sikap empati menurun. Pada saat siswa mengalami kesusahan dan musibah, kebanyakan dari siswa lainnya hanya membiarkan dan beralih pandangan pada gadget masing-masing dan tertawa ketika melihat kondisi kesusahan orang lain. Hal tersebut, terjadi karena kurangnya kesadaran diri siswa untuk bersikap peduli kepada orang lain atau empati yang kurang. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menguji keefektifan layanan konseling kelompok dengan teknik cinematherapy terhadap peningkatan empati siswa kelas XII-IPS di SMA Antartika Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif jenis nonequivalent control group design pretest-postest. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling melalui angket dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 12 orang berkategori empati rendah dan sedang. Dua hipotesis diformulasikan dan diuji menggunakan analisis Independent Sample T Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan layanan konseling kelompok dengan teknik cinematherapy efektif untuk meningkatkan empati siswa kelas XII-IPS di SMA Antartika Sidoarjo. Rekomendasi penelitian selanjutnya yakni teknik cinematherapy memiliki kebebasan dalam refrensi film yang digunakan, penelitian selanjutnya bisa mengeksplor jenis film yang bisa digunakan untuk membantu menyelesaikan masalah konseli melalui teknik cinematherapy.]]>
