Bronchial asthma is a disease characterized by an increased response of the trachea and bronchi to various stimuli with manifestations of wide airway narrowing and the degree can vary spontaneously or as a result of treatment (Muttaqin, 2008: 172). The purpose of writing this thesis is to determine the relationship between smoking habits and the severity of bronchial asthma patients in the working area of the Semerap Health Center. This study uses a quantitative design using a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were 39 respondents and the sampling in this study used the Total Sampling technique. The results of this study were obtained using the Chi-Square test, namely the value of P = 0.000 (P ≤ 0.05) which means there is a relationship between smoking habits and the severity of bronchial asthma patients in the working area of the Semerap Health Center. It is expected that all bronchial asthma patients can reduce smoking which is a factor that triggers bronchial asthma, so that bronchial asthma does not recur and can minimize the signs and symptoms of bronchial asthma attacks experienced by sufferers.
