<![CDATA[Smoking can affect the circulation and breathing of postoperative patients. Both of the above are components of the assessment of the Aldrete score. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the degree of smoking and Aldrete score in postoperative patients with general anesthesia. The research method used was correlational research with a cross sectional approach. Research method: sampling using purposive sampling with 67 respondents. Determination of respondents based on the inclusion criteria of patients who are active smokers and have undergone surgery using general anesthesia. The independent variable is the degree of smoking, while the dependent variable is Aldrete score. Statistical analysis test using Spearman Rank correlation test. The results of the statistical test showed p value of 0.001 with a correlation coefficient of -0, 754 which means there is a relationship between the degree of smoking and Aldrete score in post general anesthesia patients, the strength of the correlation is strong in the opposite direction which means that the higher the degree of smoking, the lower the Aldrete score. So before surgery, patients should reduce or even stop smoking to prevent complications and recover consciousness for a long time in postoperative patients]]>
