<![CDATA[ABSTRACTLatar Belakang: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) merupakan suatu kelompok penyakit metabolik dengan karakteristik hiperglikemia yang terjadi karena kelainan sekresi insulin, kerja insulin atau kedua-duanya. Diabetes Mellitus merupakan salah satu penyakit kronis penyebab kematian tertinggi di Indonesia. Bahkan junlah angka kesakitannya terus meningkat. Data Riskesdas 2018 menunjukkan prevalensi diabetes yakni sebesar 8,5%, meningkat dibandingkan Riskesda 2013 yaituu sebesar 6,9%. Tujuan Penelitian: Untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian edukasi terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap pasien diabetes mellitus tipe II pada pasien prolanis di Puskesmas Muara Satu Kota Lhokseumawe. Metodelogi Penelitian : Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperiment. Jumlah sampel diambil dengan menggunakan total populasi yaitu sebanyak 55. Penelitian ini di laksanakan di Puskemas Muara Satu Kota Lhokseumawe. Analisa data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon karena dari hasil uji normalitas data diperoleh hasil bahwa data tidak berdistribusi secara normal. Hasil Penelitian: Terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan pasien sesudah diberikan edukasi dengan nilai p = 0.000, terdapat peningkatan sikap pasien sesudah diberikan edukasi dengan nilai p=0.000. Kesimpulan: Terdapat pengaruh antara pemberian edukasi dengan peningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe II. Saran: Petugas kesehatan perlu meningkatkan intensitas promosi dan pendidikan edukasi khususnya tentang diabetes mellitus tipe II.Kata Kunci: Edukasi, Pengetahuan, SikapBackground: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia that occurs due to defects in insulin secretion, insulin action or both. Research Objectives: To determine the effect of providing education on increasing knowledge and attitudes of patients with type II diabetes mellitus in prolanis patients at the Muara Satu Health Center, Lhokseumawe City. Research Methodology: The research design used in this study is quasi-experimental. The number of samples was taken using a total population of 55. This research was carried out at the Muara Satu Public Health Center, Lhokseumawe City. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test because the results of the data normality test showed that the data were not normally distributed. Research Results: There was an increase in mother's knowledge after being given health education with a value of p = 0.000, there was an increase in mother's attitude after being given health education with a value of p = 0.000. Conclusion: There is an influence between providing education with increasing knowledge and attitudes in patients with type II diabetes mellitus.
