Abstract

Indonesia is a pluralistic country. Plurality, apart to become a wealth and pride, of course also be a crucial challenge. Multicultural education is an activity in developing human potential that is able to appreciate the wide range of differences and an effort to increase students' appreciation of the wisdom of the local culture. This paper is a literature review encouraging the multicultural education as an educational concept that is very urgent to be implemented in the education unit, given once occurred various problems of conflicts caused by cultural differences. This paper examines how the concept of multicultural education, multicultural education curriculum development in schools, the development of multicultural education in the school curriculum, and the role of multicultural education in improving the students' appreciation of the local cultural wisdom.

Abstract

Cooperative learning is successful learning strategy in which a small group, along with students from any different abilities, uses a variety of learning activities to improve their understanding of a subject. Every member of group is responsible not only to learn what has been taught but also to help others learn, in order to create an atmosphere of achievement together. Students work through assignment until successfully understand and complete it. By cooperative learning, there will be drills for students’ socialization ability to be developed and students’ relationships to be added in order to pursue their success. The big number of friends does not make students stress easily because students can tell a story freely. Socializing is essentially a process of adjusting themselves to the environment of social life.

Abstract

Political education is something that is very important to invest in the youth moslem at SMA Al- Kautsar Bandar Lampung, especially in class XI and XII were an average age of 17 years as well as a first-time voters. Therefore civic education curriculum subjects in class XI mandated political learning, and one of them through the material political culture. The purpose of this study was to describe the influence of students’ understanding of the concept of political culture on the characters of the political aspirations of the voters in SMA Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung. This research method is descriptive correlational, the population in this study were all students in Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung who have become voters that amounted to 271 people, while the sample is 25% of the population of 68 people and taken with Proportional Stratified Random Sampling technique. Data collection techniques used is to test and questionnaire were then performed data processing and analysis using statistical program SPSS version 17.00. Understanding of the students in understanding the concept of political culture affect the level of the political aspirations of the students, It is based on the calculation of the path coefficient r> 0 is obtained r1 = 0665 with signification 0,509 and significance of the aforementioned significance level a = 0:05 there by variables influence positively and significantly. It means that to raise the aspirations of voters in the school can be done with the political culture of learning properly. the better the learning of political culture that carried the better also aspiration level students.

Abstract

Human teacher is a teacher who has the sincerity in teaching and learning. Teachers who have confidence that the target job is to make the students managed to understand the material being taught. Teachers are sincere, will think if there are learners who do not understand the teaching materials. Teachers who tried to take the time to learn because they are aware, the teaching profession should not stop learning. Teachers have strong desire and serious to join the training and competence development. Human teacher should be able to look at the competence of the learners a wider, based on three capabilities, such as: cognitive abilities, psychomotor abilities and affective abilities. Five parcel gifts to be opened by a human teacher, namely: 1) star; 2) ocean; 3) treasure; 4) divers; and 5) talent.

Abstract

Family as the first and the nearest environment has primary responsibility in the value of education to children. Parenting activities conducted by parents in the family is one form of educational process of cultural values ​​as a whole. The importance of multicultural education given to children early with the hope that the child is able to understand that in their environment and also in other environments are cultural diversity. The present article intends to provide an overview and ideas on family counseling in developing local knowledge in the mindset of children by conducting a literature review that looked at family counseling can become an alternative program to realize the love child of the local culture. There are two approaches to do in this case: 1). Individual approach or also called individual counseling which attempts to explore emotions, experiences and thoughts klien. 2). Family Conseling, discussion in families led by a family counselor.

Abstract

Character education in Indonesia focuses not only on the understanding of the students conceptual and contextual, but also expected of the students were able to create and innovate appropriately. The implementation of character education in Government Elementary School, is expected to be a solution to social problems that occur in the community. The implementation of character education in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah can be implemented in the areas of learning (learning activities), cultural development of the school, extracurricular activities, and daily activities at home.

Abstract

Mental revolution meant as a change of mindset (mindset) in the life of the nation. Mental revolution is not enough to rely on good intentions, but must take into account structural changes in interaction community. In the realm of mental revolution, Islamic education should consider the structure of the definition, domination, and legitimacy. Third it is customize the mindset of Islamic education principals, Islamic education system, and the structure of the institution of Islam itself. Orientation changes as the impact of the implementation of a mental revolution must be presented with a form in the form of improved educational services for the welfare of the community. Islamic educational institutions expect being able to parse about injustice, arbitrariness and human made in respect of, feel, think, and act in a more rational and sensible.

Abstract

The partiality of educative orientation will make the students get harms, because they only have more knowledge in many things but have less of value systems, interests and attitudes in a positive appreciation toward what they have been known. This study is based on two cases; first how is the learning process of science and social knowledge based on integrated interconnection in Islamic elementary school?, second, What is the problem in learning process of science and social knowledge based on integrated interconnection in Islamic elementary school? The result of this study shows that learning process in the subject of science and social knowledge based on interconnected integration used three systems; justification, spirituality and learning approach based on “type integrated”. The problems of this study are there has not been standard book yet for the teachers that contains Islamic values, time management in the classroom that needs to be done strictly and well, and there are no standard provisions and regulations for certain binding policy about integrative learning with Islamic values.

Abstract

Indonesia is a multicultural country consisting of different tribes, languages ​​and religions. This diversity, on one hand, is one of the advantages and wealth of the nation that must be maintained. But on the other hand, this diversity can be a potential conflict in the midst of society. Therefore, the understanding of the motto of "bhineka tunggal ika" should be instilled to the young generation from an early age so that they can play a role in maintaining unity amid the pluralism of the nation. One effort that can be realized in order to respond to this problem is to implement the concept of multicultural education (multicultural education) in education in Indonesia. This article seeks to discuss the concept of multicultural education and its practice in education in Indonesia.
