<![CDATA[This research aims to study the potency of Ipomoea pes-caprae leaf extract toward food pathogenic bacteria and to examine the potency of antibacterial activity of Ipomoea pes-caprae leaf extract on some food pathogenic bacteria. The results of the study showed that the extract of Ipomoea pes-caprae leaf has an inhibitory effect toward the growth of E. coli, Salmonella sp and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, the higher concentration of extract then the stronger inhibitory response. The hexane extract of Ipomoea pes-caprae leaf of four concentrations toward Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp and Staphylococcus aureus bacterias did not show any clear zones formed on the agar media or negative, for methanol extract at 25%, 50% and 75% did not show clear zone or negative , clear zone could be formed at 100% concentration, while ethyl acetate extract showed clear zones at each concentration of extracts, these thing indicated that ethyl acetate as semi polar compound has bioactive compound, is the best extract in taking role as antibacterial that can inhibit both positive Gram or negative Gram bacteria.]]>
